personality & background Soon we must all face the choice, between what is right and what is easy. _______________________________
Growing up, Chorong's abilities were never a kept secret in the Park household. The girl had no control over how or when she harnessed her abilities, so her parents knew from a very early age that their daughter was born a mutant. Mutant was a word tossed around casually between mother and father, leaving Chorong with her first experience as an outcast. These feelings only grew when Chorong had become home schooled, and by the age of thirteen (she would come to realize this was the end of the line with her parents, that they couldn't stand having a daughter with a mutation) she moved in with her Aunt. After moving to live with her Aunt, Chorong only kept in touch with her parents by mail. She keeps a stack of letters along with small items that remind her of home. She is not completely estranged, however unwelcome she is around the household. Instead, Chorong chooses to only contact her family on Chuseok.
Once she had moved in with her Aunt, experimentation with her abilities really began. Turning on and off lights by choice, being able to extend the glow of a candle's flame, control the light streaming in through blinds or light reflections on wet cobblestone. Granted, not every attempt worked or was successfully strong, but she knew she had something special. Anywhere and everywhere Chorong could practice, she would. Being home schooled even into her late teens helped Chorong get a grasp on her abilities but she knew she would never be able to really harness her real abilities without instruction. It was unclear how her Aunt came about the information, but Chorong was finally sent to Xavier-Lee to do just that - learn. Now in her fourth year, Chorong has become much more social than she was when she first arrived. Learning on a schedule and with other classmates was a strange transition from her home schooled life, but it was a change she readily accepted.

definition; power What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are. _______________________________
Chorong can manipulate light from any source that can generate it: electricity, fire, even the sun. She cannot control those elements, such as stopping the electricity or putting out the flame, but she can control how much light they release. Both strengthening and diminishing the light. Her abilities can also include light bending (an advanced stage to trick the eyes), creating holographs and creating light particles. Despite being Gamma level, Chorong has not harnessed these abilities yet. In fact, her growth is slower than those around her.
Chorong was born with significant damage to her somatosensory nerves in her spine, which results in loss of sensation and perception. To elaborate, Chorong cannot feel texture, pain or temperature in her hands and arms, nor can she perceive where in space her hands are. Even if she holds her hands out in front of her, Chorong is unable to sense where they are, for example, to avoid knocking into something. She was diagnosed with congenital insensitivity. Due to injuries as a child (wherein Chorong tried to grab a candle's flame repeatedly, and reached into a pot of boiling water to retrieve a lost utensil), Chorong now wears gloves on her hands. They are white lace, thin, but the fabric helps Chorong with her disorder. Anything that can tear her gloves indicates sharpness, any burns indicates something too hot, etc., and has become a buffer for her. Even though her gloves only come in handy a few rare times, she wears them like a cape. Something to cover her scars and make her feel protected. As a result of her disorder, Chorong's learning has slowed. Attending Xavier-Lee will continue helping her progress quicken so her potential can truly be controlled.
