As Jonas revved up for the last song of the day, Kobe smiled brightly at the crowd. The critics had been wrong. It was a peace rally that had gone off without a hitch and no sign of death eaters, anywhere! The extra security must really be doing its job, and everyone was having a blast. She'd even seen some aurors bouncing around to the music, too! Kobe was incredibly proud of her husband, and she looked up to the clear blue sky with a wide, toothy grin.

It faded slightly, however, as some dark clouds began to roll in over the park. Remarkably fast clouds, which didn't seem natural and were already thundering loudly. The weather report had claimed they would have clear skies all day, so this was strange and----Kobe slammed her hands over her ears as the loudest roll of thunder clapped itself over the park. Immediately the clouds seemed to open up and rain began to pour down on the crowd like buckets. Well--if bad weather was the worse of their problems, they'd done a pretty good job, right?

Kobe gasped as a bolt of green lightening shot through the crowd, followed by the terrified screams of the concert goers.

"No, nonono----" she let out from the side of the stage. Where had they all come from? The bloody sky? Kobe started towards Jonas, to pull her husband off the stage because while they had met during a catastrophe, she really did not feel like enduring another one, "Jonas!" she screamed, but was thrown off balance as the stage began to creak and shake as if an earthquake was beginning to rumble underneath.

Peace didn't stand a chance, these days.

Frank was so sick of having to deal with death eaters. Sick of dealing with the shit they created, sick of constantly getting on the scene second, and sick of the fact that for every person they killed, the more they were winning. Winning! Voldemort and his drones were--- winning, they had the upper hand on the Order, there was a bloody traitor for fuck's sake (of course they still had no idea who it was). It was--- so frustrating, beyond frustrating! It was like he was doing nothing with the advancements they were making!

And-- and you would think with all the attacks and deaths rising, people would have some common sense! A peace rally? That had been attacked in the past? It was very obvious how today would plan out, yet here people were, acting like nothing was wrong until death eaters descended from the sky in the middle of a raging storm. They would need a miracle to turn the tables at this point.

Well. Frank took in a deep breath of air, his chest rising as his body grew where he stood. At least there were other aurors here in addition to the Order. It would help.... maybe they would even catch someone. He raised his wand high to shoot a quick spell at the falling debris of the stage. Deciding to start there first, he made his way over there as quickly as possible--- the heavy rain made it difficult to see and walk without slipping. Lovely.

"Watch out!" he yelled, pushing the closest person to him out of fire from a green light.

Having applied a water-repelling charm to his mask, John could see quite clearly who had pushed the very fortunate blood traitor out of harm's way. That had been a curse his father had thrown. John had never known his father to miss. It made his blood boil, a bit, to know that it was Frank who'd been the culprit.

"It's Longbottom!" John roared over the rain in his father's direction, knowing that was all need be said about their foe. Longbottom was a cursed name in their circle. John knew it would bring them great merit to overthrow the Auror and Order member.

John looked to his father, who nodded as they split and edged toward Frank, each throwing hexes and curses. It nearly made John laugh to know Longbottom didn't stand a chance.

Frank didn't have time to see who it was he had pushed out of harm's way. Within moments, two dark figures had emerged out from the crowd toward him. Shit, really? He mentally sighed as his body revved up--- a very interesting feeling if one could ever experience. It was strange; with every fight his brain seemed to tire, but his muscles moved faster, reacted quicker and perfect spells and hexes just came to him. That wasn't... normal, he knew, but he hadn't died yet, so.

Dodging both wands at once, he pushed the person behind him even further back and slid to the right in an attempt to focus the death eaters attention in on him. Not that they really needed another reason to direct all their attention on him. Frank was fairly certain he accomplished that well on his own, regardless of other people around him or not.

Luckily Frank had the foresight to instill protego on himself to prevent minor hexes from causing too much damage (he couldn't dodge everything), but that still left him very much on the defense end of this duel in every form of the word. Taking a step forward, he held his ground and stopped moving back from them. Aiming at the taller hooded figure, he sent an immobilizing hex mixed in with a silencing charm and a binding curse to the other. At least one had to hit, he hoped.

Today of all days, the peace rally was the last place that she'd wanted to be. Her sister had been delivered back to her such a short time ago, they hadn't been able to save her hand - this was difficult, deciding to protect all these people who were too stupid to stay at home and do a better job than this at not getting killed. She clenched her teeth tightly and looked around for the Aurors that she knew would be visible.

That was the point at which she spotted Frank in the chaos, apparently single-handedly dueling two Death Eaters. Now, it wasn't that she thought Frank was incapable, really - it was more of an issue that it was not at all fair. Frank was out-numbered and would be having twice as many hexes getting tossed at him. She wasn't going to have any of that, and when she spotted those goddamned Death Eater masks Marissa felt anger flare up. During the time that her sister had been held captive, she'd tried to think up charms that would hurt the people that had cut off Jinty's hand in the most creative of ways.

She growled out a hex toward the smaller of the two figures as she pressed through the crowd. If it hit, he'd feel a strange sensation across his skin, as if he were suddenly wearing a robe ... and it was growing smaller and smaller by the moment, tightening around him. If it grazed, he'd feel it only on the limb it hit closest to.

Marissa hadn't taken off the invisibility cloak yet, and she didn't intend to. Hopefully she hadn't given away her position, but just in case she tried to run a sizeable distance without letting the cloak drop to throw off the Death Eaters.

Derek had told him to stay far, far away from the peace rally. Which Dirk had been planning to do, of course, because he didn't particularly like crowds or the kind of music that was going to be played there. Oh, and he didn't like the extremely high chances one had to be killed by death eaters at one of these things. So he'd made the conscious decision not to attend the rally and keep himself alive.

It wasn't really his fault that he'd gotten lost on his way to meet Zora for lunch in their new neighborhood. He'd had his nose nearly pressed to his map when it had begun to rain, and Dirk looked up miserably toward the sky, wondering why none of the three weather reports he'd listened to during the day had mentioned any chance of rain. It must really be nice, being a weatherman, no one could really blame you for what mother nature did.

Or what---death eaters did! Holy!

Dirk blanched as he realized he'd walked straight into the park where the peace rally was being held without noticing. His map flew out of his hands and his arms went out as if he was trying to keep himself balanced. Okay, crowd of people running in every direction, spells being thrown every which way, screaming, lots and lots of screaming. He should probably be screaming too, but was in too much shock to do much of anything. Wait, no--he could run, he could definitely run.

His feet seemed to get the message a few seconds later, and Dirk rushed away, hoping to all hell that Zora hadn't managed to find her way over here either. Boy, he really did not need any of this right now, nope, he had a great big presentation this afternoon and---All thoughts were shot out of his head as he was tackled to the ground, and for a fleeting second Dirk was sure that it was Derek knocking him off his feet to keep out of the way of a spell, but was terrifically horrified when he managed to twist around and see that it was a death eater with his arms tightly wrapped around him.

"Cresswell!"

"Bwahh---!" he managed to yelp before the gloved hand of the death eater covered his mouth and Dirk was roughly pulled up. Why did the death eater know his name? Why hadn't he killed him? What the hell (this was serious, Dirk never cussed) was going on?

As much as Derek wanted to believe that the peace rally would go untouched by chaos, he knew that was much too much to expect. This was practically an open invitation for trouble to happen, and these deluded flower children refused to act as if they knew better. This, he thought grimly, was just a scrimmage match for the other side. A practice round, even though they would be killing themselves trying to ensure nobody was hurt, sustaining unbelievable casualties attempting to protect everyone else, when this was all just a game to the enemy. A lazy way to pass a Sunday. His teeth clenched harder as he wound his way through the crowd, here on official Ministry business.

He almost didn't believe it when the concert made it through to the end, not so much as a set-change gone wrong to disturb it. The unease in Derek's stomach flip-flopped as he realized this could only mean that something terrible was going to happen.

Once the first curse had been cast, it was his duty to ensure that the pandemonium did not escalate to a dangerous point—ushering people out, stopping whatever masked wizards came into his path, but to clear the area. That was all fine and good in theory, but shepherding civilians in the middle of a battle was not as fluidly done in execution. Having just disarmed a teenager who thought joining in the antics would be amusing, a familiar voice crying out caught his attention.

"No!" His head snapped up and he looked around wildly, stumbling away from a spell rather than avoiding it. There, in the corner of his eye, he saw a figure tackled down, struggling. Of all people here today, that was not supposed to be one of them! Damn, did anyone ever listen to him? Tunnel-vision kept him out of harm's way as Derek practically flew over to his cousin, blasting the Death Eater muffling him with a flick of his wand. But he didn't slow as he approached Dirk, having to content himself with the briefest of visual checks to ensure Dirk wasn't hurt as his knuckles swung out to connect with the recovering masked wizard's jaw, taking him to the ground.

Taking aim with another fist, he was readying his wand when he shouted over his shoulder, "GET OUT OF HERE, MAN! GO!"

That had been the most terrifying five seconds of his life! And he'd interrupted the wedding ceremony of the chief of the most vicious clan of trolls with a sneezing fit!

It took Dirk a second to realize what had happened and what was still going on. His position on the soggy, muddy ground was not a good place to be, and his hands dug into the dirt before he was able to push himself up to his feet. His wand, his wand---Derek was yelling at him to run, but how could he leave when his cousin was battling a death eater after just saving his life? That--that masked villan had known his name, he'd tackled him out of everyone in the crowd! Dirk hadn't even planned on being there, so why had he---none of this made any sort of sense!

Dirk realized, as he grabbed hold of his wand's handle with both hands, that he had rarely used significant spells in his entire time as a wizard. He did class work and whatever was required for him for inter office things, but goblins did not appreciate a wizard's magic, and he'd never had a reason to defend himself, so--

WHERE WERE ALL THESE DEATH EATERS COMING FROM? Dirk let out a shout of surprise as a death eater lunged toward Derek from behind, somehow remembering the stunning spell from fourth year defense class. Dirk watched the death eater drop to the ground and he couldn't tell him his heart was pounding because he was absolutely terrified or more than a bit proud of himself.

"I can't leave!" he let out, pointing his wand out as he spun around, jabbing irritating spells at the death eater he'd taken out. Whoa. He had taken out a death eater. No one at work was going to believe that.

"You have to f—" Derek's aggravated cry was cut short when a body slumped at his cousin's feet, rendering him speechless and rather shocked. Not that he didn't love Dirk with all his might, but the boy seemed a bit more like the screaming and running type, than the knock-'em-dead-or-unconscious type. "Well, you are a Dobbs," he offered under his breath, corners of his mouth picking up slyly.

He'd lost his focus for one moment too long, though. The Death Eater he'd had pinned before Dirk had staved off the other attacker had lulled Derek's grip on him into loosening, knocking him over to the side and rolling on top of him, wand readying itself for some kind of nasty business. Derek didn't wait to find out. He tensed and projected as much force as he could into headbutting the Death Eater at the apex of throat and chin, using the opportunity lay his hand flat on the solid mask and push as hard as possible. They didn't know how to defend themselves without a wand in their hand. He knocked it out of the wizard's struggling hand.

"All right, Dirk?" he called out, not daring to lift his eyes from the Death Eater he'd captured. "Now," he began mostly to himself, a kind of manic idea prying at the back of his mind, the hand not pinning the man down by the throat gesturing lazily with his wand, "let's unmask the bastard, shall we?"

Dirk gaped, wanting to whack Derek on the arm for even thinking of taking the death eater's mask off. No, no, that couldn't be a good idea! What if---Dirk knew, honestly, that there was only a man under there, but he had this very vivid image in his head of some lightening bolt filled smoke monster that would take over the entire countryside if Derek lifted the mask.

"Derek---!" he yelped, already scrunched up from the still frantic crowd around them. Dirk pointed his wand shakily at the mass of death eater on the ground, and with one eye peering with morbid interest the mask was lifted off the face of the culprit.

Dirk let out a loud gasp, and he dropped his stance, "That's Charlie Warrington!" he let out, waving his wand around frantically and sending off some golden sparks, "He works in my department, he---he just got a promotion!"

To a corner office, no less!

Derek paid no attention to the slippery mud he had to have been covered in, or the rain that ran down his face and into his eyes, obscuring his vision of the wizard's face in front of him. Instead, he drew his wand along the curve of the man's neck in a way that could only be described as delicate, teasing, the corners of his mouth turning up in a manner most uncharacteristic of himself. "Didn't even have to use my wand on you," he murmured. "How do you like that, you worthless fuck, felled by a filthy Mudblood because you can't fight like a man." Death was too good for a coward like Charles Warrington and his new promotion. Derek had a good mind to administer a little justice of his own.

The presence of his cousin nagged at his subconscious, however, and he turned his head from the unmasked Warrington, looking at the Death Eater at Dirk's feet, then at his cousin. "You need to leave, Dirk. Before something else happens, do you understand me? Get out. Now." His tone brooked no refusal.

He had every intention on jetting out of there, of getting away from the chaos and the mess, but Dirk felt frozen at the sight of Derek being---very unDerek-like. Instead of just arrested and immobilizing the death eater he was...well, to Dirk it looked and felt like he was actually going to kill the bloody death eater.

"Derek--" he said nervously, wiping at his face because the rain had begun to pour down harder. Dirk squatted, for a second wondering why he wasn't more nervous about being in a park full of death eaters, and gestured toward the unconscious sack of cloak on the ground. He knew this man, he'd shared coffee with him and jokes and---he had a kid, that was just..."Derek, just tie him up and---petrificus totalus! He won't be going anywhere and---don't---"

He couldn't say what he didn't want his cousin to do and continued to look around with a worried expression. Derek didn't need to kill the death eater, that would--that wasn't right, no matter how wrong the death eater was.

The jungles of Colombia seemed like a walk in the park compared to this peace rally. Well---Danielle decided she would never be able to use that saying properly again after this particularly nasty walk through a park. She'd been put on duty, surprised at the overwhelming amount of help that had been summoned for the event, but was glad (or miserable?) that she'd been sent. As if waiting for the climatic finishing guitar riff from the band, the death eaters and the storm had pounded upon the crowd, and she set into action.

Most of her work right now was to get to anyone who was injured, and heal them just enough to get the hell out of the park. Danielle was used to rough conditions, but it hadn't exactly been a warzone, or something where not specific targets were being shot at. Who could really find it within themselves to hurt innocent people like this? How could anyone---

"Are you all right!" she shouted through the rain to the next person she'd found. Danielle dropped to her knees and forced herself to keep her hands from pushing her hair out of her face because the rain was plastering it to her cheeks, "Can you move your leg!" It seemed to be in a rather awkward position.

Kizzy howled happily at the band on stage. She swayed and shimmied along to the music, much to the amusement of those around her. Admittedly, she wasn't in the most sober state of mind. She'd taken a vial of a high-inducing tonic moments after she'd arrived at the rally. She kept to the crowd, knowing Kobe would likely frown at her fore being whacked out of her mind, but hey, she was still having fun!

At least she was having fun until blokes in black robes and scary masks showed up. Kizzy stumbled forward as she tried to find her bearings as the rain poured, the thunder clapped, and the crowd stampeded around her.

She quickly found herself on the ground, dazed and staring at her leg, which was twisted in an awkward way. She couldn't feel the pain. She couldn't feel anything, actually, which is why she wondered how she ended up on the ground in the first place. She tried to stand but felt a sharp bite in her knee. That wasn't right.

Then someone was in her face and shouting. "What?" Kizzy said loudly over the rain and mayhem, frowning as she futilely tried to stand, getting herself thoroughly filthy in the process.

Danielle gawked the girl, who didn't seem to realize she was in a very miserable, very painful state. Maybe she'd been hit with a hex that numbed all the senses? As she drew closer, the smell of tonic and alcohol filled her nose and she frowned deeply at the girl.

"You're hurt," Danielle stated, looking around to see if they were in some sort of safe zone. The firework-like spells that were shooting around seemed to point to no, and Danielle bit her tongue, wondering how on earth she was going to get this girl out of here. Even if she did mend her leg, she was still intoxicated, and if she sobered her up, then the pain she was about to be in would be ten-fold. Certain spells and drinks (and who knows what else these magical teenagers were taking) were just too risky to mix.

Danielle decided, for the benefit of the girl, that she was going to have to mend her leg without...well, telling her she was going to mend her leg. That way she wouldn't freak out, and something could stay under her control.

"One..two--" Danielle muttered to herself, and with a crack of her wand she put the girl's knee back in place. Ouch.

This had been a very organized set up for the Order. There were some members patrolling the crowd as if they were typical concert goers, some were actually on duty for their jobs, and others, like Emmeline, were stuck under invisibility cloaks in designated, stationary locations along the perimeter. As frustrating as it was, Auror Booth had tipped them off that it was essential that they stay out of the way of the ministry-approved security, because wards and other spells that had been set up might not go over so well with people hiding under invisibility cloaks.

Emmeline was quite fine with not having to make her way through the crowd. She'd had a good spot by a tree, nice and shady, and had kept an expert watch on everything. The supposed final song began (there would have to be an encore or something, right?) and she was almost ready to call the day a success. Never do that during a war, though, and Emmeline kept her stand. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as she paced her allotted two meters of space.

She adjusted her cloak, and in the next second a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around her middle, pinning her arms to her side and lifting her off the ground. Emmeline could barely scream as she recognized the cloak of a death eater, and for a second wondered how insane this looked---the death eater was squeezing to death a large empty space---Emmeline couldn't even gesture for help as she was stuck under her cloak, invisible to everything around her.

What---how had they known she would be under here, right here in this spot----Emmeline growled and kicked back, hoping to do harm to a tender spot.

A peace rally.

It was a joke surely. When she had been informed, she and Amycus had laughed their heads off over it. Young people these days, so dreadfully naive, so stupid. There was nothing to be gained by doing this, not with the way the world was going, and Alecto Carrow was certainly glad that she had chose the right side a long time ago.

The squat, stocky witch squared her broad shoulders, her robe thick and casting half a shadow across her features, despite the warmth of the summer day. Aleco had sighed impatiently while she waited, until the fun finally began. The distorted cacophony of terrified screams and shrieks filled the air as the skies darkened were much better than the "music" that was playing earlier.

The sentry posted was covered in an Invisibility Cloak, as reported. The strong, burly woman wrapped her arms around what seemed to be thin air, but cackled as she felt flesh and bone. Definitely another female. Alecto was deterred only slightly when the Order member kicked back, and she squeezed even more tightly, while her other arm reached up to try and tug the cloak off.

"These cloaks are rather useful, aren't they?" she grunted. "Think I want one for myself."

It was a woman? Emmeline only knew of one female death eater, the infamous Bellatrix Lestrange (the Potters had lived with her for a month without realizing it was her, that was how good...or evil, she was--), so it was more of a shock to hear the voice of a woman, even though it was gruff. Emmeline continued to struggle, feeling a shortness of breath as the grip around her middle tightened.

She had no desire to lose her invisibility cloak, but it looked like this might become the case. Emmeline let out another shout before she managed to unclasp the front of her cloak. It gave her some slack, and after fighting and wriggling and kicking a bit more she managed to slide out of her cloak and drop to the ground at the death eater's feet.

Emmeline immediately scrambled away and from her spot on the ground shot a stunning hex directly at the death eater's mask. Forget trying to hide herself, they all knew who she was, they all knew where she lived. What did it matter anymore?

Jonas was happy -- no, elated -- no, giddy. So giddy that he couldn't stand in place as the band ripped through the second song of their set. He strutted over to his lead guitarist to sing on the same microphone through the chorus after a face-melting guitar solo. The rally was going off without a hitch. There had been so many wonderful speakers and performers, and he couldn't wait for the chance to bring out their special guest -- Robert freaking Plant! A muggle! Performing in his concert! He couldn't believe it was happening.

And then the world stopped. Jonas was walking back across the stage to his microphone when the clouds suddenly rolled in, which was rather odd and abrupt, but he kept performing. And then the rain started. He looked back to his band and after receiving shrugs, turned to the crowd.

"Well, it might be raining, mates, but--" he was cut off by a flash of lightening that struck in the middle of the park. Jonas stumbled back. "Oh, no..." he whispered fearfully to himself as he watched them apparate into the crowd. He'd known there would be a chance that Death Eaters would disrupt the rally, but he'd never imagined this.

Jonas whipped his head through the rain as he heard his name screamed after another clap of thunder. He knew that voice. "Kobe!" he shouted back and then the stage shook.

Jonas's eyes widened as he slipped and crashed onto the rocking platform. He tried to scramble to his feet but was left to feebly curl up as the stage exploded beneath him and he dropped, guitar still around him and all, to smash into the ground with the debris. Everything hurt after he landed, but he was certain he wasn't horribly wounded, he could still move and all.

Jonas started to get to his feet, but let out a cry as he was thrown into the air several meters and then dropped to smack against the ground. This repeated, again and again, as he flew higher and began to shout and weep as he felt bones breaking and gashes forming.

"Please, God, help me. Help them all," he prayed before he was inevitably knocked out by a blow to his head.

Harmony screamed and yanked her younger brother to crash into her as a lightening bolt struck a mere meter from them. But it wasn't just any lightening bolt, it was one that exploded into the ground and threw dirt into the air -- it was dark magic.

"No!" she shouted as her brother drew his wand, a look of utter contempt on his precious face as he took aim at a nearby Death Eater. "Sage, no!"

If the Death Eater attacked them, she had no way of defending herself. She couldn't even disapparate them! They'd come by port key!

Somehow, Harmony managed to wrench the wand out of her brother's hand in time and ducked to clutch him close to her chest as the thunder rolled and cracked, shaking the ground.

Turning to look around as she quickly backed them away from the Death Eater, she sought for help. Spotting a Hit Wizard, she dragged her struggling, twig of a younger brother in the wizard's direction.

"Help us, please!" she shrieked fearfully, reaching out to grab at the puce robes.

Ralph had told her specifically not to go to the peace rally. Miranda knew it was undoubtedly going to be another death eater attack, and she'd told him she would stay far away because, really. Did she need any more drama in her life? Did she want any more terrible things to happen to the people she loved and cared about? No, and Miranda wasn't going to sit around anymore while Ralph and her other friends went out and fought?

Nope.

"Harmony!" she called out, running at full speed toward her sister-in-law. How could Moses have let his wife, the mother of his child who could not perform magic on her own, out into an event like this? She grabbed onto her sister-in-law's sleeve and pleaded up to the hitwizard, "She's my sister! She's a squib, I'll get her out of here!"

There was no reason for the hitwizard to escort them away when Miranda could help Harmony and her brother out of the mess. She was there, she could apparate, she'd be fine. Miranda tugged hard on Harmony's arm to try and whisk her away to where the wards wouldn't stop her from disappearing. Miranda threw her arm out in front of Harmony to stop her in her place when the ground in front of them was blown away. Everyone around them was knocked to the ground, but Miranda scrambled up to her feet, hair plastered to her face as she hurled the nastiest hex possible at the death eater nearest them.

"Keep running!" she yelled at Harmony and Sage, "Give the boy his wand and run!"

Rodolphus had been biding his time for this day since the order came down that they were to attack the rally. He knew since the announcement of the rally that it was only a matter of time, but still, he had waited until the Dark Lord commanded it before he gave it real thought.

Apparating on the scene with a pop as soon as those dark clouds moved in, he stunned those nearest to him before they knew what was happening. He then took aim at the stage. It one flick of his wand to make the platform begin to quake. He laughed gleefully as he watched the blood traitors on the stage scramble about before he let loose a massively explosive charm that shattered the structure instantly.

He moved forward as he watched everything tumble to the ground. He then honed-in on the lead singer for the band that had been on stage. With another flick of his wand, he chuckled as the wizard was thrown skyward only to crash back into the debris. He repeated the process, again and again, preferring to play with prey before killing him.

Greta had gone to the peace rally every year since she was sixteen. And each and every year, she'd hoped things would be different. She was no longer that idealistic girl who thought everyone would learn to give peace a chance. No, Greta knew that there was a war on, and she was on the losing side. But damned if that was going to stop her. She didn't question why she was in the Order of the Phoenix. It wasn't about people who were special, or those whose abilities trumped others, both of which did not apply to her. It wasn't about what people could bring to the group that benefited them, though she knew her rising position amidst The Daily Prophet might one day prove to be invaluable. Simply, it was about people who believed in a cause, people who'd fight for that cause—people who'd die for that cause. Greta was one of them. But now, she thought, it might be time to show that she had a little of the fighting spirit in her, as well. It wasn't for herself—it was for the others whose lives were at stake, those who had not agreed to give them up in a battle they didn't know they were fighting.

She'd been backstage with her cousin, scanning the crowd from her vantage point for any sign of danger. They'd moved well and inconspicuously within the crowd, however, and until absolute bedlam had broken out, she'd not been able to spot a thing, not until Jonas had been flung from the stage. Her cousin was in hysterics, as were the crowds of people that dissolved into absolute terror. Greta had no clue what to do or where to start—there was too much going on. Yells from her cousin's husband grabbed her attention, though, and she knew immediately that she was the one nearest to help him. Looking wildly for his tormentor, she finally saw the Death Eater responsible standing some distance away.

Tearing out from the back-area and leaping off the stage, trying to avoid the skirmishing and fleeing all around her, she made a beeline for the masked figure with his wand raised directly at Jonas. She had a fleeting second to throw a prayer to the most conveniently located deity that she was helping, not hurting, as hexes issued from the tip of her wand.
