Mod Journal Changes
I added a bit to the university section on the classes and scheduling page. Just a bit more clarifying and background. I also added and changed a bit in wands; I didn't like how flexibility worked, I'm retooling it. If you want to change your character's wand accordingly please feel free. You may have noticed I tweaked around the characters page. The original layout was too hard for me to maintain when adding new characters, so I switched it up. The add all button and contacts have been updated, please give them a once over.
Question
Are we event-ed out for May? We have a St George's Trip scheduled for Sunday, but we can pretend it happened and not make it an event if we're already burnt out on events (from prom, after-prom, quidditch/quodpot tryouts). There's another trip in June that we can play out before the school year ends and we head into summer play. Let me know in the comments. If no one comments I'll assume we're burnt out.
Birthdays
I have been puzzling over how to handle birthdays in this game since we added them into the game calendar. As such we missed Leland's birthday (sorry Beckany). Sass and I cooked up an idea that Cinna (being queen of the events committee) would send out an email at the beginning of each month with a birthday sort of bulletin, which would keep it streamlined and in the comm. If you wanted your character to send presents to another you could use the owling tag or play it out in a thread on or near that character's birthday. I can also make a birthday tag if we want to keep these things together. I think this will make birthdays more unique and keep them in with the spirit of the game. (PS- I'm dreading how to post quodpot/quidditch results when that comes around).
Adult Characters and the Limit
Thus far we only have two officially played adult characters in the game. What I'm thinking is I might up the character limit to 7 if your seventh character is an adult (such as a shopkeeper in St. George's, or an adopted faculty member). And you could certainly play more than one adult below a 7 character limit if you wanted. This really only affects Becky and myself, so I'll talk it over with her (and the limit as it stands is mostly just to keep me from going crazy making characters; you guys know how I am).

They're not the best, but I made house icons (from the lovely crests Sass made for us) if you'd like to use them in your personal journals for school pride.

It be Sass with her fourth: this is Riley. He is a pretentious fucking hipster/anarchist hybrid with a strong douchebag streak. His BFF is a girl who Nina will be apping AAAAAANY moment now. *stare*
He is a Putnam (because of his extreme loyalty to his friends once they've earned friendship and he works extremely hard to be as difficult and obscure as possible) and his only extracurricular is school paper. Because it's HARD HITTING STUFF. SO MANY SCANDALS TO BREAK AND CORRUPTION TO REVEAL... yeah, it's a lot more boring than he thought too.

No, she won't tell you what the B stands for. She goes by Madelyn or Maddy and that's that.
She's a theatre geek (she does drama, dance, and choir), history geek, and she's a halfback/safety on the Hudson quodpot team. She's fun, but a little histrionic, sometimes overdramatic.
Looking for the usual stuff, friends, s.o.s (ex or potential), enemies, and so on. :D

So Sass introduced me to tabs in googledocs. So excite! I've added tabs for next year so we can adjust our classes/extracurriculars. I think I've added most of your characters in (based on the scheduling thread), please double check for me. I think I've also added in everyone to edit (if they have a student on the sheet); so if you need to make corrections have at.
Yay! Tabs! I labeled this current school year 2010-2011, next school year 2011-2012 (Sorry Aussies, American schooling is bananas like that).
I didn't adjust the extracurriculars; I'll leave that for you guys to do (if your characters want to drop a club, try something new, or not). I just copied the original, so you just have to go in and move the check marks (make sure you're on the right tab).
I love you guys. Seriously. Mucho mucho.

Nina here - you guys know meee. <3 I know you, thanks for inviting (HARASSING) me. :D
This is Alistair, also from the UK, born in Ireland. ACCENT OF WIN. He went to Hogwarts and stuff, then undertook Auror training and now is visiting the USA as part of a transfer thing within the Ministry for Magic Law Enforcement department. Due to being on a sort of probation/rookie period he has been posted as a guard at Dresden Academy! Along with Rhys. Yay! Dresden gets all the hotness, lucky Dresden.
He and Rhys are partners (IN AWESOME, NOT IN SEX) and they're the BESTEST FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WOOORLD. They couldn't be more alike in terms of being blokey, fun loving, - GIRLS AND BOOZ - and generally easy going to everything around them. He's going to love being at the school because it's a little more relaxed and like a bit of a working holiday and it's probably an excuse to act a bit like a big kid. Still he has the ability to be an awesome, dedicated Auror of kickass proportions when the need might arise.
I CAN'T WAIT TO RP WIT U GUYS.

Hi folks!
This is Rhys. He is not a student.. though he may act like one from time to time. He and his BEST BUD have recently moved to the US. They are Aurors. But given the new country/agency/etc. they have to start at the bottom. Which, thankfully for any ladies at the academy, means they have to serve as guards there for a while.
Rhys is pretty fun, I think. He's excited to see what US schools are like.. and excited to be back at a school in general, to be honest. I think his maturity level might drop even more, if that's possible. HIS FAVOURITE THINGS ARE WOMEN AND BEER. I don't know what else to say.. it might be hard to take him seriously given his laid back/fun loving nature.. but he did train hard and work hard to be there and he can make use of those skills when he has to.
IT IS TIME FOR DINNARH. That's probably enough though. XD <3

HERE WITH A SECOND KID!
This one is Victoria (a.k.a. - Tori, or Trouble). She JUST transferred in from another school, just after Valentine's Day. So not only is she new to my brain, she's BRAND SPANKING NEW TO THE WHOLE SCHOOL!
She's a Clemons sophomore, but looks like she could be a junior or a senior if she wanted to. Every other weekend she goes home, and no she will not tell you why. She loves partying and having a good time, and is wicked good at potions. She lives with her grandparents in western New York, while her parents and brothers actually live closer to the school. No, she will not tell you why. She's flirty and social, but somewhat guarded. Her story is her own and she will not share it with anyone.
For the record, she IS a teen mom - which she does not broadcast and no one but the administration would know at all. Her son is almost four months old, and stays with her grandparents - hence her going home every other weekend. She had an affair with one of her teachers at her old school, which was the reason for the switch. Well, that and the baby thing.

HELLO.
Sara here. I'm coming off a sugar high and am actually epically tired right now. So I apologise if this ends up being brief and uninformative and full of mistakes. :E
I only have one character to introduce at this stage. His name is Ryder and he's a bit of a dick. Or a lot of a dick. I don't think he has many friends.. and by friends I mean people who tolerate his presence. He's kind of aggressive and therefore not the most fun person to be around. It's usually talk.. but he'll use magic if he thinks he can get away with it. He's not above a bit of a punch on, either. So he's a trouble maker and a bully, basically. Not someone you really (want to) get close to. He is in Clemons and is a Junior/6th year.. so hopefully he'll have some interaction with some other characters. UMM. What else? He's the only member of his immediate family to have attended the school.. he doesn't like his family much but seems to be on the right path to turn out just like them. He's not an idiot but he certainly acts like one. I don't think I mentioned this in his info (whoops), but his family has a long magical history.. and a long history in the area too, I think. Their branch of the family has fallen from grace a little in recent times on account of them becoming a pack of idiots (that may be Ryder's opinion.. although that makes him a bit of an idiot as well then.)
What else? He's on his houses Quodpot team and in the Dueling club. He's pretty quick. If there's anything else you want to know feel free to ask.. and if you have any ideas for interactions between any of your characters and Ryder let me know!
I am so going to bed now.

Do me a favor everyone and check your characters birthdays.
I realize I never put in a cut-off date for ages. It's November 30th (as per NY school tradition). So your kid can start school at age 10 so long as their birthday is before November 30th.
The way it runs in HP the second number of their age is the same as the year they're in. For example: a junior is year 6 and they'd be 16 for the start of the year (or 15 so long as they're born before Nov. 30th).
Since we're already in the second half of the year you need to check their birthdays at the beginning of the year.
If you decide to hold back your student a year you need to put a good reason in their application.
Please comment here if you end up changing any of your birthdays so we can update the calendar.
Sorry if I made more work for you guys. If it makes you feel any better I screwed up some of my birthdays too.

I bring you Leland Sykes, a hulett junior. He's a transfer student who moved to Dresden at the beginning of his sophomore year. He's a douchey jock, everyone's bud but no one's real close friend. He's got quite a history of burning through girlfriends, teasing kids, and getting into trouble. He's really into sports and plays blindside beater on the quidditch team.
He needs buds, exes, and probably a tutor because the kid has got terrible grammar and spelling.

So far there is only Rosana, and yes, you will call her that unless she has otherwise indicated it will not lead to a most painful death. Possibly by piranha. She is a Clemons senior and international student from Brazil who transferred in her sophomore year to Dresden. She can speak Portuguese, though I don't think I listed that on her page. YET. She knows she's better than you, and has two categories for people: pawn and pet. If you're in the latter category, consider yourself safe. As far as men go, to her you're really only good for one thing and we think you can guess what that is. She's fonder of some than others, but that will really get you nothing more than a spot in her rotating schedule. Although, very few people get that honor? So, take it as you will.
Also, she has a sister anywhere from one to two years younger - though she is definitely a sophomore - whom she despises. Thankfully that sister is not in Dresden (yet). If anyone would be interested in playing her sister, Noemi, just let me know and I'll be more than happy to brainstorm! :D

Haha, Carol is not the only person to forget to do these! I am Sass, and am currently the headspace for three characters (though that's sure to boom).
 Cinnamynn Thompson. 16 years old, Hulett junior. Her parents are celebrities and she was raised in the spotlight. She's very loud and friendly (or thinks she is, anyway), a cheerleader, and is often bugging people for candids or quotes for the school yearbook. She's in Debate, because arguing just comes naturally. She needs friends, 'boyfriends' and I would not at all be adverse to any crushes/people crushing on her!
 Adelaide Legaux. Might be familiar to some of you, but her story has changed a little so I recommend reading her bio. She's now 18 and in University House, having survived a suicide attempt at the end of her senior year. She has a jerkbag ex-boyfriend and an extremely limited friends circle which is probably still figuring out how to tiptoe around That Big Issue. Still a sports freak with attachment issues, and let's not get started on that whole family thing. Some friends/acquaintances and enemies are welcomed!
 Steven Suzuki. 15 years old, Champlain sophomore. He's quiet and studious, a total Champlain stereotype. However, he can also be fiercely judgemental and elitist (particularly on matters of intelligence) and very closed off on personal matters-- you probably wouldn't guess he's bisexual. If he was in charge of the world, he'd have you all forcibly sterilized if by some miracle you proved yourself worthy of being allowed to live. Friends are unlikely, love interests highly improbable, enemies a given. He has a very interesting sister available for play.

I always forget to do this part.
I'm Carol. I moderate and I play. At present I have five characters in game (all on this journal).
First up is Veronica Cantrell. She's a bit of a perfectionist and very hardworking. She's kind of prissy and a little picky about the kind of people she hangs out with.
Next is Abernathy Ford. She's a north country girl through and through. Rough and tumble and not afraid to tell you how she feels. She's a senior and not planning on sticking around for University, so she's only got a few months left to play here.
Third is Hawthorne Nikitin. Nicknamed Thorny, mostly because he was a constant thorn in his mother's side. He's a punk rocker and he's almost always in trouble. Being a creative guy he's in Hudson House. Also a senior he's trying to decide if he wants to stick around for another year.
Fourth is Thorny's cousin, Luka Nikitin. He's a little pookie, but he's also constantly in trouble. It's like he can't quite help it, trouble tends to find him.
Last is Arnaud Powell. He's an international student and is working to come back for his senior year. He was sorted into Clemons and he doesn't like what that may imply. He's friendly, but quiet and he gives haircuts in the dorms for a nominal fee.
