SONG THAT DESCRIBES YOU AND WHY: "trouble" by coldplay. this was the first song that i sang in my first week with golden voices. it kind of sums up my life these past few years and it kind of stands as my apology to everyone that i've hurt in my wake of destruction. "oh no, what's this? a spider web and i'm caught in the middle. so i turn to run and thought of all the stupid things i'd done." that line is really important to me. i have a spiderweb tattooed on my shoulder blade representing this song.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THE GLEE CLUB: honestly, i was dared. a few of my friends decided to join and they've been bugging me for so long to join them, so i gave in. i've come to love it a lot, though. i've made some awesome friends and it really helped me through some stuff.
WHAT'S THE BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER GOTTEN: never eat yellow snow. that's probably the best advice anyone could give.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU GROW UP: this is something i've been asking a bit more lately. i never gave much thought to it. when i was first starting high school, i had dreams of big corporations and ceo status, but then things started to change and none of that really seemed important anymore. now i'm just kind of lost and i can't see myself and my life being separate from music, so maybe something with that. i might need to see a shrink, i don't know.


biography
calen andrew scott was born on june 21, 1993 in west hartford, connecticut. ever since he was a kid, individuality was thrust upon him. his mother was a musician/photographer turned dental hygenist until she became pregnant. that was when she gave up her career to continue her dream of freelance photography. calen's father worked aorund music his whole life, helping his own father with his recording studio, turning it into an independent record store after the business tanked. it was written in the stars that calen would be a talented musician. since the womb, he has been making music. his father was an avid guitarist, so it was only natural that calen pick it up, too. on his eighth birthday, however, he asked for a piano and quickly fell in love, finding his new weapon of choice. he has written countless songs and has performed in local venues for years. calen has always been an extremely introverted person. he is someone who prefers to suffer alone and believes that emotions are a private thing. he has a tendency to be romantic if the situation calls for it, but pda and things like that have never been his cup of tea. he's a fun guy to be around if you know him. he loosens up quickly and you'll be able to see his goofy, sarcastic side. he loves having fun and his friends are his life. his parents, however happy they may have seemed, ended up getting divorced two years ago, starting up a very destructive period in calen's life. he gave up guitar for a few months until he realized that music was his only outlet. he began using a lot of drugs, barely bothering to show up to school, but was drunk if he did. it was only this past year that he got involved in glee club on a dare. a bunch of his friends pushed him to audition, with the hidden intention of giving him a new hobby. it turned out to be one of the best decisions he could have made. he has cleaned up his act and glee had become some form of therapy for him, giving him a safe place to express his emotions.
