Adelaide/Open

Adelaide stalked her way through the woods to the clearing, feeling a bit like a criminal. It wasn't so much that she was doing anything wrong, simply that she looked like a terrible pickpocket, looking around to make sure she wasn't being followed. With that stupid behavioural probation over her head, she really didn't want any teachers crashing Charlie's party-- it might be the only chance she got in a while to have some fun.

She spotted Charlie in the clearing quite easily; he'd made it big enough so that if the party got wild everyone would still fit. "Hey gramps!" She bapped the end of his cigarette with the envelope she was holding. "Sorry," she said, meaning the lame gift. "When it comes to presents, I blow."

Adelaide/Charlie

Charlie had been about to thank Adelaide, or say hello or something, but just ended up blinking and processing what she had just said. "What? You do what?" he asked slowly, registering the gift and taking it. "Shit, you didn't have to" he muttered, grinning and ripping the envelope open. Reading the IOU, not really getting it he just laughed, tucking it into his pocket.

"Thanks" he added, stubbing the cigarette out and motioning to his array of party items. "Drink? Smoke? I'd offer you a firework but I'm waiting til it gets dark, you know?"

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

"I said I bl-- hey, fuck you!" She grinned and punched his arm, plopping down on to the log next to him. "You should have thought of that before you invited everybody, huh?" She teased. They weren't that good friends.

"Waiting 'til dark sounds like a good idea. Until then, though..." She eyed the cannabis vodka suspiciously. "Maybe a beer."

Adelaide/Charlie

"Shit, just my luck" he teased, raising an eyebrow and smirking slightly. He knew Ade well enough that it wasn't awkward when they talked, slightly better than small talk but not exactly buddies, either way he liked her.

He reached for a beer bottle, the keg could wait until everyone was liquored up enough not to notice just how shitty it was, opening the cap on the log and passing it to her.

"Enjoying the first week back?" It was a question said with obvious sarcasm.

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

She raised a cynical brow. "World's fastest detention... yeah. Great week." She tipped the bottle towards him in a little toast. "Yay weekend! And a famous Charlieparty to kick it off."

Adelaide/Charlie

Charlie couldn't help but snigger, hiding his obvious amusement behind his own beer. "Detention already? Is that a record? What'd they get you for?"

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

"Um, my face got in the way of AB's fist. I didn't even do anything wrong, and I got a week of detention with Fortis out of it." She took a long drink of beer. "God, that man is scary."

Adelaide/Charlie

Charlie tried to look sympathetic, shaking his head sadly. "That sucks, what's he got you doing?" Lighting another cigarette, he side-eyed Adelaide. "Probably shouldn't be hitting other girls on campus though" he added, even if it was kind of hot.

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

Addy shrugged. It was almost over, just the one day left. "Labels. And she hit me! Jesus! Everyone thinks I started it!" She finished off the beer in a huff. "I am completely innocent; look at this face."

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

"Don't you usually start it?" Charlie pretended to study her face, squinting slightly. "You're right, totally innocent. Except not. At all."

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

She shrugged. "You make me sound like a deviant, Charlie, is that really what you think of me?" She pouted. "I'm as pure as freshly-driven snow."

Adelaide/Charlie

Charlie laughed at her pouting and nodded. "Yep, pure snow. Like, coke. You're as innocent as cocaine, you know?"

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

"I'm cool with that," she sassed him back. "I'm addictive, expensive and desirable." She poked her tongue out playfully.

Adelaide/Charlie

Charlie rolled his eyes but smiled anyway. "Whatever you say" he teased, it wasn't exactly a secret that Adelaide was hot, but then it also wasn't a secret that she was kinda crazy.

Re: Adelaide/Charlie

She grinned. "I say lots of things." People were filtering into the clearing now, and she figured she better let Charlie go so he could talk to other people. She grabbed his shoulder and leaned over to smack a cartoonish kiss to his cheek. "Happy birthday, chump! Give me a heads-up when you want to cash in."
