kylie anne moore was born in atlantic city, new jersey to a business manager and a writer on a cold january morning in 1987. restless since the start, karen moore has been quoted as saying that because of how often and hard she kicked in the womb, "either this baby is a boy or she's a real bitch." and it just so turned out that kylie was a devil child from the start. she was never quiet, always had something to say and never failed to get herself into trouble. her favorite activity as a child was drawing on walls with crayons or her mother's lipstick. it was so bad that it got to a point where her mother squared off a wall of her room where she had free reign to draw all she wanted. it turned out, however, that once she had permission to do it, she didn't want to anymore. that attribute followed her all throughout her adolescence.

things took a turn for the worst when kylie was about nine years old. her parents began fighting more often, her father was hardly ever home and the five person family had moved into a two bedroom apartment. it wasn't until she was twelve that she really began seeing what was going on with her family. her father had lost his job and her mother had been having an affair. her parents split up in 2000, just in time for kylie to head off for high school. that was when she got her first taste of the party life. she fell in with the wrong crowd and blew off classes and responsibilities in favor of getting wasted and causing havoc in the casinos she snuck into. it wasn't until she realized that she wasn't happy that she decided to move to los angeles and pursue a career as an actress.

she left home at seventeen with her parents barely noticing. she landed her first film role at age eighteen, a movie no one saw. she continued auditioning and found herself an agent who got her into her first real role in veronica mars when she was nineteen. from there, she kept acting in small parts and kept auditioning, and it wasn't until a few years later when things started really taking off. at the same time she scored her role in glee, she began partying again, this time with a little recreational cocaine. she also found it difficult to stay focused at work and began abusing amphetamine pills to keep her going through the day. it wasn't until glee hit its second season that people started noticing that there was a problem, because kylie had always been extremely good at discretion. the fact that she kept everyone she knew at an arms length also helped.

because she lost contact with her family (or rather, refused it once they saw their daughter on their television), her glee cast became her family. while she'd never fully let them in, they let her in and she had become comfortable around them. she truly did care about them, and allowed them to convince her that going to a recovery facility was the best thing to do. while her pills and her drugs were the only things that made her happy, she agreed and came to pasadena. unfortunately, she's still not convinced she has a problem and is extremely unwilling to accept help. this stop on her journey is, as far as she's concerned, a way to get people off her case.

personality
kylie is extremely hard to get to know because she puts up a wall before letting anyone in. trust was earned, not given. once that wall is broken down and she lets you in, however, there is a lot more to her than meets the eye. her sarcastic humor and her affinity for never taking life seriously is an attribute that either annoys or attracts people; attracts on most cases, or so she'd like to think! she is really a simple girl, though most people don't understand her or the way she is, which is exactly what she wants. she's a total goofball with an infectious personality. she has an insane ability to make anyone smile. she's a sweetheart beyond words and holds everyone's best intentions to heart. her infallible ability to put others above herself is part of what makes her a great friend. kylie is the type of person who laughs when it's completely inappropriate, the type who pretends that she doesn't know better, ever. she's the girl who talks in circles but always ends up back at her point. she's the naive girl who has to get burned to realize what she's known all along. she says "i'm sorry" far too much, but she rarely apologizes. she only apologizes when she means it and she doesn't feel that there's many things she does that she would be sorry for. she's pretty quiet about telling people her feelings. she treasures her relationships with her friends more than anything in the world.
