Summary: It's the Sadie Hawkins dance! Ladies choice, so get out there and have some fun!

There was a subtle theme for tonight's Sadie Hawkins dance. No bright lights, or obviously themed decorations. No shaped confetti or strange creatures wandering around dressed in costumes. No costumes were in evidence at all, in fact. There was nothing cheesy or funny or overdone or bright or overt about the hall for tonight's dance.

Instead, tonight, there was soft lighting in places (though not too soft. The chaperones made sure of that), blue and soft gold table decorations and centerpieces, and a dance floor with charmed candles high above to provide light to see and dance by. The candles were charmed to change colors with the music, much the way that Muggle lights were done in dance clubs and the like. It added atmosphere without looking gaudy. Here and there were the teachers who were going to be watching over things for the evening, there was a long refreshment table off to one side, and the tables for sitting and relaxing were staged around the dance floor. All in all, a subtly decorated place where students could come in and dance and mingle.

Summary: Brian and Yev hang at the library doing awkward freshman boy things... that sounds wrong... but it's not.

Yev had still been getting used to the fact that he had bright blue hair, every morning so far had been like a pleasant surprise. He woke up in the morning and caught his reflection in the mirror and thought to himself. What is that??? Oh right, my hair. Then he laughed to himself and carried on with his routine. He decided he wouldn't mind keeping it that way for a while.

So with his blue hair, a pile of books, and his usual fare, Yev headed to the library. It was pretty quiet as usual as he searched the rows of tables for a place to sit and mind his business. He hadn't found a promising seat until he saw his friend and fellow freshman piling and re-piling his books at a table. He walked down the aisle with his usual slow and clumsy pace and sat down across from Brian. "Hello," he said quietly.

Summary: Brian is trying to get some studying done, which isn't going well for him.


Brian stared at his book for a long time, wondering if charms was really all that important. No, actually, that was a lie. He knew they were important, but at the moment he couldn't get his brain to focus long enough to commit anything to memory. Instead his mind kept wandering. How did other people keep from letting everything in the room fight for their attention? The chairs weren't perfectly lined up with the desk, and they sat there with little alarms flashing...

At least for him.

"Win..." He stated, lifting his wand before sighing. No, no. He couldn't do this. Those chairs could not stay askew like that. How could anyone focus when they were off center like that?

Setting: The new book store!

Summary: Brian goes to the book store to buy supplies, Apple is investigating the book store

Apple was interested in investigating this new book store so with his ukulele slung over his shoulder he walked through the aisles checking out some of the new merchandise. He wanted to check out the magical creatures section first and foremost, unfortunately for Apple his short attention span backfired on him again and he was distracted by self-stirring cauldrons.

Not paying attention to the people around him he bumped into a freshman he didn't quite recognize. "Whoa, sorry bro," he laughed taking a step back and brushing the other kid's shoulder. "I gotta start paying better attention or something," he grinned.

Summary: It's the Valentine's Day dance! Get grooving!

CCI's main hall had been decked out to the nines for the annual Valentine's Day dance. Red, pink, and white streamers and hearts hung from the ceiling. The usual snack table had been set up with a deep red table cloth and lined with trays of snacks and bowls of punch. The lighting was a bit hazy, giving a romantic hue to the room... but not too romantic! Professors were on the alert for inappropriate behavior.

Charmed papier-mache hearts floated through the dance, occasionally exploding and sending jets of glitter to the dance floor. The music was loud and energetic and the hall way already flooding with students dressed in their best and dancing.

Summary: Brian was on a cleaning spree, at least until he realized he'd obsessively rubbed his skin raw enough to bleed. Somehow he makes it outside in a rationale, calm manner. But he still has that problem of bleeding hands, and his gloves are really starting to sting.

Summary: It's the Snowflake Ball!

The main hall of the Crescent City Institute had been completely transformed for the school's annual Snowflake Ball. Instead of a grand, but rather bland, hall, there was now an utterly festive atmosphere. A giant tree was the focal point now, decorated with real icicles and pine needles, and tiny fairies sitting politely on the ends of branches to provide a twinkling effect. Pillars were festooned with garlands and ribbon, tables set up with snowy white tablecloths, and the floor had been charmed to give off a low, misty effect. It was an effect that went well with the effect placed on the ceiling.

This was Louisiana, after all, and it wasn't often that they got heavy snow. But for tonight at least, there was snow at CCI. Or rather, in CCI. Snow fell prettily from the enchanted ceiling, warm and not wet at all. It evaporated before it hit the floor, but there was a charming quality to it as it fell among the Ball's attendees. In some spots, little floating lights, much like will-o-wisps floated amid the falling snow. Here and there, professors walked among the students giving greetings and compliments, and sometimes rebukes, all garbed in their holiday best. Some wore dress robes, others donned more Muggle attire. All in all, it was a beautiful occasion.

He didn't really know who she was, or really what she looked like. At least he wasn't sure when he'd gone looking for things to give her. The only thing that mattered though, was that she was a girl. And thus- certain to like the gift.

However, AB is probably a bit surprised when three boxes are delivered by three of the school owls. Each box as a hand written note that simple reads- Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
