Characters: Emilie and Stas
Setting: Wednesday after classes, in the library
Rating: Probably NSFW, hard to say at this point
Summary: Stas is bored and wants some entertainment. Clearly this means he should go bother Emilie.

Wednesday afternoon classes ended with Stas in a mood. He needed a quick diversion and after realizing Sunny had left campus he decided on his old fall back.

Finding Emilie was a fairly easy task. She was usually studying, something that amused Stas to no end. He found her in the library buried in a pile of books. He leaned across the table stealthily, smirking as he draped himself over the top book. "Miss Devlin," he purred.

He couldn't wait to see what kind of reaction she'd have to him today.

"Asshole," Emilie replied, not so much as an insult but as a greeting. Her voice was deadpan, eyes not looking up from her notebook. He'd certainly have to try harder than that to pull any real reaction out of her. She flicked one of the pages in her notebook over, her expression bland.

Maybe if she ignored him he would go away. Though somehow, she doubted it.

Ah. The pleasantries. "I have missed your voice calling my name," he whispered rather viciously over the table.

He plucked the notebook from under her fingertips. "A history of dark wizards?" He closed it and offered it back with one hand. "I was under the impression that sort of information was genetic knowledge." The indication was that she should certainly know it already, at least his smirk said as much.

"Cute," Emilie sneered. She snatched the book back from him, her upper lip curling in what could have only been disgust. At the very least, feigned disgust.

"Oh, it is." Her eyes locked on him, annoyance clear across the features of her face. "What do you want, Anastas?"

"It was never very cute," he replied. He sneered back, but it was almost endearing. He did enjoy a good tussle with Emilie, even if the mood was running toward disgust. "If I remember it was quite heated."

He moved around the table and draped himself over the chair next to her. "I thought we might have a little fun this afternoon. Ditch the books. Find a quiet corner. Mark the territory."

The corners of Emilie's mouth twitched into a small smirk before she could stop it, but this was quickly quashed by her usual scowl. It did help that every time he opened his mouth she wanted to strangle him.

But only so much.

"You thought wrong." She rolled her eyes to keep herself from looking at him. "I'm not here to entertain you when you get bored with playtime with the kiddies."

He rolled his head on the back of the chair to look away as he smiled. Emilie couldn't see how much fun he was having or the jig would be entirely up. He straightened his face out and rolled his head back.

"I never suggested you were here to entertain me. I thought we could entertain each other." He pulled on the edge of her notebook just enough to demand her attention. "We could play dark wizard/light wizard," he offered vaguely. He was never very good at being the light wizard, but she was very very good at playing the dark wizard.

Emilie's eyes followed the trail of movement caused by his tug, and snapped on his. She was glowering now, effectively hiding the fact that she kept briefly considering it. Though maybe her annoyance made it more obvious. She wasn't sure.

She tugged the book back. "I'll pass."

He looked away again, this time pretending to be bored. "It was worth asking," he said before yawning. "I had found a new whip to play with. I guess I will have to find someone else to degrade me."

Emilie laughed once and it was loud, unladylike, carrying farther through the library than she had meant-- but she was shameless and smirking at him, if bitterly.

"Found?" She echoed.

He leaned back in the chair even further, gazing at the ceiling as if she hadn't just disrupted the entire library. "I have a talent for finding what I want to find," he offered with a shrug. "I wanted to find something interesting. Lucky me. It was a cat o' nine tails."

"And you came running," Emilie mused, shaking her head at him. She leaned forward a bit, closing some of the gap between them.

"I'm not that easy, Stas."
anastas From: [info]anastas Date: October 1st, 2010 06:16 am (UTC) (Link)
"I am," he admitted, though his easiness had never been under question.

"Would it not be considered applicable research to come and try it out?"
babalon From: [info]babalon Date: October 1st, 2010 09:53 am (UTC) (Link)
"No." Her reply was quick and dismissive.

"How would I be learning anything that I don't already know?"
anastas From: [info]anastas Date: October 1st, 2010 11:48 am (UTC) (Link)
"I might be tempted to educate you," he replied elusively. He leaned back away from her even though she'd leaned in closer to him. Anastas always thought it was more fun to push and pull, even if it ended in disaster.

And with Emilie, disaster was the norm.

"You? Educate me? Please." She scoffed, placed her palm flat against his chest, and shoved.

He had leaned too far backward and Emilie was not one to pass up a golden opportunity. Her push sent him toward the floor; the chair made the most spectacular cracking sound as it broke under his weight.

What a spectacular bitch, he marveled from the wreckage. It was most certainly going to leave a bruise and ache for days. He grinned up at her around his legs still holding up the seat of the chair in the crook of his knee.

"I am in love with you Emilie Devlin," he professed. At the moment he couldn't tell if it was the truth, but it certainly sounded good.

Emilie couldn't help flashing an almost good-natured grin back at Anastas. Clearly it was time to leave.

She cleared her books from the table and stood. Pausing, she gave him a smug smile and shook her head.

"You shouldn't tell lies," she laughed. "Crows will come and pluck out your tongue."

"And I suppose you'd see to that personally, Miss Devlin?" Came the voice of Librarian Mercer, who had taken it upon herself to stand in the path of Emilie's exit.

She came to investigate upon hearing the noise of what she now knew to be a chair, and a student, falling. Had it been two other students, she would have thought it a simple case of clumsiness. This was not, however, two innocent students. They both were anything but innocent.

Harriet's eyes went from Emilie to Anastas and back, her arms crossed over her chest and her wand clearly visible within her hand. "Would either of you care to explain why on earth one of my chairs is now broken?"
anastas From: [info]anastas Date: October 1st, 2010 08:29 pm (UTC) (Link)
"I had an argument with gravity Miss Mercer," Anastas supplied quickly. "Gravity won."

He glanced quickly at Emilie, half tempted to throw her under the bus, but also tempted to see if he could win any brownie points if he took this one on the chin. "If you would be willing to show me a charm to repair it I would be most willing to fix the chair."
crescentcitynpc From: [info]crescentcitynpc Date: October 1st, 2010 08:40 pm (UTC) (Link)
Since Anastas was the one to speak up first, Harriet's eyes went to him. While she was sure there had been something else going on, there was no proof and so could do little more.

After a moment, she looked to Emilie. "Go on, Miss Devlin. I just hope Mr. de Kooning doesn't lose another battle with gravity in your company again." It was a warning more than anything, showing her suspicion of the events.

That done, she turned her attention back to Anastas. It would only take a moment to show him a quick charm to put her chair back together, and then she could go back to work.
