Biography
|
It was on the afternoon of Monday May 3, 1982 that Jack Lucas Franklin was born at Alexian Brothers Medical Center to parents Joshua and Marie. He was the middle child of three and only boy of the Franklin children, his sister Jessica being three years older then him while his sister Marissa was four years younger. The Franklin's grew up 40 minutes outside of Chicago in a small town called Elk Grove. Jack had a great life, he had good friends and great parents and occasionally, even enjoyed the company of his sisters, which often proved to be a difficult task. Jack loved just about everything a typical boy did, sports, being outside, comic books, and his father made sure he was able to still have all that when the house was in female rule. He played on a basketball team through his youth but eventually gave it up when he realized he wasn't so much sports orientated when it came to playing them over watching them. His grades were always good in school, which ended up earning him more of the nerd reputation over the basketball star which his father had so hoped for him.
Although Jack dated a handful of girls through his high school and college career he only really had one serious one, and he truly did love her. Her name was Alexis Manning and they were inseparable for most of their relationship. She was a girl he remembered from the neighborhood growing up, and as they got older he couldn't deny the fact that she became very beautiful. They came to realize they had a lot more in common then they ever though. Alexis herself wasn't exactly a typical girl, which was probably why they hit it off so well. When he entered his Junior year old high school and she was just enter her freshman the two started to see eachother and did so for the next two years he attended. Always finding it very easy to ease into each other’s likes and enjoy one another’s company. They were even voted cutest couple in the schools senior superlatives. However, college as it so often does caused a wedge between the happy couple. While Alexis still had two years left, Jack was starting the next chapter of his life and he was going to be doing that in New York. They came to what he thought was a mutual decision and separated right before the fall school year started. However they always harbored feelings for each other as the years continued to pass.
As far back as he could remember Jack always had a love for photography. He took classes in high school and even at the local community college in hopes to better himself, and then finally he decided to go to school for just that. He was accepted at NYU which had always been his dream so he could and work not turn it down for anything. So he packed up his life and headed out to the east coast. It didn't take too long for him to get into his own thing while at school. He enjoyed his classes and made some good friends. One being Dallas Shapiro who became probably the best friend he ever had. After he graduated from college he moved back to Elk Grove and got an apartment with a couple friends as well as a job for a very prominent photographer in town. After a few years he started to do a lot of his own freelancer work and when he finally got enough money he decided to move out to Chicago. He knew there was a better chance for him as a photographer out there then in Elk Grove.
Of course for a while this work until Jack knew working out of his studio wasn't exactly cut out for him. Chicago had been great but he knew it wasn't what was meant for him. And even though he met a lot of great people there and had a short lived relationship with Emma McMannis, he needed to figure out what and where he would go next. So when Dallas contacted him about coming out to New York to open a studio with her well he knew this was his absolute true calling. Jack packed up his life and headed out to the east coast and not too long after inviting his youngest sister came to his doorstep. At first her arrival seemed to be a problem, especially since everything was going on with their parents back in Illinois. However, everything eventually seemed to start to work out for him.
Living in New York had been somewhat of a roller coaster for Jack, but he embraced it as much as he could. Ups and downs happen in life and he understood that. After Dallas' decision to leave, he took over the studio and changed it to Franklin Photography. In March 2010, Jack randomly met a woman by the name of Isabella Moltisanti, she was a single mother to a little girl. Jack had been hesitant at first, but entering the relationship proved to be a great idea. They are a pretty mellow couple, and while others might think that's a little random, it works for them.
