hair color: Brown; Keeps it fairly short, but it grows out all the time because he's on tour a lot. Doesn't do much with it, may straighten it a little if he's in the mood or has to dress up for an event.
eye color: Hazel
build: Slimmish
distinguishing marks: Colt likes that he could get lost in a crowd. Nothing about him is over the top or extreme, and he'd rather keep it that way. The only distinguishing marks he has would be his pierced nose.
dress style: He wouldn't say he has a style, unless you consider t-shirts and hoodies a style. Colt doesn't get dressed up often mostly because he hates how uncomfortable suits and ties are. One article of clothing he'd wear all year if he could? Flip flops. It doesn't matter if they're nice leather or the rubber ones you buy at Old Navy, if he could he'd wear them. That and athletic shorts. But that's from the many hears he played drums. If there's one thing you want, it's comfort when you're playing. That "style" has carried over despite being in front of a mic now.

When people first meet Colt, he seems like your typical nice guy, who's down to earth despite his band's ever growing popularity. And sure, Colt is a nice guy. He's the kind of guy that you could count on in a time of need. He's extremely loyal and will stand up for his friends. He's also very honest, which is often times a double edged sword for him. He will never lie to you, but he also has a habit of not knowing how to say things that will soften the blow of his own words. This can backfire when it comes to both relationships and the media and he almost always regrets it later.
Speaking of the media, Colt always seems to flip flop when it comes to his bands popularity. Some days he doesn't care if there are people taking is picture or begging him for autographs. But then other days, Colt will avoid everyone like the plague or even lash out. He considers most of his life private, despite his big mouth, and can go to great lengths to keep it that way.
Despite his passion for music and his band, Colt has a lot of anxiety when it comes to performing and his bands ever growing popularity. For the longest time, this meant that his band's performances were shaky and lukewarm. It wasn't unusual for him to make himself sick right before he was supposed to go on stage. While he can now get on stage with ease, it isn't because he's suddenly overcome his anxiety. He takes medication so he can do what he loves. This doesn't mean all of his anxiety is gone. He still has his moments, but they're usually not as debilitating as they normally would be.

Colton Ethan Meyers was born on a cool summer's night on July 14, 1985 to Katherine McDurmont and James Meyers. He was the youngest of three, with an older brother and sister. As far back as he can remember, his sister and Colt have always been close. She was always looking out for him when he was little, comforting him whenever he scraped a knee, and he was always protective of his sister, grilling boys that visited their house and if someone spoke badly of her, he always acted first and asked questions later. His older brother, on the other hand, is a different story. Colt often feels that the only thing him and his brother have in common are their genes. It's as if they're night and day, anything Colt likes his brother most likely hates. And vise versa.
While his father urged a young Colt to pick up a football or even a baseball bat, the little boy fell in love with music. His mother spent many hours in the kitchen and loved to play her records as she worked on the stove. He often helped his mother in the kitchen, which was just another disappointment to his father, singing along with his mother. From that point on, his mother was his biggest fan. She always encouraged him to follow whatever dreams he had and was constantly his biggest supporter.
His mother was the one who bought him his first drum set for his birthday, after he begged and pleaded. She knew what she was getting herself into, but if it was what her son wanted to do, then she wasn't going to interfere. His father still pushed him into sports, forcing a young Colt to join the local soccer team. He hated the sport though, and only stuck around until middle school because of the friend's he had made on the team.
Early on in high school, Colton started smoking pot. Not all the time, just the moments when life was stressing him out or the occasional times his friends offered and he didn't decline. He rarely brought the drug home with him, afraid of what his father would do. But every once in a while, he would sneak a joint in and smoke it while sitting on his bedroom porch so that his room wouldn't smell.
Junior year of high school was when one of the many garage bands he had formed with friends started to shift into a real band. Everything seemed to click, they had the right energy and the right sound going on. They were still rough around the edges when they began trying to nab local gigs around town. They would play anywhere there was an audience, from VFW halls to friend's basements. Soon they were getting attention from other local bands and during that summer they toured around the state as well as several nearby states.
Soon local buzz started forming around their band. Several of his friends suggested they try to join the following summer's Warped Tour and the rest of his bandmates couldn't see the harm in trying. The boys went all out the following year, trying to get as much support and attention as they could. They applied to the Battle of the Bands, not expecting to hold a chance to the other bands on the list, but as each band began to fall off the list they quickly realized their chance was high. When it came down to Deep From Within and the last band, Colt was almost positive that there was no way they were going to win. The other band had more experience and better talent. There was no way they could win. As the two bands stood side by side, waiting for the announcement of the winner, Colt was already settled on losing. After all, his dad was always right. He was never going to make it as a musician and this was just proof. But as he was silently psyching himself out of winning, the announcers called his band's name. For a moment, Colt was in utter shock. While his bandmates cheered, he stared blankly around him as if he hadn't heard the announcement. Then it hit him. They had won! They were going to perform at Warped Tour! This was going to be huge for them.
His mother continued to support her son by allowing them to borrow a van from one of his uncle's for Warped Tour. Their first performance that summer was shaky at best. Colt wasn't sure about the larger crowds, but after their second set the next day he would be beyond ready. He had to do this. This was what he had wanted for years. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and he couldn't let it fall apart. With a little help from a joint he had bummed off someone, he took the stage and took the crowd by storm.
By the end of the summer they had gathered enough hype to catch the attention of a major record label. The band had recorded one album together, which was released over the internet and spread like wildfire. But by the end of 2003, Colt was starting to feel the cracks under the surface. On tour, they attempted to write their follow up album but they weren't agreeing on anything. Soon the other bandmates started to alienate Colt, neglecting to include him in any part of their writing. Quickly becoming depressed and disenchanted by the band, he made an abrupt announcement that he was leaving the band and made his way back home to Virginia.
After spending several months at home, Colt decided he needed a change. Not just another band, but a new location. Again, his father pointed out that he was only following a childhood dream but it was now or never. If Colt let his father get to him now, he was never going to leave his little town of Virginia. With one last word of advice from his mother, he bought a one-way ticket and in the spring of 2005, he moved to California.
It took Colt a little while to adapt to the city. He found a job at a record store and spent most of his free time trying to form a new band and a new sound. It took several trial and errors, but eventually he found the rest of his bandmates that would be As Tall As Giants. It didn't bother him that he had to work from the ground up again, but this time he knew what to expect and what not to do. Living in Los Angeles gave him more access to resources. And in no time, As Tall As Giants was on tour and recording their first album.

● While he is only 5'7", his height doesn't bother him. He's heard enough jokes from his older brother that if that's the only insult someone can come up with, than he'd rather laugh than get bent out of shape over it.
● Colt can cook, but he really likes to cook when he's drunk. You'll never know what he'll come up with and it's a 50/50 chance it'll be edible. He was always helping his mom in the kitchen when he was a child and picked it up quickly. Has cooked for his closest friends.
● Is a friendly and affectionate drunk. He isn't the life of the party, but he still has fun. He can drink as much beer as any other guy and has a stomach of steel when it comes to hard liquor. At least that's what he thinks. His friends would say otherwise.
● If you want to get anything out of Colt, just get him drunk. He'll spill almost anything when intoxicated. He hates when people do this to him though, so either make sure he's really drunk or just don't do it. He's ended friendships over people manipulating him this way.
● Is very loyal to his friends and family. He doesn't have a large inner circle, but those who he let's in he would do anything for. Colt is a friend for life. It's rare, but he has gotten into fights because someone has said something horrible about a friend of his.
● Has a short temper. But just as quickly as it comes, it disappears. He doesn't hold a grudge for very long and will almost instantly get over the fight. Sometimes he forgets that others don't always get over things as fast and will approach them while they're still upset.
● Doesn't smoke, but always has a lighter on him (although he does smoke weed from time to time, especially if he's feeling stressed and/or overwhelmed about something).
● Is addicted to painkillers because of an accident that happened during one of their sets during the 2010 Warped Tour.
● Has anxiety, which used to hinder him growing up. Performing on stage used to make him physically ill and any sort of media attention always made him too anxious. He now takes medication, but sometimes forgets to take a dose which can cause chaos for the band.
● Gets obsessed about things easily, although the obsession hardly ever lasts long. When he gets obsessed, it's hard for him to talk about anything else or do anything else. It doesn't happen on a daily basis, but when it does be prepared to hear him talk about nothing else.
● Has a love/hate relationship with the media. While he doesn't necessarily hate them, he definitely has days where he wishes they would leave him alone. He can go to extremes when he's in one of his moods, avoiding any and all contact and even lashing out at people.
● Always tries to make time for his fans, regardless of how he's personally feeling or how busy he is. He doesn't like to be put on a pedestal though, so when fans cry because of meeting him, he finds it a little awkward and can quickly appear standoff-ish.
● Got his nose pierced his senior year of high school, much to his parents disappointment. While it has grown on his mother, his father still refuses to accept that it's his own body and he can do whatever he wants to it.
● Grew up playing the drums. Still has a passion for the instrument, but spends more time singing now. Has played drums for other friend's bands for fun when he's not touring.
● His dad wanted him to grow up to be a football star. Because he went to college on a football scholarship, he had high hopes that Colt would follow in his footsteps. His dad never made it to the pro's, but he is the local sports newscaster on television. Despite his own failures, he is still disgruntled that his youngest son never followed in his footsteps and often looks down on his choice in career.
● Can be extremely honest, both in private and with the media. While he most likely won't lie to your face, it can backfire in relationships (both friendships and relationships). It's as if sometimes Colt doesn't know how to censor himself, letting out information to the media that is usually considered too personal even to him. He usually regrets it later.
● Loves video games, especially old school Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. Spent one summer defeating Castlevania and Contra without losing any lives. He beat Castlevania but Contra was too hard and frustrating. His all time favorite game is Zelda: A Link To The Past. He always has to have some sort of console on tour with him.

THE SECRET ADMIRER: This can be someone either Colt knows or doesn't know. This person has had a crush on him for a while now but has always been too afraid to let him know. They can't hide their true feelings from him forever, so what will happen once the beans are spilled? (male or female)
THE HIGH SCHOOL EX: These two dated all throughout high school. They ended up breaking up after their senior year of high school, leaving things open for college. Except Colt never went to college. Instead, he continued with his band ( From Deep Within at the time). She didn't understand his obsession with music and believed he needed to grow up and get a real job. He hopes she sees how much bigger his (new) band has gotten, so he can finally prove her wrong. If they ran into each other again, could they be civil or would it open an old wound? (female)
THE ONE WHO KNOWS: This is one of the only people who knows about Colt's problem. Either they found out by accident or they've put two and two together (either from their own experience or otherwise). Now they have to struggle with calling Colt out on his addiction and possibly losing his friendship or letting him continue on his downward spiral in hopes he'll fix himself. (male or female)
THE CURRENT BANDMATES: These are Colt's current bandmates. They get along most of the time and some of them know when to leave Colt alone. Others, not so much and they often get caught in his moodiness. This doesn't mean that he dislikes any of his bandmates; in fact, he'd probably do almost anything for them if they ever asked. (males and/or females)
THE EX BANDMATES: Do they get along? Do they hate each other? Only they know as nobody has seen the group back together since Colt's split from the band years ago. (males)
THE OLDER BROTHER: These two don't get a long. At all. They can be civil towards each other when they have to (aka for their mom), but usually when they're together you can expect a fight. Ever since he was a child, his brother has tried to beat him at everything and Colt can't stand it. His biggest issue is his brother's inability to have anything positive to say to him, especially when it comes to his music. (male)
more to come...
