biography
Caleb William Marx was born the first child and first son to Victor and Ella Marx. The couple had been married just over a year when their new baby boy arrived and Ella was ecstatic. Her entire life, she'd dreamed of being a wife and mother. The only thing that may have put a damper on the birth of her child was that his father missed the entire thing. At the time of Caleb's birth, Victor was serving over seas as a member of the United States Marines. Caleb was nearly six months old when Victor finally held his son but it would be Victor's last deployment. The remainder of his time in the military, Victor served as a training officer. He never wanted to miss another moment of his child's life. When Caleb turned four, Victor left the Marines to join a fellow ex-Marine and mentor in a business venture in New York.

The second Caleb Marx learned how to walk, he was practically off and running. The days seemed rather endless to his mother Ella as she chased after a little boy who never slowed down. The day after he turned two, he decided for himself and his mother that nap times were a thing of the past. Ella was a stay at home mother though there were days when she questioned whether getting a job might be a little more restful during the day than staying home with her rambunctious toddler. The exhaustion aside; however, Ella loved being mommy and couldn't imagine allowing anyone else to raise her son while she went off to work for a paycheck that would just barely cover the cost of daycare.

At the age of five years old, Caleb began kindergarten. With a second child now to care for as well, Ella was somewhat relieved to have a portion of her day to devote to her daughter. Not that Caleb was intentionally an attention hoarder, he was just a very curious and adventurous young boy. He did; however, adore his baby sister and tried very hard to include her in his play. This sometimes did more harm than good considering Caleb's little sister was four years younger than him and not quite ready for the rough housing her older brother's play usually involved. But Caleb was quite thrilled to make new friends in kindergarten and it wasn't long before he was the center of attention on the playground, already commanding control of his troops at an early age.

With a father who was ex-military and involved in the private security sector, it was only natural that Caleb take an interest in the things his father was interest in. At the age of 10, Vic bought Caleb a BB gun and taught him how to properly use it. At the age of 12, Caleb was enrolled in hunter's safety and began to hunt with his father and his father's business partner. Caleb became quite a good marksmen and even participated in competition trap shooting. But he was also very skilled and naturally athletic. In high school, he played football and basketball and by his senior year, scouts were recruiting him to play ball at various colleges. But Caleb had other plans that didn't include any further interest in academics. Immediately following high school graduation, Caleb joined the Marines. A year into his service for the country, he was recruited to be a Marine sniper. Caleb spent eight years in the Marines before, at the age of 26, he decided to join his father in business.

Victor Marx's former business partner suffered from pancreatic cancer and lost his battle with the disease. Vic bought his former partner's half the business and it became Marx Security Consulting. He asked Caleb to join him and that was what Caleb did, getting an apartment in Manhattan and going to work. It was different from the Military but Caleb settled in just fine. He met a woman at the age of 33, something his mother began to think would never happen. She hoped her son would settle down and give her grand babies. Things didn't quite go that way though.

On November 21, 2010, Lola Ann Marx was born. Two months into Jenna's pregnancy, both she and Caleb had decided to call the relationship quits. Jenna struggled with Caleb's work schedule as well as a few personality traits she couldn't quite overlook. Those were her words almost exactly but Caleb had already known the breakup was coming and wasn't against it. Things between the two had been going stale for months. They'd taken the step to move in together and found that they weren't as compatible as roommates as they'd hoped. Jenna was unaware she was pregnant at the time. She only figured it out after she'd already moved out of their shared apartment but it really didn't change much in her eyes. She's a good mother and Caleb is grateful that she's very mature and fair when it comes to his rights as Lola's father. At this point, he has he gets his daughter on Thursday morning and returns her to her mother on Sunday evening. Five months after his daughter ws born, Caleb decided to move outside of the busy and often dangerous city. He purchased a house in Tarrytown.

personality
Caleb Marx has no tolerance for bullshit. Sure, he has a sense of humor and enjoys a good laugh. But when the situation calls for a level head, Caleb will not tolerate anyone's crap. His biggest pet peeve is lying and he has a pretty good gut instinct that he tends to follow 99 percent of the time. At least 98 percent of the time, his instincts never let him down. Now and then, he tends to be a little black and white, but only because the gray in between can be so inconclusive and indecisive. Having served in the Marines, he was trained to make decisions in a matter of seconds and take actions accordingly. He was forced to see things in a black and white world in order that he could make the types of decisions he needed to, some which his survival banked on as well as the survival of those he was charged to protect.

Though his first instincts might be to judge, he tries hard to show compassion and understanding for his fellow man. He may not always understand the point of view of others but he reminds himself that there are always more than one side to every story and he doesn't always have the complete picture. As for family and friends, Caleb is loyal beyond question unless they give him a reason not to be.
