all about danny.
Danny grew up in the public eye: his parents marriage, scandal and subsequent divorce meant he was never that far from the redtops. It was a jarring experience, seeing his parents faces splashed across gossip magazines like The National Enquirer with white headings asking if the Brightland family was headed for meltdown. Even more difficult to bear was the picture of his half-sister, the girl who had set his world off kilter and who, as he put it, fucked everything up royally. Danny had never expected his father to be faithful to his mother ; after all, he’d inherited the wandering eye from the old man but he’d expected him to show a bit of class and to remember to wear a fucking rubber once in a while. Liannes presence gave him an excuse to go off the rails and drag the Brightland name even further into the mud and it wasn’t entirely hushed up that he’d been ‘asked’ to leave. This ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ attitude continued into his personal life; he could never keep his attention on anything longer than five minutes except when it kept his attention.
Danny comes across as the eternal party boy; at first glance he comes across as wanting nothing more than beer, football and a willing woman. However, as evident by his very presence at a prestigious Ivy League University, there is more to him than meets the eye. When it comes to more in-depth topics he doesn't speak often, choosing instead to listen and keep his opinions close to the vest. That doesn't mean he is lacking in opinions, however. He has an opinion about nearly every thing, event and person he comes across but simply prefers to wait, seeing if he was right or wrong.
As the eldest male son, Danny resents the role he has to fill. He has no desire to be the first born, but still accepts the role and the life that is going to be his after Pearson. He knows that once he graduates he will have to spend his life in bespoke suits, board rooms and entertaining dull people at dull events. Pearson then is his chance to relax, unwind and enjoy himself while he can. He is very much of a carpe-diem person and loves a challenge, whether it is drinking the wellington full of beer or finding an inferiore who continues to push at him.
Danny gets impatient often; he’s always lurching from one new craze to another and over the past couple of years he’s been a member of many societies and only stuck with ones which appeal to the differing sides of his personality. He is almost completely self-absorbed; putting his own needs, comforts and desires ahead of that of the ones around him. He is however a good friend, if you appeal to that side of him. He’s generous with his money - not really his yet, just his fucktard of a fathers, doesn’t like talking about his family or the scandal which threatened to engulf the generations of Brightlands and their reputation.
However, there's a darker side to Danny. He's quickly established himself as the go-to man for things. Especially secrets about Inferiore. Danny is the man to go to when you want to find out about who owns who. He knows which Superiore are the ones who won't put up a fight when their inferiore are 'commandeered' by others and which ones to avoid. He's the guy you want to go to when you need an unowned inferiore for a party favour and he's got a habit of collaring Freshers and keeping them for a few months until the value of virgins/fresh meat has gone up and he can get more favours/connections for them.
He's got a habit of using them as poker bets too.

Danny’s tanned from growing up outside in Australia and slouches around in jeans and t-shirts that are usually cut off to show his physique. He’s built from the hours he spends in the gym and he really does love nothing more than being looked at; whether its playing a game of pick up rugger in the Quad so the women can ogle him or choosing a pretty inferiore on his arm who complements his outfit or chugging the beerbong down in one go. Danny dresses to accentuate his body and claims his hair colours 100% natraul just like him. (Just don’t mention the lemon juice he uses to lighten it when no ones looking. It’s a tip he picked up form his elder sister.) Danny can often than not be found in designer ripped jeans, t shirt and the latest must have sneakers on his feet. There’s always at least some form of electronic gadget nearby him; whether a phone or an ipad he has to be reached and keep up with whats happening.

BACKGROUND INFO
Gordan Brightland liked things which were bright, shiny and could belong to him and his wife Millie was no exception. The moment he saw her across the room he knew he wanted to collect her and keep her all to himself and so he set about pursuing the young Millie Sandford with gusto. Bouquets of roses were sent to her office, entire fairgrounds were booked for the two of them so Gordan could steal a kiss from his girl in the tunnel of love and once, a string quartet were sent to play in the grounds of her house (after suitably bribing a gardener to aid him). Gordon got what he wanted and the young heiress to the Sanford fortune fell in love with and married the heir to the multi-million pound Brightland Fortune. The Brightlands were known for having a finger in every pie and the Brightland Foundation encompassed just about every business with one similarity; it made money. Gordons main interest lay in the jewelry business - the glitz, the glamour, the well-heeled connections. On the surface, everything looked wonderful and Millie quickly fell pregnant with their eldest daughter, and then another daughter and finally a third. It seemed that the one thing that Gordon needed to carry on his legacy was the one thing that Millie couldn’t give him and cracks in their marriage began to develop under the shiny surface of parties, cocktails, and being seen to be seen.
In late 1990, Millie fell pregnant under the belief that a final baby could fix their marriage and after traveling to ensure the buyout (and dismissal of the entire workplace), Millie went into labour six weeks early in as Danny puts it, butt-fuck America. Hobokin, New Jersey wasn’t suitable for a Brightland baby to be born and as soon as mother and son were able to, the doting father whisked them away back to the more gentile society of their New York apartment.
Danny grew up entitled and confident of his own sense of worth. He was the heir, HE was the shoulders on which the Brightland fortune rested and he was going to make it work. However, he was also going to have a fucking good time doing it and it was this ‘play over homework’ that ensured he got kicked out of two prestigious boarding schools on the East Coast by the time he hit 15. By this time, he’d already been joined by a younger brother who had been named (of all things) Hank.
Just before he turned fifteen, it emerged that daddy Brightland had been playing away with his wifes best friend and much more unforgivable than that, a baby had been born. Lianne was five months older than Hank and had enough of the tell-tale shock of blonde hair to confirm (even before the paternity tests) that Gordon had sired yet another daughter. Millie took it as the final straw and his parents engaged in a bitter divorce suit that had the prenup lawyers salivating almost as much as gossip columnist.
Millie got a very healthy divorce settlement and even a new fiance in the shape of the marriage counselor the couple had been going to for years. Gordon got himself a new 20 year younger model and continued to enjoy himself in a way that makes Danny wince every-time he opens the tabloids. As he was under-age, Millie got full custody and the news Mrs Hoffman moved her brood far from Gordans watchful eye. All the way to Australia.
Australia was a shock. It was warm, the girls wore practically nothing and once he got over the drawl he loved it. Danny embraced life down under as his new home, joining the soccer society, the rugby society and quickly gaining a new circle of friends. He learned the lingo and could make a passable aussie accent within six months of being in the country. Whats more, away from the distractions of boarding school and with the ability to go home at the end of the day, his grades began improving. He’d always been smart - almost laconically smart (acing end of year tests but failing to hand in homework or prepare for pop quizzes) and in Australia they began steadying out. He kept in touch with some of his older siblings through skype and developed a slightly geeky side when it came to technology; reading up on the latest developments and products so he could keep one step ahead of the game. One thing he’d learned from his father was it wasn’t enough to be rich, you had to have something that someone else wanted. Danny always ensured he had the best looking girl (but not one that was easy, he loved a challenge) and when it came to the time for sending out college applications he decided that where he really wanted to be was the states. Applying to only Ivy League schools, Danny used his grades, his connections and his family name to get into Pearson. He didn’t know about the system beforehand but he knew a few people who had gone and they told him that Pearson was the school for him.
And it was. Danny LOVED the system since he was on the right side of it and ensured that he had the prettiest/most talented inferiore he could. His laundry he could send out, his food he could order but there were other duties his inferiore had to perform, the least of which was being seen with a Brightland and looking like they deserved to be seen. He’s been at Pearson for two years now and finds himself inferioreless since his previous one turned out to be all shine and no substance. He’s no doubt he’ll find another pretty inferiore to take her place, because after all, isn’t that what Pearson’s about? Sampling the buffet?
He’s carved out a niche for himself; Danny is the go to bloke if you want to Know. Connections, backgrounds, dirty little secrets - this blond deals in them all. An owned inferiore take your fancy? Danny knows their schedule and if the owner is the sort who could be persuaded to look the other way whilst their property is used or reclaimed. Because to him, thats what its all about. Knowing gives him power and he’s the sort to surround himself with those that feed that knowledge. He knows all the right people, is part of the right clubs and treats everything as though its a joke. It’s not uncommon to be invited to one of his poker nights and have an inferiore or two be the currency of the evening. Danny especially deals in the unusual - he’s not above collaring a few shy, retiring freshman who take their first teetering steps on campus and keeping them a few weeks. After the initial rush, the price of a girl with her cherry goes up and Danny likes cashing in.
