TEODORO REYES
POWERS
HYPERKINESIS: Exactly as it reads, hyperkinesis is the manifestation and control of amplified kinetic energy. By simply making movements that create kinetic energy — punching, kicking, jumping, spinning, stomping and much more — Teo's body transforms it into a powerful concussive and propulsive energy source that he can manipulate. For example, by simply punching towards his opponent — no matter the distance between them — he will create a beam of hyperkinetic energy. Other applications of his power that he has honed: stomping the ground to create a localized earthquake, spinning his leg around to achieve a literal hurricane kick, and a double jump. The last one is created by propulsion, he can jump into the air and literally jump again using the properties of his own powers. In theory, he could fly for a limited amount of time with enough kinetic lift but Teo has not experimented that far into his powers yet.
MARTIAL ARTS: Teodoro knows Shotokan Karate and Jujitsu. He's a third-degree black belt in the former and he has training in weapons such as the bo staff, nunchakus, tonfas, and bladed weapons.
WEAKNESSES
KINETIC ENERGY: Teodoro's power subsists on kinetic energy, the art of moving and launching waves of energy. If he is bound by magic, tied with ropes, or otherwise impedimented by obstacles, he will not be able to use his powers on his opponents. Likewise, if Teodoro is confronted by large amounts of kinetic energy, he might overload his powers and burn out for a few minutes.
MAGIC: Teodoro is just not that well-versed in magic and its properties; in fact, he is a bit skeptical and weary of it. His powers tend to have mild (and consequently negative) reactions to the presence of magic, to the point where he can go haywire if he isn't too careful. Doctors have never pinpointed the cause.
JACQUES DUFAUX
POWERS
SHAPESHIFTING: This is his main power, but it’s divided up into sub-categories. He can shape-shift into elemental or animal/plant items. If it doesn’t exist, basically, then Jacques can’t turn into it. He is much better at controlling himself when he just wants to turn into something human-like. He can turn into an animal now at will, and uses those powers to fly or run away. He could also, of course, use a dangerous animal like a lion or bear to attack people. Depending on his anger, he can also adapt these animals to have sharper claws or teeth than they normally would. But that’s only half-controlled still.
His elemental powers, on the other hand, are more attached to raw emotion like anger and disappointment. He can become bits of the weather like rainstorms and tornadoes, a giant ball of fire (this one’s really common and really effective,) transform himself into lead or other heavy metal to make himself resistant to damage, or even water as a good escape plan. These are much harder for Jacques to control. He’s successfully managed to NOT turn into a hurricane at the touch of a nerve now, but he’s still struggling with managing the skill so he can turn into an elemental object on command.
LEVITATION/FLYING: All right, so he can’t really fly unless he’s a bird at that moment. But sometimes, he begins to float off the ground, especially when in an elemental form. This happens when he’s very frustrated usually.
WEAKNESSES
LACK OF CONTROL: His greatest weakness is his lack of control. His other greatest weakness is his short temper. Both of these things play hand-in-hand. He can rarely become a dangerous elemental object or storm cloud or anything dangerous except an animal on command. He’s getting better at it, but usually the best bet is to piss him off. Then he can do anything. But at the same time, that’s a bad thing, since that’s the time when he gets so out-of-control that he can’t rein it back in. Which, to his great credit, is happening less and less lately. But he still can’t always control what he turns into when, and has had the problem of snowing when he means to freeze, and things like that. It’s easy to catch him as something weak mid-battle enough to injure him, for sure.
ANGER: His anger problems are his other main weakness. If he didn’t have such a temper, he would be a lot less scary. But he does have a temper, so his powers remain unchecked, and it’s frightening to be around sometimes, honestly.
ATTITUDE: Jacques is also incredibly self-conscious and cocky simultaneously about his power. He knows what great potential he has, but he overestimates his own mental strength. It is very easy to catch him in this and beat him at his own game. Plus, he’s incredibly mortal and can be wounded in any of his animal life forms. It’s a little harder to wound fire, for an example, but if someone extinguishes him as that, it would be very hard for him to reproduce that form right away. He’d have to go human for a moment to reconvene, which would of course give an excellent opportunity for someone to attack him and hurt him.
