personality.
Aurelia's maternal side is a dominant part of who she is. Even before she had children of her own, she always had a tendency to mother everything in sight. Whether it was her pet dog or her younger brother, she usually ended up doing some degree of coddling. When her daughters were born, that attention only transferred onto them. They're the center of her world and there is nothing, and I mean nothing, that she wouldn't do to protect them.

It could be said that this is what mainly keeps her from being a White Witch, because when it comes to this sort of situation, her morals become notably more lax and she wouldn't hesitate to use her powers to her own advantage. Of course, it could also be argued that she doesn't hesitate to use her powers to her advantage in just about any situation. One only needs to look at the fact that she magically manipulated her ex-husband into giving her full custody of the girls when they were going through the motions of divorce to figure that out.

To a certain extent, this maternal attitude is also adopted in regard to members of her coven. Aurelia has determined that a firm, but caring hand is what is needed to both keep everyone in line and to make them feel safe and welcome. So while she is certainly the first person any of them to go to with a problem and expect to get some sympathy, she doesn't refrain from berating the disobedient and punishing them. She is a fair judge, though, and the severity of the punishment always fits the severity of the indiscretion. There have been complaints regardless, of course, but she just lets them roll off her back. A good leader can't be afraid of ruffling a few feather, after all, and that's exactly what she strives to be.

Since becoming romantically involved with Lilith, Aurelia's straight-laced tendencies have started to loosen little by little. While her morals remain strong and sound, she is starting to care less about what people think than she used to. Both in and out of the bedroom, Lilith has brought out a more wild, spontaneous side in her to the point that there is no going back to the way she used to be.

history.
-Born Aurelia Evans on September 8, 1959 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Zachary and Phyllida Evans.
-She is the oldest of two siblings, her younger brother, Joshua, was born in March of 1962.
-Her mother, Phyllida, was also a witch, as was her mother before her, and her grandmother before that.
-Aurelia first started showing signs of having inherited the power when she was only six-years-old. Upon noticing this, Phyllida immediately began schooling her young daughter in the art of witchcraft.
-The men in the Evans family remained blissfully oblivious of the magic that was pounding in the veins of the women. If anything out of the ordinary happened, it was readily accepted as a freak accident.
-After graduating from high school, she attended the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. There she chose to major in music, the well-established program being her reason for choosing UNCG. She graduated from there with with a B.A. in the field.
-She then worked as a singer in a local club for about five years. It was while working there that she met Louis Matheson, the man who would become her husband and the father of her children.
-Louis and Aurelia married after two years of dating and she was pregnant within another year. She quit her job at the club, then, because Louis had a busy career going as a divorce attorney and someone needed to be home to take care of the child. He originally suggested hiring a nanny, but she wouldn't hear of it.
-Their oldest daughter, Vanessa Lillian Matheson, was born on May 13, 1985. Their second daughter, Caitlin Delilah Matheson, followed three years later on November 10, 1988. They were well behaved children, but still a handful.
-In 1992, Louis decided to leave the firm he was working for an open up his own. Deciding that it would be best to do this in a different city, so his old co-workers didn't feel as if he was trying to compete with them, he moved his wife and daughters to Asheville.
-Upon learning that she was far from the only witch in Asheville, Aurelia began to seek out information on the covens that existed. The Black Coven unsettled her, for obvious reasons, and the White, Pure Coven struck as too much of an extreme in the other direction. The more intermediate coven, known around town as the Not-So-Blessed, seemed like a much better fit and was just gaining a foothold in the town to boot.
-In 1998, the witch who had previously leaded the Not-So-Blessed coven, and who was rapidly approaching old age, decided to step down. Aurelia was surprised to learn that the woman had chosen her to be her successor, but wasted no time into stepping into her newly assumed role.
-In 2000, Aurelia discovered, through talk around the town, that Louis had been seeing a prostitute. Infuriated and betrayed, she not only threw her husband out but also went to confront the woman in question. It turned out to be the demon Lilith, who Aurelia would come to know by the alias 'Edith'. A unique, and rather one-sided, relationship developed from this confrontation and now Aurelia can't get Lilith to leave her alone.
-Aurelia and Louis divorced shortly after this incident. She was awarded half of his monthly income to be paid in alimony checks as well as full custody of their daughters. This last part is mostly due, as mentioned before, due to a little magical maneuvering on her part. She felt a little guilty afterwards, but not for long, only reminding herself how he had betrayed her and deserved everything he got.
-After the divorce, in order to support Vanessa and Caitlin as well as herself, she got a job working at the Asheville Civic Center as the Event Manager. She occasionally missed singing over the years, but this allowed her to be closer to the arts again.
-Both Vanessa and Caitlin are all grown up and out of the house now, leaving Aurelia alone. She experienced a severe case of empty-nest-syndrome following Caitlin's departure, but has grown to relish her solitude. At least a little. She talks to both girls at least once a week.
-On March 20, 2011, Lilith persuaded Aurelia to sell her soul to her for her own safety, promising to release her from the contract upon her death. She reluctantly agreed
-Much to her own surprise, Aurelia slowly discovered that she had started to have feelings for Lilith. They eventually fell into bed and have been together ever since, although it took Aurelia months to come out of the closet.
