Michal Conway Lynch Intervention
Seth had been meaning to ask Henry to be his best man for so long, he didn't even think twice about using The Tattler announcement as an opportunity. In hindsight, he probably should have spoken to Michal first. Now he wasn't responding to his owls, his floo calls, or even coming to the door. He needed to sort this out and quick. It was understandable his best friend his best friend was upset. There was a period of time Seth didn't speak to Henry. A long period of time. He couldn't exactly recall exactly, but there may had been a drunken conversation at some point where they spoke about being each other's best men. Seth was certain he laughed at that, certain he would never get married.

But he did once already, he eloped and told no one. So, clearly he had every right to be upset, but Seth couldn't admit he made the wrong choice. A lot had changed since those drunken nights. His brother pulled his life out of the drain. Turned him around. Seth would not be even getting married right now if it had not been for Henry. They had been through so much in the last two years. It couldn't be anyone else.

Michal didn't exactly make the decision difficult with his reaction to the news that he was engaged. He didn't know what else to do to alleviate this irrational fear that Michal had that he was suddenly abandoning him, and while making Henry best man didn't exactly help, he wasn't about to base his major life decisions around Michal's whimsy. He was though, going to get to the bottom of what ever was going on. Because amount of hostility Seth was getting, suggested there was more going on.

In fact, Michal had been in a funk for ages. And Seth tried to help, but there was only so much he could do when his friend shuts him down at every turn. Either way, he wasn't leaving today until Michal finally spilled where all this misdirected anger was coming from. Breaking into his house was easy. Though was it really breaking in if Michal's super kind, prettier and much smarter sister let him in? With a charming smile and a well placed bribe you could get anywhere. He placed the bottle of whiskey on the counter before starting to roam through his friends home. "Oi! I know your home, and I may have trapped you in here with some crafty spells, so you might as well come out and talk to me. Or not, I have all day, and it seems you have plenty of food for me to eat."

WORLD CUP PARTY!

Champions of the world. That's all there was really to say, wasn't it?

Charlie took in a long breath of the cool New York air, admiring the party that was being thrown for team Ireland. Them, being thrown for them! Holly was a riot, capturing pictures with everyone and demanding certain poses. Caden Flint was smiling, smiling from ear to ear! He and Saoirse had even danced for a song or two, or three, it was that kind of night. It felt like his entire life had led up to today's match, to this night.

He made his way to the bar, raising his hand to the bartender to bring him another round. Tomorrow was his last day in New York, and he meant to celebrate this night like it should be. Charlie slid onto the bar stool and shook some hands with passersby as he waited for his drink. It was really something, being part of the best team in the world---it hadn't sunk in, and he didn't think that it was something that would for a long time.

His foot knocked into the person sitting beside him as he turned back to the bar. Charlie grinned sheepishly, "Whoops, sorry."

ooc: Open to all participants of the World Cup, their friends, family, and guests!!

Savannah
Seth had spent the rest of his practice after his exchange with Savannah in a constant state of annoyance. He was sure that she hadn't meant it the way it sounded, but the words still settled under his skin. If your brother says nothing will fall apart, I trust that it won't. Well she hadn't just agreed to marry Henry, now did she? Seth knew that he had a lot to make up for, he had dug a pretty deep hole their first marriage, but he couldn't help but have hoped that her saying yes to his proposal meant that she trusted him.

He couldn't go back to having the first reaction being what did you do. And he certainly didn't want his wife relying on his brother to talk him out of doing things he shouldn't. By the time he made it over to Savannah's flat, Seth had managed to let go of most of his frustrations determined to talk this out as a level headed adult. If they had any hopes of their relationship to work, Seth had to know Savannah trusted him and his judgement. He knocked on the door as he let himself in, "Savannah?"

Hogsmeade Valentine's Spectacular! Friday, the 14th
Now, Holly was definitely not someone who enjoyed the frills and lace of Valentine's Day. Usually, she hated it, it was in the top five list of things she hated, but this year? She felt like celebrating. It had been a damn good year, and Holly was taking every opportunity to showcase the good bloody mood she'd been in. Sure, there had been its blips (McCormack owed her quite some bit), and each moment made her appreciate each and every day.

But that was the sort of sappy stuff she and her husband didn't say, so that was why she had insisted that their visit to Hogsmeade tonight was to crack jokes and judge the couples that took this holiday way too seriously.

It was turning out to not be as horrendous as one may have thought. Hogsmeade was a village on display, each store front lit up with lights, the street lamps giving off sprays of glitter and confetti as couples walked past. The different food places had set up heating spells around outside tables and counters, the aroma completely filling her every sense. The lake had turned into a beautiful ice rink, while a magical ferris wheel lit up the sky. The village had always amazed her, knowing that it was the only place in the country wizards and witches could be completely at ease with their magic outside of Hogwarts.

"Good thing they didn't let the kiddies out," Holly said, eyes catching sight of the castle in the distance. "They'd ruin the romance."

- Hogsmeade is open to all! The village streets are sort of like a Valentine's fair, hosted by Madam Puddifoot's (so you know there's some cheesy stuff).
- For some ADDED FUN, a little trickster has laced the chocolate supply with a truth serum. The amount of chocolate your character ingests, the more truthful/the longer they are under its spell. Soo...that could lead to some fun, y/y? >:D
- ALSO, for players on non British Isles teams, this is the last weekend to be home because practice for the WC starts after Valentine's Day! So get those feels out because you're shipping out!

New Year's Eve Masquerade! For Tuesday

Octavius believed hiring someone to organise an event for him meant they would actually organise an event for him. Unfortunately, that notion proved to be a false one when the organiser left him high and dry in the middle of the month, but Octavius persevered. With the help of himself, Mira, occasionally Lottie Sweeting, and an army of lackeys, the night of the masquerade had come together as beautifully as possible.

Lottie had, for once, actually done her job, and at either entrance of the grand foyer were attendants handing out beautifully crafted half-masks to party-goers, and collecting them as people left. The ballroom was majestic and shimmering, the music was softly thrumming, the drinks were pouring, and the mood was infectious. All in all, Octavius thought, it was a satisfactory night to end a rather satisfactory year. After the chaos and excitement that had chased him all throughout 1983, he was rather happy to have had a (comparably) quiet year.

"Can you make sure Miss Warbeck is ready to begin?" he murmured to an attendant nearby who then scurried off. The Wizarding Wireless Network had, after all, promised a wonderful surprise at midnight! Octavius needed to ensure everything went perfectly.

The flash of a nearby photographer made Octavius scowl, annoyed was he at even the few press witches and wizards who had paid handsomely to be at the charity event tonight. The publicity was good, no one could deny that, and the masks concealed everyone's identity at least marginally so there was no grievous intrusion on privacy, but that didn't mean Octavius enjoyed their presence.

He rolled up the sleeve of his dress robe to check his watch, then his eyes darted back to the stage. It was five minutes to midnight! What, for heaven's sake, was Celestina Warbeck taking so long to appear onto an already dressed stage? Shaking his head agitatedly, Octavius cut through a path through the brightly coloured bodies in the mingling crowd to check on his star performer.

OOC Read this for questions, or ask me! Fluid time, so feel free to thread before/after kisses. Again, the "compulsion" to find your kissing partner kicks in 5-10 minutes before midnight and could be anything from thinking you should walk and get some punch to being mystifyingly sexually attracted to the masked stranger at your side. HAVE FUN! GO WILD ♥ AND HAPPY NEW YEAR'S MY GORGEOUS GALS.

Open to Quidditch Guests!
She was a champion.

Holly wouldn't (and couldn't, since she was sure it was well-documented) deny that she had cried. Quidditch had been her life for so long, and to have this stretch of a career without a league cup to call her own, it was hard to deal with. Seasons were long and ehxausting, they took away all your time and energy, and to not win the cup meant that you'd just wasted the year. Sure, there were the fans, there was making personal records, and even the international circuit was fun, but Holly had needed this win so badly that she still got shivers when she thought about it. She'd done it, and she'd been the best.

She sighed, taking in the surroundings. Appleby Park had been transformed into a wonderful setting for the event, the spells on the stadium keeping the guests warm and the night sky bright above them. The league cup sat on its platform in the middle of the dance floor, looking like a glorious holy grail that she'd finally wrapped her hands around. Her husband was here somewhere, but she was lost in the sea of people. Teammates, competitors, agents, and the media, it was simply a night for the game she loved, and Holly couldn't remember a moment when she'd been happier with everything in her life.

As she made her way to the bar, she spotted one of her aforementioned teammates standing off and away from the rest of the guests. Holly, not one to ignore a teammate as she'd taken on the role this past season as, well, a mother-hen (but don't tell Theo), she couldn't ignore the nagging feeling in the back of her head.

"You're missing all the fun," she said, taking their elbow. When Holly finally got a good look at their face, she frowned, "What's wrong? It looks like you've seen a ghost."

Halloween Haunted Castle Event! Open to Everyone!
While she wasn't particularly keen on parties, she was set on saving wildlife. Everyone else seemed to rake in the galleons by throwing large events, no matter the scandals that erupted from them, so why couldn't they? Nora had conservatory's committee for quite some time now, and being the youngest by a good forty years, had devised this plan as a new and fresh way of funding. It helped greatly that she had friends that had access to some of the best party planners (or that she could twist Charlie Spinnet's ear until he helped her out), and things seemed to have turned out well. So far.

For the brave at heart, there was a grand maze that made its way throughout the haunted castle. Guests would be offered clues to get themselves to the ballroom, and if they were truly lost (as Nora was sure was to occur), for just a small donation (it's for charity), any money dropped into a clue box would light up a blue path down the correct route to lead the way out. With all the Gryffindors that Nora had put on the guest list, she was sure they were going to triple their goal.

There was a simpler route than the maze, which was simply to walk through the double doors to the dance floor. Nora was currently wavering between the two, having run out of pamphlets to give out at the front entrance therefore giving her no excuse to join the festivities. She felt rather exposed, as Delilah had stolen her cloak, and when someone tapped her shoulder she jumped nearly a foot in the air.

"Bloody hell!" she let out, spinning around. "You scared the life out of me!"

Michal!
It was clear that Michal was still upset with Seth. With Michal out, they hadn't even spoken since he showed up on his doorstep and punching him in the face. Which Seth was fine with letting that go on as long as it needed to for Michal to get over the fact that he had dated his sister secretly a decade ago. All in all, that could have ended in a thousand ways that were worse than him dealing with the silent treatment and a broken jaw (that was quickly fixed).

Seth was willing to let it go on as long as Michal needed right up until things happened with Savannah at the charity gala. He was meeting up with her to discuss the fact that he kissed her, not at all drunk and completely meaning to as soon as he had a free moment. Which would be after practice the day after next. In two days, Seth would have to have a very real, and hopefully mature conversation with his ex-wife whom he kissed, and he hadn’t even told his best friend about it yet.

He needed Michal, if anything to just listen to him. Because other than knowing that he didn’t regret kissing Savannah, he was so unsure about everything else. Did he still love her? Or was he just lonely and falling back into something familiar. He needed to talk it out with someone he trusted before he talked to Savannah. This was too delicate for him to just show up and hope he said the right thing. That he meant what ever it was he was going to say. Though he could possibly go to Henry, he’d really like the opinion of a friend at the moment.

Seth spotted him in the weight room on his way out of the pitch and couldn't pass the opportunity up. “I need to talk to you.” Seth said simply, standing in the doorway effectively blocking his only exit. This was bigger than a grudge being held over something that had happened ten years prior. “It's important.”

Posted for this Friday!

It had been a long, long year for St. Mungo's.

Mark stood with a long flute of champagne in one hand, taking slow, deep breaths. The rearing of the ugly virus' head had given the year a bad, bad start, but here they were. Lives had been lost, but so many had been saved. Mark felt bittersweet about celebrating the year, but he knew events like this needed to be held to keep the hospital running. The donations were used to buy new supplies, potion remedies, and to provide for better training for their healers. Everything was being spun into a positive manner, Mark just wished that it didn't have to be such a lavish event to do so.

"Do you think it's too much?" he said to his wife, looking down at Hannah with a worried smirk. If anything, the night provided a reason for his wife to doll herself and look even more fantastic than she normally did. They deserved a night out, especially now that their trio of children was complete.

All Star Fan-Fest Weekend! Open to ALL!
His grin couldn't be any wider.

"I'm pretty sure she's going to beat my score," Vinny said with an extreme nod to the group of onlookers that were watching his lovely and adorable girlfriend Gleny score as many goals in the miniature hoops that were set up. Vinny had quite purposely aimed a bit far to the right as to not completely run away with the game, but Gleny was putting up a rather good fight regardless.

It was a fun day, weekend, really, of games and events that he thought were going to be a bit of a chore but had ended up being remarkably entertaining. The fans that were participating were the ones who truly loved the game and were great to have conversations with. It was a very unique way to interact with them in a way Vinny had never really gotten a chance to, and he did not feel overwhelmed in the slightest. Hosting the weekend's bigger attractions had seemed daunting, but it was going swimmingly.

Mostly in part to his, once again, lovely and adorable girlfriend who had just ended the round of Quick Quaffle with a tie score!

"Great job!" Vinny said with honest excitement as he happily hugged Gleny in celebration. Merlin, quidditch and his girl, what more could a bloke ask for?
