Bane Zachary Michaels was born in to what could be one of the most ridiculous families to ever roam the earth. Born in Coffin Bay South Australia on March 23, 1986, Bane's parents believed that their third born son must've been a gift from God, because their older twin boys were obviously a gift from Satan. The Michaels parents were a very religious pair. They believed that if they followed the way of the Good Book and lived for Jesus, they would go to heaven, and they wanted their children to live the same way. It didn't take very long for them to realize that their first born boys would be a handful when it came to their way of life, and by the time Bane was born, they had all but given up on them. So instead of wallowing and trying their best, they turned all their attention and efforts on to their new blue eyed, blonde haired baby boy. They took him to church two times a week, and instead of reading him bedtime stories, they read him the Bible. When it came right down to it, Bane was the perfect child in their eyes. He believed everything they told him, he said please and thank you, and best of all, he all but ignored his brothers (who didn't really care that he ignored them, to be quite honest).

It wasn't until Bane was five that things began to change. With the arrival of the Michaels' fourth child and first girl, Alyssa, Bane was all but ignored by his parents, which confused him. He'd done all they'd ever told of him, and he'd believed every single word they said. It was at that time that his brothers, now thirteen, snaked their way around him and began pulling him over to the dark side. Bane began "acting out" in his parents eyes, and began questioning and talking back. His favorite word was no and he didn't hesitate to throw a fit if he didn't want to do something. Bane's parents, angered and annoyed, did everything they could to make Bane see that their way was God, but by the time Bane was nine, he would have none of it. In his eyes, Bane's way was his own, and if someone didn't like it, tough. He was a snarky little shit who hung out with his brothers friends who were twice his age and he loved it. Though he didn't do anything very bad, he did do everything that his parents disapproved of and that was okay by him.

Things took another change when Bane was ten. The second his brothers were old enough to leave the house, they did so, packing up their surfboards and heading to Bali to persue careers in professional lady watching and surfing. Bane begged and pleaded for them to take him, but it was no use. They made empty promises of returning back for him once they were settled, but after four months and no word, Bane gave up hope. He began acting out even more now, staying out way after the sun went down and hanging out with questionable people who let him stick around for their amusement only. Bane's parents, much like they did to their first born sons, all but gave up on the poor boy who was really only looking for attention until he was brought home by the police one night for breaking curfew and breaking and entering. It was all they could take, and within a week, Bane found himself on a plane to the US where he would live with his grandfather, who he'd only heard horror stories about.

When Bane met his grandfather, Charlie, for the first time, he expected to meet someone exactly like his own father, just a little older. He was surprised when he was greeted by an older man in a Hawaiian shirt with a young woman on his arm. Bane almost thought he was being kidnapped for a minute, but he had seen pictures of the man before, so he knew it was him. Charlie was...well, Charlie was the complete opposite of his son. He loved women, he loved sin, he loved cursing and smoking illegal substances. He drank like a fish and slept with a new woman almost every single night. The man was a legend in the Bay, not only for his impeccable libido, but because he owned a number of car dealerships and always, always told people he was giving them deals, when in fact he was just ripping them off. He was a character, and after a little time and the realization that him being there would get his grandfather laid twice as much, Bane grew to like the old man. They didn't talk much, but Charlie always had a stocked fridge, always had money in his wallet in case Bane needed any, and always, always gave him whatever he wanted. The Michaels parents believed they were punishing their youngest boy by sending him to the states, but in reality, they had just given him the best give parents could give a child- freedom.

By the time Bane reached high school, his grandfather had legally adopted Bane from his parents and had gone through all the steps to make him a legal citizen. Bane liked it, he'd made friends and stayed out of trouble, and Charlie liked having someone around who was family. In high school, Bane was popular only because of his looks. Really, he was socially awkward and terrified of the opposite sex. People often wondered if he was gay, and though he'd had sexual relations with more than one girl during his high school career, he never answered yes or no. He wasn't, but he could not handle high school girls, or any girls for that matter. They were walking, talking time bombs and they made him so nervous he could barely stand it. He had one girlfriend- a secret girlfriend who he didn't have to hold hands with in public or do anything besides kiss her goodnight and call her over whenever he wanted something, but that didn't last long. Apparently girls don't like keeping anything a secret, so they ended it on interesting terms and Bane went back to doing his own thing. He played sports, football and baseball, and was crowned prom king his senior year. He graduated top of his class in 2004, and after a fantastic summer of hard partying and waking up hung over almost every single day, he packed his things and headed to UCLA.

College was where Bane broke out of his shell. He played football, grew a beard and joined a frat, and there was something about college girls and their willingness to take their clothes off that made him less scared of them. In every single way, Bane had turned in to one of those douche frat guys that everyone kind of hated, but he was still the nice guy he had always been. In school, he studied biology, not in hopes of becoming a scientist but because he wanted to be a teacher. It was something that people didn't really understand but when it came down to it, Bane liked teaching people new things, and it was something he wanted to do. Four years later he graduated and began his journey on becoming a real teacher and once he had all the skills and training under his belt...he was stuck. There were no teaching jobs anywhere in the LA area that wanted him, so he took a job at a local restaurant, serving the rich and famous their meals at night and applying anywhere, to any high school. For six months of his life, it sucked to be him, but after receiving a call from back home saying that his old high school was looking for a science teacher, he packed his bags and headed back home, and landed the job.

Bane is now almost twenty-six and has been working at Carmel high as the resident hot science teacher for over a year. He found a nice loft apartment in Monterey, so the commute is short and enjoyable, and he's close enough to his grandpa so he can see him whenever he wants. Bane is happy, and can say without ease that this is the happiest he's ever been.
