Leah was born March 17th, 1991 to Andrew and Megan Ross. The third and final child of the couple, Leah had two older brothers that protected and tormented her, depending on their moods. This might explain why she had no problem running through the woods covered in mud to play at hunting or to go out fishing as a child. It seemed normal to her and her brothers taught her how. To this day, she still knows how to properly handle a hunting rifle and can knock a soda can off the fence at 50 yards no problem.
Of course she eventually grew up and overtime, the tomboy shine began to wear off, being replaced by the typical girl things that her friends were talking. Around nine she began to show interest in makeup and flowers and sparkles, though she was still rough enough around the edges to be considered "one of the guys" until she was about fourteen. That's when Leah really emerged from her shell and began to wear dresses and makeup to school. Granted there were still some people who would never really see her as a girl. Probably had something to do with her penchant science-fiction and horror films. Not to mention her skills at video games and shooting. She didn't really care to do anything about their views though.
Her sophomore year at high school, a friend talked Leah into auditioning for the school musical and she managed to snag the supporting female role. By the end of the first performance, the girl was completely hooked. The joy of pretending to be someone else. The attention of everyone watching you. On the stage, she felt free. This was going to be her life.
You see, unlike some girls who were always out to get a boyfriend, Leah had a steady one for most of her teenage years. From junior high, all the way through high school. Towards the end of her senior year, as Leah prepared to attend college, she finally had to break it off with the guy. Partly because they were going to be attending different schools and partly because she wanted to see what it was like to be single. She'd never been given that chance. So, with tears in her eyes, she said good-bye and ran off to school in New York. Truthfully, she didn't plan to ever come back.
Alas, life rarely works out as we plan for it to do and in the middle of Leah's sophomore year, her father became very ill with cancer. In order to be close enough to help her family, she immediately moved back to Georgia without caring about school, she'd just take time off or whatever. When she arrived, she found her mom, on her dad's request, had gotten the transfer paperwork for her to attend the University of Georgia. It was fine if she wanted to be closer to home, it was not fine for her to drop out of school.
Now she's working on adjusting to a new school and a new sorority and, in a way, a new life. She travels home at least one weekend a month to visit her dad and on almost all major holidays and hoping with all her might that her life actually works out well.
