Tell a Friend
Characters: Mama Michiko and Adelaide
Setting: House Lalaurie, Addy's room, Sunday evening
Rating: Some swearing probably
Summary: The girls talk

Michiko wasn't feeling particularly good about her last conversation with Adelaide. She hated letting it go for so long as well. Addy was going to do whatever Addy was going to do and even if Michiko didn't agree with it, there's was nothing she could do, except maybe sling her over her shoulder and run off to Canada. Finally plucking up the courage she marched herself over to House Lalaurie, convinced one of the other seniors to let her into the seniors floor and knocked on Addy's door.

Adelaide wasn’t expecting any visitors; generally an uninvited guest knocking at her door meant Quinn or Emilie after something. The furthest recess of her mind might anticipate a surprise visit from Leon, but that was unlikely. “It’s unlocked,” she sang out, adding another coat of coloured varnish to her toenails.

Michiko opened the door and immediately showed her hands as if in surrender. "Hey Legs," she said a little softer than her usual tone. "Can we talk?"

“You come to apologize?” Addy replied gruffly, upon seeing (or rather, hearing) who it was. The friends hadn’t spoken since Charlie’s party, when Michi had dragged Addy away from the drinks table and been rewarded with a slew of curse words and insults before Addy stomped off to her room in a drunken huff.

"Sorta," she shrugged and shut the door behind her. "I'm just... I'm worried about you and him." Michiko had been there the last time they had broken up and it was awful. She didn't want to see it again. "Besides, you got what you wanted anyways didn't you brat?" she asked with a little smirk.

“God! Panic much?” She screwed the cap on the nail polish loosely, and set it on her bedside table, making room on the bed for Michi to sit with her. “You were freaking out like a meteor or something was going to hit the party right then. We were just talking.”

Michiko laughed and plopped down on the bed with Addy. "Well, we were both a little drunk and I thought the worse," she shrugged. "You know I hated the way he treated you last time," she said looking at Addy, her eyes concerned but a smile still planted on her face. "Not that you can't handle yourself," she added.

Adelaide waved that explanation away dismissively. “If you’d bothered to listen to the conversation you were interrupting, you’d know he apologized for that. He knows he was a jerk.”

"Apologizing and proving are two different things, and if I remember correctly, you were the one who was apologizing when I so rudely interrupted," Michi shot back.

“Bullshit! As if!” Oh, wait. Maybe she apologized for turning him into a toad. She couldn’t remember exactly. “Anyway, he knows he was a dickbag, and he’s going to make it up to me. He said he loves me.”

Michi's eyebrows rose and she pulled a face. "You were totally apologizing for the toad thing," she shook her head. "Well yeah, he was a dickbag." Dickbag loves her? "Just... be careful this time around, okay? I know boys can make grandeur promises but trust me... half the time they can't follow through."

“We’ll be fine.” Addy rolled her eyes. “We’re totally on the same level now. Okay?”

"Yeah," she said quietly. "Sure." She had been there before, the on-again-off-again thing and sure sometimes it worked out great! And sometimes it was terrible. She really had no right to tell Addy otherwise but she was convinced that this was different. That Addy and Leon were entirely different from her own situation.

Addy didn’t pick up the hesitation in Michi’s voice, she was already staring off into space dreamily. “You should be happy for me. This is what I wanted.” Deep down she knew she shouldn’t kid herself that this was going to be a forever-and-ever, happily-ever-after thing, but teenage optimism is hard to shake.

Michi smiled. "I just want you to be happy. And if he doesn't make you happy I'll beat the shit out of him, got it?" She felt the same teenage optimism herself and was trying her best not to get tangled up in that herself. With Isamu, it only complicated things.

“Not if I get there first,” Addy replied with a sneaky grin. “You wouldn’t stomp on a cute little frog, would you? I could turn him into a teeny tiny mouse and hide him in my pants, protect him from you.” Now she was just baiting Michi.

Michi's train of thought was completely derailed when Addy talked about turning Leon into a mouse and putting him in her pants. Michi had been thinking of different ways to torture and maim the blonde British boy if he crossed Addy again. "I'm sorry what?" she laughed. "If you turned him into a mouse and put him in your pants no one would think of it as punishment."

“That wasn’t punishment, it was hiding him from you! Actually, who knows what he might get up to down there. That’s nasty. Maybe I’ll let you hit him instead.” She dissolved into laughter.

Michi joined Addy in her laughter. The idea was entirely ridiculous. "You're too pure to let that little rodent down there anyways," she teased. "And I think that it might cross the line into bestiality."

“EEEEWWWWW.” Addy’s face squinched up in disgust. “Just... NO. This conversation is over! Gross! You fucking pervert!”

Michi laughed even louder. "You're the one that brought it up!" She finally composed herself and stopped laughing. "So what have you been doing this week Trouble?" It had been weird not talking to her, poking fun at her all week.

“I meant it in the most innocent sense, and then you went and made it disgusting! You’re spending too much time with that redneck slut,” she accused. “Who in their right mind thinks of sex with animals? Jesus Christ!”

"Oh don't be so sensitive Legs," she gave her a gentle nudge. "Besides that redneck slut doesn't actually have sex with animals, you have to know that right?" Shit. Shouldn't have gone there. Now she's going to rage about AB for hours. "Anyways. Leon's the perv that has attempted to get into your pants before, what's to stop him if he's in your pants but in the form of a mouse?"

Adelaide bristled. Favourable talk of Abernathy Ford was expressly forbidden in her room. She decided not to address it, though. This was a serious talk. “He doesn’t have to be a mouse to get in my pants, okay? He’s my boyfriend.”

Michiko looked at her seriously, the girl who would not let her hear the end of it when they all found out Michi was pregnant. "Addy, just because he's your boyfriend doesn't mean you have to let him into your pants. If you're not ready for it, you don't have to let him pressure you into it," her tone was gentle but she was sure Addy wouldn't take her seriously.

“I’m ready! Jeez! I can’t believe you’re giving me this talk.”

"What happened to waiting until marriage Legs?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "And me giving you this talk has nothing to do with me, it's about you babe." Sure she had been younger that Addy and she had decided to sleep with Eli before she was perhaps ready but Addy didn't need to know that.

Addy squirmed a little under this line of questioning. “Getting married is about being in love, right?” She mumbled. “Well, I love Leon, then it doesn’t matter if we’re not married, because... it’s the same thing.” Even she didn’t believe a word coming out of her mouth. “And you can’t talk to me about waiting until marriage okay, you said that was totally 1950s.” She crossed her arms defensively. “And besides, if he dumps me for not having sex with him then there’s absolutely no way we’d ever get married which means I’d be waiting for nothing anyway.” This made absolutely perfect sense, in a twisted way.

Michi smiled easily. "Well yeah, it is totally 1950s but it's also totally you," she shook her head. "And besides, if he's going to break up with you for not sleeping with him, it's all the more reason to not be with him. Losing it so that he doesn't leave you is about the dumbest thing possible. I just feel like you'll regret it. And if he makes you feel like he's just going to leave you again for the same reason then you shouldn't give him a second chance." That made sense right?

“No shit!” Addy was frustrated. How could she make Michi see she wasn’t being a pushover about this? If she was being a pushover, she’d have just gone and done it the first time, wouldn’t she? “I love him, you dumbass. I want to. We talked, all right, and he knows that this isn’t like, something I’m just going to be BAM, instantly okay with. We’re gonna take it slow.”

"You'll actually talked to him about it? And he wasn't a total dick?" she was floored. She didn't particularly know Leon well but from the last break up it was enough to put her off entirely. "I'm not telling you how to live Addy, I wouldn't dare try to make your decisions for you," she smirked. "And if he tries to bully you into anything too soon I will beat the shit out of him." She was glad to hear they were going to take it slow but she didn't really believe it.

“Well... we kinda talked about it. A bit. That doesn’t mean the conversation is over! I made him promise.”

"You made him promise what exactly? Not to be an ass-hat?" Michi was skeptical at best.

Adelaide rolled her eyes. “To take it slow. And look, I was practically sitting on him all of Charms class and he didn’t try shit, so he’s listening, okay?”

"Oh really?" she grinned. "You're becoming a Class A ho bag aren't you? Sitting on boys during class," she teased.

“Class A ho bag who’s passing Charms,” she added, with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. “Ain’tcha proud?”

She laughed. "I am, I'd say you're learning quite well." As to whether or not Michi was talking about charms or being a class A ho bag... she wasn't divulging.
