☼ Have brains, can talk, and are as intelligent and knowledgeable as they were in life. They can think independently, make decisions, and contemplate situations just as any other being.
☼ Don’t feel. The exception to this is the touch from a living creature. Some predatory instinct allows them to sense when they are in proximity to or contact with live flesh. How each zombie reacts to this differs on a case by case basis. Otherwise, they do not respond to things like pleasure, pain, tactile sensations, or changes in temperature.
☼ Have superhuman strength and speed on account of their muscles no longer knowing fatigue. They will keep running until their flesh literally fails.
☼ Lack coordination a lot of the time and aren’t particularly adept at tasks requiring fine motor skills.
☼ Can see in any lighting condition, though they see best in the dark.
☼ Possess keen senses of smell and hearing that allow them to locate the living wherever they are.
☼ Are always hungry.
Zombies have an intense craving to eat live flesh, and any living creature will do. The larger the creature, however, the more satisfying experience. They will not die without feeding, but this desire is incredibly difficult for them to resist, and they can go berserk if they spend too long around the living without feeding.☼ Take damage from white magic. Any attempt to heal a Zombie’s injuries with healing spells will damage them, and a resurrection spell cast upon them will destroy them completely and totally.
☼ Do not possess souls. Though they have the memories and thoughts of the person they were before dying it is not known what happens to the soul when a Zombie is resurrected, but it definitely does not stay with the body.
☼ Decompose.
Though it is at a slower rate than the average body, Zombies have to worry about natural decomposition. Zombies who were embalmed before rising decay more slowly, but a year takes quite the toll on their bodies.☼ Can be healed with negative energy.
This "healing" will reverse any and all decay and restore the body to the condition it was in at the time of death. Negative energy includes black magic spells and being in the presence of a Demon or Witch for extended periods of time. Being taken to Hell will restore a Zombie’s body instantly. Because of this they tend to ally themselves with Demons and Witches, frequently reluctantly.☼ Can be killed only by destruction of the brain.
