Happy Birthday, Dolemeck Night! (Open to anyone who knows Dolemeck) @ 07:45 pm

[info]dolemecknight:
Current Location: Seattle, WA
Current Mood: cheerful

"One thousand, one hundred, and fifty years..." Dolemeck mused to himself as he wheeled about the apartment he shared with Tyler. It was still hard to believe he was that old. He certainly did not feel it, and he feared that if someone put THAT many candles on a cake that it would burn down the apartment complex! Perhaps it was best not to tell anyone it was his Birthday?

He managed to get on his pea coat and put a ski cap on his head. It was brisk in Seattle, today, and he doubted the doctors would want him catching a cold while he was still recovering from that Tryk attack. The last thing he wanted was to be scolded like some child.

Perhaps a quick trip to Greg's bar was in order. A nice warm mug of spiced cider sounded like heaven at the moment. Or he could go to the tea shop that was close to the apartment... where would he go, today? Who should he hang out with? So many possibilities.

"Tyler, I'm headed out!" he shouted back towards his room. "I shall return later!"

With that he wheeled out of the apartment and headed out. The tea shop was a bit crowded this evening, so he decided to pass and just head to Greg's bar for a drink or two. Once inside of the bar, he took off his ski cap and fixed his hair a bit. Smiling, he wheeled himself over to Greg, who was behind the bar as always.

"Good evening, Greg. How are you feeling?"

Invasion of Seattle @ 09:19 pm

[info]nextgen_vampire:

Ophelia had planned this thoroughly ever since her surviving children had told her of what had befallen the others in the city. She could see that with this group of supernatural hunters, as well as the arrival of the vampire lord, Theodoric, that Seattle was about to become an important fixture in underworld politics. Whoever held it would be in a position of tremendous power. Though perhaps more importantly, the men her servants had described could potentially create a brood of daughters the likes of which neither vampire or human could stand against. Yes..this was far too tempting an opportunity to pass up.

It started early into the night, and happened almost as soon as it had begun. Ophelia had a small of followers infiltrate Seattle bit by bit until they were indistinguishable from the mortal population. At the exact moment, several known vampire lairs were suddenly attacked by disguised tryks. The smaller populations were slaughtered instantly in the initial surprise while the larger ones were decimated and trying to hold back the attackers in the boughs of their lairs with superior firepower.

In the news it looked almost as if some kind of gang warfare was going on. A nightclub, an office building, and a motel. Police had the areas cordoned off, though all attempts for them to enter the buildings had resulted in bloody deaths.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree @ 09:59 pm

[info]nextgen_holiday:

Each year toward the end of December people come together with friends and family to celebrate and exchange gifts. The atmosphere is light, merry and there is plenty of cheer to go around. Holiday music fills the air while bright colorful lights light up the nights. Mistletoe is placed in strategic locations and people are willing caught under it.

It's a time of celebration, even for superheroes.

seattle at night @ 11:46 am

[info]aerosmithette:

So there were vampires in Seattle.  Alright, that just meant she needed to have a wooden stake with her at all times, among other things.  Now was one of those good times, being nighttime and walking alone.  Marie felt more confident in her ability to protect herself, now that she was aware of the dangers of the night.  Well, at least one of the dangers of the night.

And maybe they were aware of her and her knowledge, too, because not a single predator of the night had tried to attack her.  It's possible they learned their lesson when Bram took care of them the other night.

Time Honored Tradition - Rate The Babe @ 07:52 pm

[info]brit_sorcerer:

The annual tradition of Rate the Babe was usually held at the Avengers mansion, but this year it would be held at Excalibur's headquarters in London. Quinn was more than happy to play host and set up refreshments. There was of course plenty of beer and it was accompanied by pub food.

Quinn was already on his fourth beer when the guys started arriving.

All Hallow's Eve @ 11:14 am

[info]nextgen_holiday:

All Hallow's Eve, or Halloween as it has been come to be called, is a popular holiday with children and adults alike. It is a holiday that had its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain or Summer's End. Samhain celebrated the end of the "lighter half" of the year and the beginning of the "darker half".

On this evening the barriers between this world and the Otherworld were believed to be thin and the spirits, good and bad, of the dead could pass through. The spirits of the family's ancestors were welcomed in while evil and bad spirits were warded off by the wearing of masks and costumes. The costumes and masks disguised one as a harmful spirit and avoided harm from others.

It was also a harvest celebration and time to take stock of food stores for the winter. Livestock were slaughtered and the meat prepared for storage. It was the final harvest of the year and the crops were then stored for the winter. Celebrations included bonfires and tales of the family's ancestors.

It was a celebration of the dead and of the harvest.

Today we dress up in scary and not so scary costumes and masks and go door to door for candy or attend costume parties. It is a night for revelry, pranks and fun.

The Hunt is On @ 08:11 pm

[info]living_dhampir:

The area was known in certain underground circles as being one of Seattle's largest vampire population centers. The Patriarch had arranged for Greg to attain a scent from one of the vampires killed by the tryk. Now they were spread out, but not too far from each other, keeping in contact. Tyler himself was perched on a rooftop, allowing him to scan for suspicious movements.

Night Patrol (open) @ 07:25 pm

[info]dolemecknight:
Current Location: Seattle, Washington
Current Mood: anxious

It had been a few weeks since Dolemeck had ended up in Seattle. In that time, he lost someone, he found someone, he met new friends, got a new job, and he discovered a new purpose for himself. He agreed he would help Bram, Tyler, and their friends look for any supernatural beings. It was odd, but such a pact made him feel more at home than when he was in Manhattan by himself. This place, it made him feel welcome.

He had finally been to a barber shop for the first time and had his hair cut much shorter (as Bram spoke of how having long hair would be one more thing an enemy could grab, and his managers at work were not happy with him having waist length hair). It was short in the back, and long in the front, going past his chin a little bit. It was odd how changing one's hair and location could make a man feel brand new.

"I should have done this sooner." He whispered to himself as he shadow ported from one alley to the next. He was hellbent on finding the other two escaped demons from limbo who tried to drag him back there. But so far, he was unable to find them, or much of anything. Then again, most supernatural beings would not be stupid enough to make themselves so easy to find. But then again, what was he?

As he thought more on this, Dolemeck shadow ported once more. He could find nothing, so he decided to look for a bar to go to for some fun.

Next Stop.... Seattle? @ 11:32 am

[info]dolemecknight:
Current Location: Seattle, Washington

Dolemeck was finally getting used to his life being somewhat normal. No longer was he afraid of himself or "sin". He was content with taking things in moderation and exploring all the possibilities there were in this new world. And that lead him to take chances he would not normally take.

One of those chances happened to be taking a train ride across the country to visit his adoptive parents. Sure, he could have requested a private flight from the Atlas Foundation, but he wanted to see what a train was like. After-all, exploring new things was a good thing for him.

The ride was uneventful. Dolemeck would have to switch trains in a few states, and when he did, he would send Nikki Coulson and Derek Woo a post card with news of his trip. He could have texted, but postcards were just so... whimsical to him. Right now, the train was pulling into Seattle, Washington. It was the last station in which he would have to switch trains.

As he sat in his car on the train, Dolemeck was busy penning another letter to Nikki, when the lights started to flicker. This happened at times on the train, so there was nothing to worry about. Right?

"Dolemeck..."

The voice that called him was somewhat demonic in nature. It sounded like one of the many demons in limbo, but how could that be!? His own eyes started to glow red as he stood up and away from the table he was seated at. Despite the darkness of the train car he was in, he could see a few pairs of red eyes looking back at him.

"Bloody hell..." he cursed under his breath, slowly reaching for his backpack in the overhead compartment. All of those bright rd eyes appeared to be focused on him.

"It's not fair! You get to be happy! You get to live in this world! You are not suffering like us!" The voice hissed out. Other voices could be heard as well, but they were cackling madly. "It's time to come home, Dolemeck... it's time to suffer."

"I AM home!" he shouted back, causing the demons to cackle more. He slung his backpack over his shoulders while his mind started to race. Everyone on this train was in danger because of these... things. If he stayed on board, they might start pulling innocent souls into limbo or just tear them apart. The best tactic he could think of was to get the demons off the train and chase him. From there, he might be able to get some space to be able to battle without casualties.

Just as the demons lunged for him, Dolemeck shadow ported himself out of the train, and across the street from the tracks of Seattle. His shadow port caused the demons to lunge out of the window of the train car he was in. Thankfully, the train car did not derail, and all of the demons appeared to be focused on him. That was a good thing, right? Well, for everyone else it was!

He needed to get more space between himself and the demons, to get them out of the public eye. The fact it was night helped, but Dolemeck did not wish to take any chances. So, he ran.

Chow Down (Meme Response) @ 12:56 am

[info]devilonstrings:

Jo idly runs a finger along the rim of her glass, looking distracted as she waits for Greg to get back. After the latest skirmish with the vampires, it felt... well, the world felt like a marching band headed towards a banana peel. You knew the real chaos was coming, you were just holding your breath until it hit.

Meanwhile, Greg had asked her if she'd be his tester for rolling out a new pub menu for the bar. She'd agreed; and since it was still a young man and woman meeting alone for a meal, she'd dressed up a little bit. Nothing fancy, just enough to gauge a reaction, with a new blouse and skirt.

Just some not-so-normal people in a laundromat @ 08:11 pm

[info]magic_hands:

It was a common thing for Martin to do, teleport to a city that sounded mildly interesting and go exploring. Manny had been going with him for walks around Boston to get more used to being around people and crowds, and he tried from time to time to walk the less crowded streets himself sometimes, which was what he was up to now. Seattle had had a demon infestation apparently some time back, which meant it was a prime location for some exploring, maybe he'd even find some demons to hunt!

After walking around, hands in his pockets, on the mostly emptier streets during the day, Martin saw some crowds up ahead and frowned, slightly worried. He had no idea what the crowd, a rather small one honestly, was there for, it could've been a protest or a group going to a game of some sort, but it still made him uncomfortable. Rather than attracting attention by teleporting away in the middle of the street, Martin noticed someone exit a nearby door and he hurried in before the door could shut.

Hands still in his pockets, he surveyed the place. It was annoyingly loud, the sounds of a bunch of washing machines going at once tended to be, but it was rather empty which was good. So Martin hopped onto one of the laundromats many machines and decided to wait for the crowd outside not too far away to pass by or disperse.

Greg sighed. New York was not one of his favorite cities, but it was home to one of his favorite music clubs. He only came to New York to visit that club. Right now he was not at that club, instead he was standing in an incredibly long line to get a coffee. He needed coffee. It had been a long night and he needed something to get his blood pumping.

The Missing @ 07:00 pm

[info]nextgen_misc:

The number of missing young adults in Seattle had risen steadily in the past two months. Posters of the missing young adults were put up on telephone poles, bulletin boards in local businesses and anywhere else people were allowed to put up signs. Loved ones searched for the missing persons and continued to plaster the city with the missing posters.

A young girl, probably around the age of twenty two, stumbled down the sidewalk about a block from the Wolf's Den. Her clothes were torn and dried blood stained one forearm. She tripped on the uneven sidewalk and fell to her knees.

Meme: Barfight @ 03:55 pm

[info]living_dhampir:

Tyler was bushed as he came into the bar. He'd been combing the streets to try and learn the latest in vampire activity in Seattle, but hadn't had much luck. His contacts were being surprisingly tight-lipped, which made him think the Patriarch was starting to flex his newly gained muscle in the city. Tyler tiredly plopped down on a stool.

Settling In(Open to Nightstalkers) @ 12:18 am

[info]harkerlegacy:

Since it seemed like he was going to be staying in Seattle for while Bram had been a busy boy getting himself set up. Cheap costing motel rooms were fine for him while traveling around but if he was going to be staying some place for more than a few days he wanted something a little nicer. So he had bought himself a penthouse apartment and had been upgrading it to fit his needs. His contractor he was fairly certain thought he was crazy at this point but didn't complain to much with how much he was paying him.

Taking a break from construction and getting the a better sense of the lay of the land Bram headed over to the Jazz bar the others liked to hang out at to get a few drinks. Bram ordered a beer from his seat at the bar and took a look around the room.

On The Hunt (Open to Nick) @ 09:03 pm

[info]fullmoonfever:

New Orleans. Not one of Greg's favorite cities. It was usually too warm, too humid and the smells were almost overwhelming. If he could have avoided it he would have, but his prey had come to this cesspool and Greg had no choice but to follow.

A vampire had left a trail of corpses in Seattle and Greg had gotten close. The vampire fled and Greg had tracked him to New Orleans following the corpses the vampire left in his wake.

Greg stood outside the club he had seen the vampire enter earlier and waited for him to come back out.

Unknown to Greg, someone watched him and had set a trap for Greg to walk into.

Sleepless with Fear in Seattle @ 09:02 am

[info]nextgen_adult:
Current Location: Seattle

Dr. Stephen Strange, Sorcerer Supreme of Earth, hovered over Seattle in his astral projection form. Earlier, he'd seeded the city with very special Darkhold invitations, directed to those who would be easiest to turn to his will. There would be no exchange of innermost desire for a soul-destroying payment. Those who accepted would be his to twist and he intended to twist every drop of humanity from them to use in his spells to open the doorways for demons to enter the world.

The first screams were sweet. The next were savored.

Monsters were alive and devouring Seattle.

She is very pleased and decides that she wants just a little bit more. Affection is something she gives freely and this is just simply time to talk.

She rolls and curls around Greg smirking at him. "I art glad I found you again Gregory. Thou art as I remember."

She needed coffee so badly so she parked the car and let out a groan. She might need a hand getting out of the car at this point.

"Mornin' Greg," she grumbles trying to not face plant on the steering wheel. Once she has coffee and something terrible for her she'll feel better.

Nightstalkers vs Morlun: Endgame @ 12:47 pm

[info]nextgen_baddie:

It had taken Morlun considerable time since that impropmtu battle with so many unusual idividuals, but now he was healthy. He had tracked the wolf to a nearby park. He smirked lightly. He could also sense the totem of the one with the vampire bat, though he was a distance away. He couldn't sense if the other three were here, but it was a possibility. Did they mean to ambush him? It was an amusing thought. Even the five of them together could not best him. A surprise attack against the wolf was pointless at this juncture. Sometimes it was best to just be frank.

"Good evening, Mr. Price."

Regrouping @ 10:47 pm

[info]fullmoonfever:

Greg wiped down the mahogany bar with a clean rag in preparation of opening for the night. He had bought the bar two weeks ago and so far it had been keeping him extremely busy. He had the idea of buying an establishment before he went out to LA and after talking to his father the idea became more concrete. When he returned to Seattle he purchased space and got things set up. The Wolf's Den opened a few days ago and had been crowded every night since.

His staff, bartenders and waitresses, have done an excellent job so far and Greg had done well when he hired them. He finished wiping and threw the rag into the sink under he bar. They wouldn't open for a few hours yet, but right now there would be a few people stopping by.

He went to the door.

She had much less than him as she had been feeling a little lazy and had taken her time drinking and now she is just watching him.

This is incredibly comfortable. It had been sometime since she had felt this comfortable around anyone. It was nice and had been very nice.

"Art thou comfortable, Greg," she asks out loud while peering at him. She was willing to get something else to drink or to move if need be.

I arise from dreams of thee
In the first sweet sleep of night,
When the winds are breathing low,
And the stars are shining bright.

And a spirit in my feet
Hath led me -- who knows how?
To thy chamber window, Sweet!

The wandering airs they faint
On the dark, the silent stream--
And the Champak's odours
Like sweet thoughts in a dream;
The nightingale's complaint,
It dies upon her heart,
As I must on thine,
O belovèd as thou art!

O lift me from the grass!
I die! I faint! I fail!
Let thy love in kisses rain
On my lips and eyelids pale.
My cheek is cold and white, alas!
My heart beats loud and fast:
O press it to thine own again,
Where it will break at last!

A Beautiful Sight, We're Happy Tonight, We're Walking In a Winter Wonderland (Midnight Sons) @ 08:32 pm

[info]nextgen_holiday:

Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man.

(no subject) @ 09:31 pm

[info]nextgen_baddie:

When you lived for centuries, patience and waiting came easy. He had waited and watched the Price boys for awhile before making his move. The Price boys were unique, even for werewolves, and the situation had to be handed delicately.

The Price boys were predictable and it made planning easier for Dracula.

The time to make the first move came when the boys had just returned to Gregory's apartment. Dracula let himself in and surprised the two. They shifted into werewolf form of course, but Dracula used his hypnotic powers on them. Within a few moments the Price boys were under Dracula's control.

Now it was time to use them against these foolish mortals who had dared to interrupt his plans.

"It is time to go," he told the two werewolves.

They both howled.

Dracula would lead them into the streets and to a popular night club. There he unleashed the two werewolves upon the club-goers.

Sirens blared in the night as police responded to the disturbance.

Old Offenses @ 09:10 am

[info]nextgen_baddie:

Dracula had spent quite some time in the Windy City, longer than he had originally planned. Sure he had plans elsewhere in the world, but for now Chicago had his attention. If he was going to stay longer, he would need information. He did not like being in one place where he didn't know as much as he could. It had taken some time to set up a network. Minions had to be created and sent out. Then information had to be gathered and processed.

Dracula did not like that there were other vampires in the city. Old ones, older than he was, and ones he couldn't control. It was unsettling, but he knew they would leave him be. He was Lord of the Vampires and they would not challenge him. He in turn would not bother them.

Another interesting thing he learned was that there were werewolves in the city. Not just any werewolves. Members of the accursed Russoff line. Two of them were here in Chicago. This caused him some concern. Dracula wasn't one to let old offenses go unpunished. He remembered quite clearly the Russoff who had dared to rescue a woman slated to be one of Dracula's brides.

Thing were going to have to be done. Dracula could see the benefits of having werewolves in his service.

Labor Day (Open to Midnight Sons) @ 02:27 am

[info]fullmoonfever:

Greg had thought about going back to LA for the holiday weekend to see his family, but a gig came up at the last moment and decided that playing music was much better than dealing with family. The gig was Sunday night and on Monday Greg found himself in his favorite club, putting back beers and listening to jazz music. It was his idea of a perfect holiday.

A Night At Mac's @ 03:19 am

[info]fullmoonfever:

Greg stepped off the small stage and headed for the bar. The final set was over and he had the rest of the night free. A friend of his had called earlier in the evening and asked if he wanted to sit in on drums for a friend of his. Greg was getting known as the go to guy when a band member bailed at the last second.

Greg didn't mind. He liked playing and when he wasn't playing he sat in clubs and watched others play. The extra cash didn't hurt at all, but cash wasn't something that Greg paid much attention to. Music had become his life's passion and thankfully he had the means to pursue it.

Mac's was was pretty full, Greg managed to find an empty bar stool and slid onto it. He motioned to the bartender and a moment later a glass of Scotch was set in front of it. He wanted a smoke, but the stupid city had banned smoking in all bars and restaurants. After his drink he'd go outside to have a quick smoke.

Repair My Way Before It Breaks Me @ 04:30 am

[info]fullmoonfever:

Greg woke up the morning after the events at Vitae in the woods...somewhere, naked and disoriented. He sat there for awhile trying to remember what happened and how he got out here, but for the life of him he couldn't remember. There was the club and the group of them going in, but then nothing. There had to have been black magic involved and his uncontrolled werewolf state took over, but how the fuck did he end up in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere? He had been expecting to wake up in an alley somewhere as had been the case on a number of occasions.

He started walking and eventually came to a small town. Thankfully it was summer and some people still hung laundry out to dry. The wash line was relieved of a few items and Greg made his way to a phone. He called a friend of his in Chicago to come and get him. He sat on a bench in a park until his friend arrived.

When he got back to Chicago he went back to his place and got drunk beyond coherent thought. He spent the next few days drinking and smoking and not giving a shit about anything else.

When he needed fresh air again, he ventured out to park himself on a bar stool in a jazz club.

It isn't a party until someone bleeds. @ 08:32 pm

Portals, teleportation spells and ways are useful but when it comes to getting down to a suspicious club in the darker neighborhoods of Chicago, SUV was more efficient.  It would also trigger fewer magical sensors so if Vitae was tuned to such things, arriving by car would give them a few moments advantage over the shadowy figures suspected to be murderers for Dracula.

Shelly couldn't help but think of Charlie Manson as she turned the last corner and parked her SUV in the darkness down the street from the club.  A maniacal leader, brainwashed followers carrying out horrific deeds for master.

"Okay.  Yeah.  This place gives me the creeps.  Let's go see if we can get in.  The website said it was a private club, right?  Most of those are pretty strict.  There's this place, The Mercury in Seattle...definitely not stranger friendly.  Grab your equipment folks."

Shelly herself took a deep breath and said a few quick prayers to the loa before getting out of the car and heading up to the door.  There was a guard there, pale and creepy looking as all of the rest of the cultists they'd encountered had been but instead of stopping them, the man smiled darkly and opened the door without a word.  In fact no words were exchanged at all, just that creepy smile.

Shelly's blood ran cold.  This...wasn't good.

Greg felt guilty for walking out of that little impromptu meeting and leaving Michelle there by herself. He would have stayed, but him and black magic didn't mix and he was really glad that he had been given a heads up. It was bad enough that he had the werewolf curse, but it was worse with the demonic blood inside of his veins.

He knocked on the door of her apartment as he smashed a cigarette out under the heel of his shoe.

In a darker area of Chicago, there's an apartment building that has seen better days. It's still livable but doesn't look nice at all. And it has one resident, the man that owns it. Gene Kalso, aka The Breaker. To the untrained eye the building is normal. But to those with the right abilities, the building has some pretty good mystic defenses. There are some security cameras cleverly hidden outside too.

He's in the lobby tonight, watching a TV and eating some pizza. The lobby is pretty nice and fixed up and the casually dressed Gene's got his feet propped up on the desk. A security camera overhead watches the door but Gene knows some of his contacts are coming and bringing him something interesting. Something about a body and a laptop. Gene wasn't paying attention to the phone call. But he's still waiting.

"Man, these Mythbusters losers are just jokes," Gene laughs as he takes a swig of the beer he's got with him.

Mother's Day @ 01:24 am

[info]nextgen_holiday:

Mothers are the place that we call home.
On them we rest our heads and close our eyes.
There's no one else who grants the same soft peace,
Happiness, contentment, sweet release,
Erasing nighttime tears with lullabies,
Restoring the bright sun that makes us bloom. - Anonymous

Chicago After Hours (open) @ 01:27 am

[info]fullmoonfever:

Gregory Price slipped out of the Kingston Mines club and out into the mostly empty streets of Chicago. The night air was crisp as it tended to be during the early spring. The wind blew, which is Chicago was totally not a surprise, and Greg wrapped the trench coat he normally wore around him.

He bowed his head and started walking back toward his apartment.

The hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he stopped walking. Something was not right. Greg looked around, but didn't see anything or anyone. He didn't like the feeling of this.

He shoved his hands in his pockets and started walking again.
