KEVIN ENTWHISTLE

BASIC INFORMATION
FULL NAME: Kevin James Entwhistle
NICKNAMES: Kev but never Kevvy. K-Ent as a joke from his friends
DATE OF BIRTH January 28, 1980
AGE: 25
BLOOD STATUS: Muggleborn
GENDER: Male
ZODIAC: Aquarius
CREATURE STATUS: Human
HOUSE/YEAR: Ravenclaw/1998

LOCATION: United Kingdom
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Travels often but has a flat in Exeter, Devon with his older brother.
OCCUPATION: Member of the WWDF (World Wizard Dueling Federation)
OCCUPATION HISTORY: Kevin has been a professional duelist for the past two years. This does indeed take a great skill to pull off, needing extensive knowledge of spells and healing charms. It also has immense value as an entertainment sport, requiring its participants to handle both the technical aspects of spellwork and the performance aspect in order to keep the crowd excited. Before becoming a member of the WWDF, Kevin held odd jobs here and there in order to save up some money while he continued to train for the duelist job. He began his training during his last few years at Hogwarts with the help of Professor Flitwick. He applied several times before he was eventually offered the job.
CLASS: Working class

POLITICS
LOYALTY/ALLIANCE: Neutral only because he's torn, doesn't want to get in the middle of it and doesn't want to do anything that will cause him to lose his job.
STATUS: None so far
POLITICAL VIEWS: As a Muggleborn, Kevin feels as though he needs to pledge his allegiance to the Muggleborn cause brought about by the Ministry. However, as a Ravenclaw and a free-thinker, he can't help but feel that the Ministry is going too far and fears tyranny. He is generally accepting of all types of people whether magical or otherwise, though has always had a certain respect (read: fear) for Purebloods. He also doesn't feel that violence or raising an army is the answer, but he is not the type to raise his voice over any of this, preferring to keep quiet and keep his job.

PROFILE

FAMILY/RELATIONSHIPS
MOTHER: Elizabeth Rose Entwhistle - Muggle: Lizi is a school teacher in Kevin's hometown. She teaches small children between the ages of six and seven and home schooled Kevin and his siblings until Kevin left for Hogwarts.
FATHER: Darren Entwhistle - Muggle: Darren is a plumber and a damn good one. Leaky pipes were never a problem at the Entwhistle residence. He is also a paranormal investigator.
SIBLINGS: Joseph Entwhistle (27), Lucy Entwhistle (22), Monica Entwhistle (17).
CHILDREN: None
EXTENDED FAMILY: None
FRIENDS: Kevin is very picky when it comes to friends. He doesn't let very many people into his sacred inner circle. And once they're in, there's no getting out. He mostly trusts fellow Ravenclaws and few from other Houses. Though typically, Kevin appears to be relatively friendly to all, he only shares his deepest secrets with his closest friends.
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: None

APPEARANCE
Kevin is generally well built with broad shoulders and works out often to keep up his stamina. He wouldn't be able to duel well unless he had a high stamina. When he works out, he usually works out his upper body, though he does leg presses as well, mostly for his thighs. When he walks, he walks with an air of self-importance that can only be described as cocky. This isn't to be taken as his personality though. It could be that he just does way too many bicep curls, and his arms are just stuck that way. When he's out and about, even when doing the most common of errands, he's always wearing his best clothes. He just really likes to look good no matter where he goes.

His dirty blond hair is always combed and mostly straight. While dueling, it can get a little messy, but he tries to keep it neat whenever possible. Vain might be a good way to describe his slight obsession with looking good, but he figures that people don't want to see someone who looks ugly while dueling. So, he does his best to give the people what they want. He has also mastered a somewhat classic and elegant style of dueling that isn't clumsy or gruesome to watch. His cocky body language tends to help in that aspect. Kevin tends to have perfect balance, which is also a good quality to have as a duelist. You will rarely see him stumbling over himself or falling all the time. It takes quite a gust of wind to bring this big guy down.

Kevin isn't incredibly tall, though he holds his own in a height match. He is almost wider than he is tall due to his muscle mass, and it's likely he doesn't have an ounce of fat in him. He is also rather stealthy, walking into rooms and startling people who didn't notice he was there. He doesn't do this on purpose, though it helps that he doesn't really say much. He only speaks when it is absolutely necessary, and even then, he only says what is absolutely necessary. His speech is refined, and he enunciates every word clearly. And when he speaks, he is slow and deliberate, leaving no chance for anyone listening to be confused by what he is trying to say.

PERSONALITY
WAND: 8 1/4 inch, oak with a dragon heartstring core, nimble
BOGGART: Goblin
PATRONUS: A lynx

LIKES: Dueling, Quidditch, Wrestling, Working out, any physical activity, sports in general, useless information, spells, books
DISLIKES: Plants, animals, people some times, injuries, people who stereotype him, goblins, bad sportsmanship

STRENGTHS: Kevin is excellent at spells. This is one of the reasons why he is so good at his job. He can remember loads of different spells and use them in varying order to take down his opponents. He is very physically fit and participating in sports comes easily to him. For the things he enjoys, he is very diligent and punctual, such as his job and for sports.
WEAKNESSES: He has a terrible memory for certain things (usually the important stuff) or things he's just not interested in. He can't cook or clean to save his life, which often gets on his brother's nerves. He has commitment issues to people, though he has no problem committing to his job which often takes him all over the place.

DETAILED PERSONALITY: Kevin is not particularly smart, though he can figure things out rather quickly. He is a quiet person, preferring to keep to himself unless it is imperative he add something to the conversation. He does know a bunch of useless information though, which makes him rather lively at times when at parties. He can spew random information for hours, while other times it's almost as if he wasn't in the room at all. He is very into Quidditch and other sports and very good at just about all of them.

Kevin has his own ideas about things. He generally likes to keep things to himself, and he would never speak out against something if he didn't have all the facts to back it up. He is of the opinion that if you have nothing of use to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all. He prefers to stand back and listen rather than contribute false information. He doesn't mind the occasional frivolity as with the knowing useless bits of information, but that is more for entertainment value than anything else. Kevin feels that entertaining people using his knowledge of certain things is better than any profession out there.

Kevin likes things that are real. He hates it when someone is being disingenuous with him or trying to mislead him. He may not consider himself to be among the smartest Ravenclaws or even among his peers, though he does value truth and research. When it interests him, Kevin can be found among the stacks doing research on a particular subject, such as dueling or Quidditch. He likes learning things from books rather than from people, and if he really cares about something, he'll try and back up something someone told him with a book just to make sure it's accurate.

Kevin's top motivation is adrenaline. He enjoys anything that can get his heart racing and his body moving. He never stays in one place for too long, which can be annoying when it comes to having any sort of relationship whether it be with his family, friends or a significant other. He can get boggled down by his work and forgot to get in contact with people. His distance at times makes it difficult for anyone to really develop ties with him, though he doesn't do it to hurt people. It's just the way he is, unable to be tied down by any one thing or person.

HISTORY
Elizabeth and Darren Entwhistle met at the university of Oxford. They both had dreams of becoming writers and scientists, though life and love got in the way. And they couldn't have been happier. The chemistry between them was instant. Elizabeth, very much against her parents' wishes, dropped out of Oxford in order to marry Darren and raise their children. Darren began working for a plumbing company part time and eventually, after Oxford, he came on as a full-time employee. On the side, he also dabbled in ghost hunting. By that time, the Entwhistle's already had a little boy and another on the way.

When Kevin James Entwhistle was born, his parents and older brother, though only 2 years old at the time, instantly knew they had a prize on their hands. Kevin was the loudest baby you could possibly imagine. He didn't even wait for the doctor to get him all cleaned up before hollering and screaming at the top of his lungs. The Entwhistle family had no idea what they had just acquired. Back at home, Kevin was a little quieter, though his parents would only remember the countless sleepless nights their feisty newborn would put them through.

As Kevin grew, it was clear that his rowdiness was not going to calm down any time soon. He was always eager to do things quickly, such as crawl and stand and walk. The kid wanted to get around, and get around he certainly did. It wasn't uncommon to find Kevin in the closet under a basket of socks or in the laundry hamper. He was an explorer at the age of two, and after his little sister was born, she became his sidekick. Eventually, his older brother began getting into sports, and Kevin was right on his heels. Even though he was smaller and younger, Kevin showed an affinity for physical activity.

Elizabeth had started homeschooling the boys, while she took care of Lucy, and in the afternoons, Joey and Kevin would run down to the nearest field to catch whatever sport was playing that day. By the time Kevin turned 8, he had another little sister to play with. Except Monica was the sickly kind, and that meant that the Entwhistle's had to band together to take care of her. This was especially hard on the family's financial situation, and Elizabeth had to go out and find herself a job teaching. She would still come home and give her lessons to her own children, which made her more into a full-time teacher than anything else.

Kevin, however, didn't have to endure many more of his mother's lessons. On his eleventh birthday, Kevin received a letter from a very special school called Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Kevin was mad with delight. Finally, he could explain all of the strange things that had followed him around ever since he was a small child. There were unexplained events of disappearing equipment on the field and nightmares of floating inches above his bed that seemed more real that anything else. And whenever his father would take him ghost hunting with him, Kevin would always find ghosts to sit and talk to while everyone else just stood there with their mouths open.

His parents were terribly confused though about this Hogwarts business. So, they had a meeting with Albus Dumbledore in their quaint little home as Kevin's sisters ran around playing a game. Dumbledore explained exactly what Kevin would be learning at Hogwarts and put any concerns at ease with his calm words. Kevin was so eager to go that he could hardly wait the remaining months. His first trip to Diagon Alley was magical of course. He couldn't wait to dive in head first into this brand new world.

And before he knew it, it was September 1st, and he was on board the Hogwarts Express, headed for school. In his wizard robes and with his new wand, Kevin stepped up to the Sorting Hat, which shouted out an instant, "Ravenclaw!" And his table erupted in cheers. Little did he know that the next few years of his life would see more drama than he had ever been exposed to before. Early on, Kevin developed an affinity for Charms. His professor being the Head of his House was quite convenient in that Kevin could go to him for whatever he needed. It was also helpful that Professor Flitwick had been a dueling champion, and it was he who first introduced Kevin to the intricate world of entertainment dueling.

Not only was Kevin interested in dueling, he was also interested in Quidditch. For that, though, he had to wait a few years, since few slots opened up during his second year. Either way, his second year was filled with dread upon hearing that Muggleborns were being petrified. He was one of the lucky ones who didn't end up getting petrified, and he wasn't sure if it was because he hung out mostly in the dorms or in the library or what. By third year, he was able to make it onto the Quidditch team as a Beater and remained there until his last year. All throughout his time at Hogwarts, he tried to remain outside the realm of drama, only sticking to his studies, Quidditch practice and his dueling lessons with Professor Flitwick.

His intensity to always be better was what drove him, and it was this intensity that often pushed away his closest friends, as he claimed he didn't have time and had prior engagements. The excuses were somehow always to further his own agenda, and it left little time for socializing. He did entertain a few relationships here and there, but nothing that would make it onto the first page of the Daily Prophet. Though, when he did find the time to break away from his studies to join the non-obsessed people, he was rather cheerful and enjoying of the spotlight. It just had to be on him when he wanted it to, that was all.

By the time his sixth year rolled around, even Kevin (blind sighted by his studies as he was) could tell that Hogwarts wasn't the school it used to be. After Umbridge, things had taken a turn for the worst, though Kevin's lowest moment at the school was when he heard about Dumbledore's death. Dumbledore had been the first wizard Kevin had ever met, and now, he was just gone. What was even more upsetting was that Kevin was not allowed back to the school the following year because of his bloodstatus. He knew that in time he would graduate and never see Hogwarts again, though he didn't expect to be unable to finish out his last year.

It was a terrible time for Kevin as he tuned into the WWN daily to hear reports of the on-going war. His parents would fear for his safety when Kevin would go off on his own to practice his dueling. Just because he wasn't in school didn't mean he couldn't practice his magic. He was simply going to lose it if he didn't try it at least once a week. And that was how he spent the days of what was supposed to be his last year at Hogwarts, until he finally received word that Voldemort had fallen and that all would be restored to normal.

Like his yearmate, Hermione Granger, Kevin asked to return to school and finish his work in order to take his NEWTs and properly graduate. His parents were thrilled at his graduation, and it wasn't long before Kevin was traveling all around searching for jobs to keep him busy until his application to the WWDF went through. After his brother's flatmate moved out, Kevin agreed to sharing his brother's flat as he held odd jobs mostly in shops at Diagon Alley. He and Professor Flitwick would continue to meet on occasion just to make sure Kevin's wits were still sharp.

Finally, after applying several times, Kevin was accepted into the organization. All his years of hard work had finally paid off, and he celebrated for days with his family and friends. Currently, Kevin's job requires him to travel around from gig to gig. He rarely stays in his flat with his brother, though he always tries to pay the rent on time. Much like when the situation got tricky while he was in school, Kevin is trying to not pay too much attention to what is going on with the Ministry, deciding to focus on his job mostly. There's really no telling how long that'll last this time though.
