Mythical, beautiful beings that originally hail from another world known as Avalon, Faeries love to view this world as a playground. Morally ambiguous, the only thing that is certain when they're involved is that things are bound to be interesting.

☼ Come in two different kinds.
Seelie Fae are inherently good. They generally seek to help Humans, but they are incredibly snobbish; it is always best to appeal to their vanity and flatter them endlessly. Once they have made a promise they are compelled to keep it by their inborn honor code, and they tend to speak in shades of truth. At night they glow in the dark with the strength of a flickering candle flame.

Unseelie Fae are inherently selfish. They tend to set Humans up for failure and harm, though they will step in to help in order to keep the game afoot for longer. Incredibly chaotic, they make obscene amounts of mischief and seek to disrupt tradition wherever possible. They are always looking out for number one, and the more people they can aggravate in the process of getting what they want the better.
☼ Can teleport between the real world and the world of the Fae at will; doing so leaves behind either sparkles or a tendrils-of-shadow effect, depending on the court alignment.

☼ Are immortal but can be killed by weapons made of any metal containing iron.

☼ Age incredibly slowly on account of their immortality.
Faeries remain children for at least 50 years, transition into teenagers for approximately 100 years, and are considered young adults in either court at 175 years. From there it is not known how Faeries age as many alter their appearance with glamour constantly. This aging process makes things especially problematic for Faeries with a Human parent.
☼ Have a natural form that is the same as Humans, but are capable of shrinking to six inches tall at will.

☼ May possess wings, usually butterfly or dragonfly, though they are not visible on Earth unless the Faerie wills it to be so.

☼ Prone to making mischief and having fun even at the expense of others.

☼ Possess the ability to change certain aspects of their appearance (e.g. hair color, eye color, height, weight, breast size) at will, a feat which is called glamour.

☼ Can learn nature-based magics; most faeries simply use glamour, which influences the minds of their targets.

☼ Immune to mental suggestion, persuasion, and psychic intrusion.
