HAYATO FUKUI
|
BASIC INFORMATION
FULL NAME: Hayato Fukui.
DATE OF BIRTH: May 9, 1983.
DATE OF DEATH: December 2, 2006
APPARENT AGE: 23.
ACTUAL AGE: 28.
WESTERN ZODIAC: Taurus.
BLOOD TYPE: AB.
PLACE OF BIRTH: New York, New York.
SPECIES: Vampire.
ABILITY/SPECIALIZATION: He is a vampire, and as such has heightened speed, hearing, strength and reflexes. He needs to feed from humans to survive, and cannot be out in direct sunlight for long. He is also a new vampire, so his control over himself in regards to feeding is not as good as it would be with years of practice.
Suggestion is another thing he has been gifted with since his turn. He is able to put 'suggestions' into peoples mind, meaning making them want to do certain things. As it stands right now, he's still learning basic controls over it so he doesn't do it by accident, and his suggestions are not nearly powerful enough to make one ignore basic survival instincts. He's a vampire still in his infancy still, so he has much to learn in regard to his abilities.
OCCUPATION: Con Artist, Freeloader, Collector, Scouter... Whatever Lycurgus needs him to be.
LOCATION: The Caledonian.
STAFF: No, resident.
SEXUALITY: Bisexual | Opportunistic.

PERSONALITY
If there is one sure thing about Hayato, it is that you always get more than you bargained for with him. He is a budding master manipulator in the worst possible way. He will search for the perfect target, patiently doing his research, instinctively reading the personality of others. And then he will edit himself in such a way so as to lure the person in. Oh, he can’t change his personality completely, and because of that he has learned which types of people to go after, as they will be the most susceptible.
Beneath it all, when you get to the real Hayato, is a personality that is, quite honestly, selfish. Through experiences in his life, he has developed a ‘me first, me second, me third, and maybe you fourth’ type outlook on life. People leave you behind, and leave you hurt, so it is best to put yourself first and let them flounder about, best form of defense in his opinion.
He is greedy and self-indulgent, looking to get by with the easy and more ‘fun’ ways than to actually settle down and work hard for it. Why should he, when he is capable of by-passing the bullshit to get what he needs?
On a more plus side… Hayato has a good deal of determination and patience, though he only applies it where he feels like. He also has a love and need for security and consistency that he indulges by way of his, quite honestly, solitaire lifestyle. It is reflected in how he lives, and by the fact he keeps his life as simple and uncomplicated as he can in private. That is his stability compared to the out of control roller-coaster ride that his manipulative ways create outside of his apartment.
Now, as much as he seems to keep from making anything resembling deep and meaningful connections, he does do so from time to time. The people who manage to weasel into his heart, as dark and twisted as it is, are up for a, well, shock. Intense, possessive, and easily jealous, these are all the negative traits that come out glaring with warning bells attached. However, the upside to this? Is that he is loving and soft, and actually kind to them. Protective in his own way. They are weaknesses, and when he has noticed they have become one of his weaknesses, he will protect them… as doing so also protects himself. Whether he’d give his life or put himself in harm’s way to save them… well, that is something he does not know, and neither do those attached to him. He has never been put in that situation, and even he can’t say if that bond would be strong enough not to break under his need for self-preservation.

BIOGRAPHY
Naoki and Hoshiko Fukui were rather ordinary Japanese parents. Reserved, respectful and kind. They worked just like everyone else to provide for their family. This lead them to taking posts in New York, which at the time they had one son and twin girls on the way. But the post was worth it, as Naoki was offered a teaching position at NYU. It was an offer they just could not turn down. It was everything Naoki had worked so hard for. So, they left Japan behind. Not like they had much tying them there, as both of them really didn’t have much family to speak of. Once there, they settled into life and focused on work and family. And it was in New York that Hayato and his sisters were born.
From infancy, Hayato proved to be a handful. Such a needy child, he was, always wanting attention, which he usually got as he was the youngest, for a time. One could even go so far as to saying his parents and siblings were his first victims in manipulation, especially since as he got older, it got worse. He began to learn how to best get his way, and usually it ended with his older siblings being pushed to the way side to accommodate Hayato. So, one could guess that, at times, there were sore feelings between the siblings. However, they were siblings, and Hayato did love them dearly. They were always there for him when he got into trouble with bullies, protecting him.
Then it happened. Just before he turned eight years old they leaned that their mother was pregnant again, by accident. With the failure of her tubal ligation, Hoshiko became pregnant once more and had another daughter. While unexpected and largely unplanned for, Yoshiko was happily welcomed into the family. After all, how could they do anything else? Except that Hayato didn’t take to her. At least, not at first. Not until she was the only one left…
Hayato was almost nine years old when his world changed. They had a dinner out as a family, Yoshiko left with a siter, and were returning in the night, on roads slick from rain. Hayato was in the back seat, sitting in the middle of his siblings with Etsuko. Driving faster than he should have been, Naoki spun out of control when he had to swerve to avoid hitting a stray dog. The car flipped and rolled. Hayato’s mother, Suzume and Shouta died almost instantly. Naoki died in the ambulance ride to the Hospital, and his sister, Etsuko, was left in a coma she would never wake from, and Hayato himself never needed to be in intensive care, as his injuries were minimal, and only from shattered glass.
With no known family members to claim them, Hayato and Yoshiko were sent into an orphanage. It was the worst possible scenario for Hayato. His family was taken from him in one fail swoop, leaving him and his baby sister alone. With his personality, which depended on having others around him so much, it became a form of hell, and he clung to his infant sister almost desperately. They were going to stay together. He was going to take care of her, and Etsuko who was still asleep. It was the first sign of true familial bond he had shown, but it was over the top in his possessiveness. So when the time came mere months later when Yoshiko was chosen by a couple to adopt, but Hayato wasn’t (because he was so much older and hard to handle), he was separated from the only living and conscious relative he had left, and he made a fuss about it. He was so distraught over the separation he had to be pulled aside and sedated, spending months under psychiatric care before he was deemed stable enough to be released back into the Foster Care system.
In that time, instead of learning to be a better person from the situation he had been dropped in, he became worse. A little more withdrawn and private… but he sought attention in any way he could. And it led to him getting into trouble. It also led to him not being adopted, nor staying in one foster home for long.
Yes, one can easily imagine how difficult Hayato was to handle. Wild, as many termed it, ignoring authority and going out to do his own thing. When he was a pre-teen and learned about sex and how it could be used, well, that only became another tool for him. So no, he was never raped and never molested. Instead he willingly gave up his innocence in order to gain experience, and with experience came a properly honed tool to use to his benefit. Sex was such a grand tool, he found. It could get him what he wanted, and when he stopped getting that? He could use it to destroy his ‘toy’, something he rather enjoyed. It was the downfall of a few adults, setting their eyes on young, teenage Hayato. One foster father and a female teacher fell at his hands before he was eighteen years of age and out of High School.
Yet through it all, one person kept him from losing himself completely. Etsuko was still there, placed in a Medical Care facility, in a room shared with another coma patient. There, the nurses and doctors, they all saw a side more like the Hayato that use to be. It was a more human and caring boy they saw who made time to visit his sister once a week, and always on her and his own birthdays. They saw the care he took in bringing her flowers and doing things like brushing her hair. With Yoshiko taken from him, Etsuko was all he had left.
After graduating from High School, Hayato went on just as he had before, except his game was stepped up. He slipped into the world of conning and blackmail, using his innate ability to read those around him to use them and toy with them. He bled people of their money, doing so smartly. He always used what he got to live, and stashed the rest away, just in case. He wasn’t stupid enough to try and live above his means. And as such, he managed to do well for himself for just about five years.
It was a cold and grey day when Hayato met the man who was to become his sire. Winter was on and Christmas was coming. Hayato was out finding himself another mark, someone else to play with then they met. Hayato had thought him a perfect target, rich, gullible… but he was wrong. That night, he wasn’t the hunter, he was the hunted. All Hayato would later know was that he was originally suppose to be food, but now he is a vampire not knowing the real reason why his sire had decided to spare him. Hayato does know, however, that he has been given a chance to develop his skills more with his new gift of ‘Suggestion’, which he is desperately trying to learn to control and hone.
At the bequest of his sire, Hayato moved into the Caledonian, given a place to live paid for from his Sire’s immense funds, and his kindness (if you could call it that) did not end there. It extended out to his sister, still in a coma. He moved her into a better hospital, this time with a room of her own, unshared, with better doctors and nurses to care for her. A fact that eased Hayato’s mind as he spent the first couple years learning how to control his urges until he himself felt he would cause no danger to oen of the two people living on this earth he cared about.
Hayato has now been a vampire for coming up on five years. Still in his infancy, he has a lot to learn, and he’s smart enough to know that. So he’s settling down, in his own way, to begin learning the ropes from those willing to teach him. Be that his sire or others older and more knowledgeable. But… he is still young, and he is still every inch the wild troublemaker he was before, and staying out of trouble was never a strong suit of his.

STORYLINES
| Etsuko Fukui
Tentative PB of Noriko Aoyama.
Older Sister. Etsuko entered into a coma at the age of eleven due to a car crash and has yet to waken. She has no idea what has happened to the family, or that her largely annoying younger brother has now become her loving caretaker. |
| Yoshiko (Fukui)
Tentative PB of Motokariya Yuika.
Younger Sister. She was adopted before she turned a year old and separated from Hayato and Etsuko. Hayato has only halfheartedly been searching for her, because he's afraid she wont want him when he finds her. |
| Lycurgus/Leo
Hayato's Sire. Changed because he thought Hayato had some 'balls' for trying to dupe him, he is the Spartan's youngest child. Hayato is attached to him in his twisted way, but is more apt to act like a spoiled child and do things he knows will get him in trouble just to get Leo's attention. |
| Elliot Cohen
His Human. Elli is Hayato's opposite in personality, but he is also someone Hayato knows wont cause undue drama. Therefore, he is now the only human he allows into his Sanctuary, his home. Just maybe there is a little bit of an attachment growing. Maybe... |

| PLOT
± I would like for his Sire to be in play, be it a new character or one already in play. I left it kinda vague for that purpose.
± I would love to have his sister Yoshiko player, who would be in her 20's. I see him as searching for her halfheartedly, since he's kinda afraid of finding her again.
± I'd love for his sister Etsuko to wake up finally, either naturally or through magical help, at which point her being played would be quite awesome as well. And if it was magically aided, he would feel forever indebted to that person.
