phin glick

personality

Phin is a big teddy bear. That is really the only way to describe him. He's large, in charge, has a great if slightly ridiculous sense of humor and is more intelligent than people give him credit for. Horrible at saying no, always letting things roll off of him with a joke and not easily insulted round out his laid back attitude.

It can be a completely different story when it comes to his work, however. On set, whether he's behind the camera, in front of it, or simply helming production, Phin is a consummate hard worker. He likes to joke - of course he likes to joke - but at the end of the day, when it comes to the final product, he's dead serious about having things the way he wants, even if the way he wants is ridiculous and unedited looking.

biography

Phin's parents were clearly sadists. A high powered lawyer and a supermodel, they took a baby boy who clearly did not take after his beautiful socialite mother and gave him the rather dubious moniker of Phineas Glick. There is a reason that his mother kept her maiden name rather than hyphenating taking his father's surname; there is nothing flattering about the word Glick. Any imagery it brings about is wholly uninspiring and Phin has had to find ways around the horrible name combined with the fact that he's always been a bit on the portly side, even as a baby. So he made up for it by being funny.

It started early. Your typical dick and fart jokes. Which, you'll note, he's never really grown out of. Maybe not humor at it's finest but puns and potty jokes still get the job done. It was his way of compensating for his other shortcomings and hey, it made the girls laugh. And the guys. Okay, more the guys. But the girls too and that was what matters. Guys like Phineas Glick didn't really get the hot chicks. Or any chicks, if you wanted to be brutally honest about it. If he could tell a stupid joke and make the blonde beauties of his day smile or hell, even roll their eyes at him, then it was a good day. Any attention was good attention and it kept him from too many of the fatty jokes.

Despite having been in his teens when his parents divorced, it wasn't until he was in his 20s that his mother remarried. Being the slightly spoiled young aspiring filmmaker he was - by this point, he'd released a few movies mostly under his own steam, though with a bit of help from his family's contacts, of course - and his self inspired character of Silent Bob had a bit of fame behind him, just enough to make him a cult favorite, mostly among somewhat unsavory types, Phin was still living at home. Of course, "living at home" by no means meant his parents' basement; for all intents and purposes, he had his own space that just so happened to be on his mother's property.

Phin has gone on to rather more spotlight than he'd ever thought he'd have. While his resume boasts many a film, whether it be behind the camera or in front of it, many of these were documentaries or flops that never really went anymore. Still, he's got a decent fan base and a reputation for being a funny and curiously intelligent fat man. Only hey, a little less the fat now. Because sometimes things do kind of work out even if you're not the hottie with a body that gets all the girls.
