KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

“UNCLE ETHAN! TIME TO GET UP!”

It felt like a spring trap had been laid under his mattress, with how Ethan jolted out of bed. He landed haphazardly between the bedframe and the side table and let out a sound of acknowledgment of his nephew’s wake-up call. Ethan straightened up and sat on the edge of the bed, groggy from getting in too late from a bar crawl with Larkin and Nico. They had to christen the city with their presence the right way, and it had left him with a massive hangover on this early morning.

He winced as another round of banging erupted and Ethan managed to get to his feet. With some quick wand work he summoned over his sling and a pair of sweatpants.

“I’m up, I’m up!” he hollered in jest as he hurried to the door. Lee launched himself at his uncle’s legs the moment the door was open and Ethan swung him up with his free arm. His nephew snapped the strap of his sling with a wide grin and then clapped his hands together.

“We’re going to watch warm ups!” Lee exclaimed, looking back at his father who stood in the doorway. Ethan smiled at Andre, who looked like quite the tourist in his visor and---

“---Andre, is that a fanny pack?”

Andre grinned as he sent Lee racing off to wake his uncle. He had heard Ethan return far past midnight, and he couldn’t help but feel slightly pleased that a loud rambunctious seven year old was his wake up call. At least he was kind enough to stop Lee from waking him up when he first wanted to at six.

He looked down at what he was wearing at his brother’s prompting with a frown. “What? No, its a belt satchel. Very convenient.” He didn’t understand the look Ethan was giving him. Clearly his brother was unaware of the muggle fashions, because Tiberius had been very specific when he told him what he needed to wear. Going as far as lending him the satchel. “Tiberius said--” he trailed off as thoughts finally caught up with him. Tiberius had to dig the thing out of the very back of his wardrobe and it looked as if he had never worn it himself.

“I have terrible friends.” He said pulling the hat from his head, another insistence from McLaggen. He raised a brow at his son who was still messing with the strap of Ethan’s sling, causing the boys hands to still. “Warm ups for the Ballet, isn’t that right?”

Lee wrinkled his nose and shook his head looking up to his uncle. “He says it’ll be fun.” Andre couldn’t help but grin at the most unconvincing tone used by his son.
