BACKGROUND

Jerica Porter, born the fourth of five children (and the only girl) originally hails from a small town in North Carolina. Growing up, Jeri felt restricted by the strict Catholic upbringing in her household, and she yearned for more freedom. She was never quite able to master getting along with her parents, or any authority figure. School was definitely not any better, but eventually she came to realize that cracking a joke or three under your breath at the expense of teachers would earn you attention from your classmates. She flourished in the attention from her classmates, even if she was frequently a presence outside the principal's door. Her parents threatened her with all sorts of punishments, and when they finally hit the last straw when she was in high school and informed their daughter she was going to enroll in a private Catholic all girl's school, Jerica decided that was enough and she was out.

She ran away from home at sixteen, hitching a ride across the country from North Carolina until finally ending up in Las Vegas. (Stay safe kids, that's really not a good plan.) The young blond quickly found out that money definitely didn't grow on trees and that she needed to find a job with steady funds -- and FAST. With a bit of research, she found a not so reputable club that hired her without actually doing a background check on her real age (she'd said she was eighteen, after all), and she quickly landed herself a spot waiting tables for the nightly patrons. It wasn't classy and it wasn't an awesome job, but it paid enough to pay her weekly rent at the small motel she had found a room at. After a couple years of barely making ends meet, she was approached by a guy who offered to get her a job in movies. He didn't really specify the type of "movies" that he was casting for, but honestly Jerica wasn't at all shocked when she showed up for a casting session and found out they were casting for a barely legal porn film. She really didn't see the harm in it, so she signed up and quickily became known in the adult film industry. After her first year, she was nominated for a Adult Video News Award, quickly earning herself quite the fan base throughout the adult industry.

In 2004, Jerica decided she had enough of the adult film scene, and decided to see if she could make her way in the legit movies. Of course, that was a bust. No one really wanted a former porn star in an actual movie. That would be ridiculous. Unless, of course, you were remaking Friday the 13th.... A bit down about her lack of luck in what she wanted to do, she decided to try her hand at the legit acting gig. She's done a few cameos in friends' music videos and a few roles that perked her interest. It's hard out there for a former porn star, but Jerica kept a great attitude about it. She's not afraid to make fun of herself, and enjoys splitting her time between Los Angeles and her home base of Las Vegas. In 2008 she landed a role in the new James Bond film, as well as the HBO series True Blood. Jerica was thrilled, and enjoys her new semi-regular job with HBO.
