{DA FLY NUYUR!!!}
Who: DJ NICKY & CORBEE 5000. Anyone else is welcome to come over and trash the place.
Where: Irvings' place o' residence.
When: TONIIIIIIIGHT. NEW YEAR'S PARTY, MOTHAFUKKAH.

Ohmigaw. When Corinne had mentioned earlier that day that their party was a "scandalision waiting to happen" well, she was right about one thing. Maybe they had been a bit naïve thinking it would be okay to tell everyone about her party, which was off-campus and thus very desirable to attend and not get busted for noise levels or booze in the dorms. Corinne had managed to bribe her older brother into buying them some alcohol, but most of their plans for the night revolved around "Cool Jams 2014" (they made a special playlist and stuck it on his iPod for the occasion, featuring songs like Jenny From the Block and Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)), Twister, and major snackage.

But now, the Cheez-Its had been sucked up like a vacuum. Chips had been ground into the cracks of the hardwood floors and rugs (okay so maybe the first time it was Nick's fault for accidentally dropping the bowl). More than three people had slipped in the same puddle of apple martini outside the kitchen. With Britney belting out Toxic from the fly stereo he brought over, he carefully stepped around the mess, fanning himself with both hands as he peered around in the kitchen at unfamiliar faces. Who the fuck were all these people? And where the hell was his China Girl?

The girl in question was armed with a vacuum and a rag. There were crumbs all over the floor! Did these people not know anything of tidiness? The house was a mess, and she had JUST CLEANED IT EARLIER. After she finished vacuuming again, she had to wipe up the salsa spill, and she could have sworn she heard a spill somewhere else, but she must have been imagining things. The music was too loud and she did not have super hearing. And oh no, that boy did NOT just throw jell-o on the couch! What the hell were these people thinking?! What the hell were the scandalicious bees thinking?

Oh this was a disaster.

Fanny was fashionably late, she told herself. She heard that was the good thing to do at parties, though she wasn't so sure. Wasn't it rude to be late? Well, people told her she was supposed to come late, so she did, but she kind of felt bad. So she brought homemade cookies to make up for it. And when she says homemade, she means she borrowed the common dorm oven to bake some Nestle Toll House from the package. But it's the thought that counts, right?

She tried to knock on the door, but she was quite sure that no one heard her. After all, she heard the dulcet tones of Britney Spears in the background, so she supposed it was okay to just come in and make herself comfortable. Fanny opened the door, peeking her head in before immersing herself into the odd crowd of people, looking around awkwardly, cookie platter in hand.

Nick emerged from the kitchen looking curiously unbalanced, having some difficulty navigating through doorways without nearly colliding into them. However, the three shot glasses tucked into the crook of his elbow? Sort of a dead giveaway. He didn't remember exactly how he ended up doing shots of tequila with one of the senior instrumentalists at Allegro. He just knew that it was a Very Bad Idea because it turned out that alcohol and about three pounds of Ruffles did not mix as well in his gut as he thought they would.

"HEY GIRL HEY!" He laughed with relief at finally spotting a familiar face, skipping over to Fanny (with some difficulty of course). One glance at the plate of cookies in her hand though, and he slapped his hand over his mouth with a loud crack, looking a bit pale. Ohmigaw, I am not fucking touch that shit, he thought bitterly, shaking his head to clear the wave of nausea. Those Ruffles were really hating him right now.

Fanny looked entirely uncomfortable as she stared at a nauseous Nick. Oh goodness, she couldn't handle this. Why had she come, anyway? She wasn't exactly expecting this much of a party.

"Um. Hello!" she said, trying to look cheerful. "Are you-- are you all right?"

Nick waved his hand dismissively, pointedly looking away from the cookies. "Uh, yeah, I got into a fight with a bag of chips and totally lost, honey, don't you worry about me." He gestured vaguely at the plate with his free hand. "Let's go take that in the kitchen, okay?"

"Ohhh," she groaned in understanding, walking towards the kitchen. "Yeah, totally, let's just set it in there." Fanny bit her lip as she walked across the room full of drunk people, mildly (okay a little more than mildly) uncomfortable.

Easier said than done. He had meant to take her by the elbow to her be a good host and show her to the kitchen. Instead he was more or less leaning half of his weight into her for support.

"And, yeah, watch out for right there," he pointed out, stepping over the greenish puddle in the doorway. "Sorry, place is kind of a m-HEY!" He turned away from her suddenly.

"WHO TOLD YOU YOU COULD BRING THAT IN HERE?" He jabbed his finger at a beer pong two men were setting up. One of them almost dropped it in alarm. "This ain't a frat house, bitch, get out!"

"Uhhh right, thanks," she murmured as she carried most of his weight over the puddle, being careful to avoid it and watching out for chunks.

Fanny's eyebrows shot up as he screamed at the two men, entirely surprised. It wasn't as if any of this wasn't happening anyways, she thought, but continued into the kitchen anyways, supporting Nick's weight. "So. Um. How's the party?"

"It was okay at first..." Nick began slowly, taking the dish from her hands and unceremoniously knocking aside some cans to make room for it on the counter. "Sometime after Eddie Murphy's Party All the Time it got real nasty up in here." He snatched up a half-empty (or was it half-full?) can of soda as he propped himself against the counter, drinking it gratefully.

She wrinkled her nose at the soda can but didn't say anything -- it looked like he had a lot on his plate. Fanny shoved a cookie in her mouth and propped herself next to him. "It sounds like it," she said, making a face. "Do you, um. Is there anything I can do to help?"

Nick screwed his face up in thought, taking another swig of Coke. "Ummm... If you wanna help Cor on cleaning duty, maybe. But you're a guest so just uh, take a seat..." He trailed off lamely, glancing around the kitchen with a dawning realisation that all the chairs went missing.

Fanny glaned around for a chair and shrugged, biting her lower lip because she was a little afraid of the things happening around her. Why did she come again? Oh, right, Nick and Corinne were her friends. "Um. 'Kay!"

One of the highlights of the first Good Omens tour was Neil and I walking
through New York singing Shoehorn with Teeth. Well, we'd had a good
breakfast.
