biography.
The eldest daughter of Sir Andrew Ingram and Lady Helen Ingram, Olivia Anne Ingram was born into the lap of luxury in London in 1982. Andrew was the fourth-generation owner of Ingram Press, one of the top publishing houses in the world. Olivia lived a charmed existence, from the family's penthouse apartment in Chelsea, to the ancestral country house in Derbyshire, as well as several vacation homes around the world.

From a young age, Olivia acted out, mostly to get the attention of her emotionally absent parents. She was always ready to put on a show, and would perform at the drop of a hat. Her parents didn't exactly discourage Livvie's wish to become an actress, but they didn't encourage it either. A chance meeting in early 1993 would change Olivia's life forever. It was then that the eight year old met the producers of the soap opera EastEnders. After reading for the role of Clare Tyler, Livvie was offered the part on the spot. She spent the next five years with the series, and it was during this time that she landed her first film role, as Margaret Dashwood in an adaptation of Sense and Sensibility in 1995. In 1998, Clare was written out of the series and Olivia left the show. In the fall of 1999 she joined another UK soap, Coronation Street, as troubled teen Sarah-Louise Platt. She played Sarah-Louise through a controversial teen pregnancy storyline, but left the series in 2002.

Olivia returned to film in 2002, in the action film The Bourne Identity. In the two subsequent Bourne films, Olivia would see her role greatly increased as her profile rose. While she continued to appear in modern films, she began to find a niche for herself as a period actress. In the next four years, Olivia would find herself in Ancient Greece, Regency England, The Dark Ages, and more. In 2007, Olivia received her biggest break yet, being cast in a supporting role in the film The Duchess. The role garnered several award nominations and critics' praise for Olivia, and also led to her first starring role. In 2009, Olivia was chosen to play Queen Victoria in the lavish drama The Young Victoria. Olivia received high praise for her performance and even a Golden Globe nomination. That same year, it was announced that Olivia would portray Jane Foster in the big budget adaptation of the comic book Thor, her most high-profile role to date.

Since her decision to move into acting full-time eight years ago, she has had a strained relationship with her family at best. She generally tries to avoid family fuctions whenever possible, if only to avoid the passive aggressive tendencies of her parents. Olivia is definitely a Type A personality. She is highly organized, a perfectionist, and ambitious when it comes to her career. She has tried to curb her more annoying personality traits, to varying degrees of success. When it comes to relationships, they've been few and far between for Olivia. She has been with her boyfriend and The Young Victoria co-star OPEN since 2007. It is the longest relationship she's ever had, and though she loves him, the idea of being with one person for the rest of her life terrifies her.
