Whether you've seen her sitting a few feet away from you at Starbucks or checking out Gothic novels at the library it can be said that Isobel Deneuve very well could be described as just your average twenty-something year old girl. A little overly dramatic at times mixed in with of a wild imagination but average at least to a certain degree. Always having her head in a book or putting pen to paper, Isobel is seems to be as normal as they come.
Born in 1982 on All Hollows Eve at exactly 4:10am two minutes after her twin brother Edward, Isobel Catherine Deneuve was the only daughter for both of her parents. Creepy tails of little red riding hood and Hansel and Gretel were among a few of her favorite stories when she was a child. This wouldn't change much as she grew older.
Growing up in a nice home in New York her life was somewhat normal. Her mother(a ballet instructor) and father (a owner of a local art gallery) had been High School sweethearts and were married for about three years before the twins were born. With shiny brown eyes like her father and blond hair like her mother she and Edward both easily could have been mistaken for the children you’d see in Village of the Dammed.
Like most twins they both received deep stares and attention wherever they went. The looks faded away as the two became older which Isobel was grateful for it. She hated having all eyes on her and preferred at that time to hide in the background. During her years in school she was more of a bookworm. Even in kindergarten she would be the first child to run up to the for story-time or doodling with magic markers. When it came time for her to enter High School being captain of the cheerleading squad or homecoming queen didn't excite her.
Creativity was most definitely in her blood and by the time she was in High School people around her seemed to take notice. Despite having a pretty good singing voice it was her brother Edward who took on the passion of making music. While Isobel was busy with her art, Edward was driving their parents crazy in the garage with his rock band. Though her paintings and drawings where dark and even a bit disturbing for someone who looked so innocent they were quite good. So good that her father wanted to feature a few at his gallery. Cleverly signing her work "Bel" Isobel decided to attend NYU after graduation. Her brother decided to leave town to Los Angeles, CA with his band and hopes of getting a record deal.
College for Isobel was much better than High School. There were no plaid skirts and knee socks there. Isobel was finally able to be around other people who liked to do pretty much the same things she did. Once she was finished college she stayed in the city for a few more years before finally deciding to move to Farmington, Maine in mid 2011. Isobel had no desire to travel all over the country like her brother.
