Biography

BACKGROUND INFORMATION When Victoria and Nicholas found out they would be expecting their third and final child in the Taylor family, they were both surprised and excited. This one wasn’t planned, but they both knew that God graced them with another child and they would be happy with having three beautiful children. After telling Brooklyn and Vincent that they would have another little brother or sister running around, the Taylor family began getting things ready for when the little one would arrive. As the months grew on and the parents found out they would be welcoming another little girl, Brooklyn would be the one to help in picking out the name and helping to decorate the nursery. So, on September 15th, 1985 Victoria and Nicholas welcomed Amelia into the world and the family was then complete. Everyone was thrilled to have her finally at home and both the older siblings helped quite a bit in taking care of her and things around the house while Victoria was busy caring for the little one.

Growing up, Mia was your average happy go lucky child. She rarely ever met enemies, she was always surrounded by friends and she kept good grades. She enjoyed the outdoors and was always finding animals to bring home - be it a dog, cat, turtle, it didn’t matter. If she found it - it came home with her. Soon the Taylor home was becoming more of a zoo than a family home, but Mia’s parents never said a word. When she wasn’t carting home some animal, you could bank on finding her playing with a boy across the street named Riley James. From the moment those two could walk, they seemed to go everywhere together. Usually up in their favorite tree. The one that was so tall you could overlook the whole town. They’d spend hours up there – listening to the birds chirp, listening to the wind blow, watching the sunset and rise in that one lonely tree. As they got older, each of their groups of friends intermingled with the other and soon it was the common joke that they were dating even though they hadn’t even held hands, let alone shared a kiss between each other. Still, their friendship never wavered.

Once in high school, Mia had no problems. She was in Choir, pep-club and even joined cheer-leading her junior and senior year. It would be the summer of her sophomore year that she would see Riley in a new light. Both of their groups of friends got together at a football game and like any get together they were all thrown together - both of their little groups of friends. Nothing really changed; she talked to him a little bit and then went back to her group, just like it usually went. But, she remembered something he said and she turned to find him watching her - watching her in a way that was more than just a friendly look. She could feel him looking so hard like he was searching her soul and at that very moment, she noticed not just a friendly guy friend, but an incredibly attractive guy with beautiful blue eyes and a smile that could melt a girl’s heart. After the game as she was heading to her car; she’d just got her license and was super excited that her parents had let her drive the family car and just as she unlocked her door, someone leaned against the vehicle. When she looked up she saw Riley. Her heart hit the ground. She honestly felt that she’d fallen in love, no matter how young and naïve she was. There was something about Riley James that she’d never noticed before, but at that very moment there was nowhere else she’d wanted to be than right there with him; to know every single little thing about him. It was that night that she would call her mom and tell her she’d be late. They set on the hood of her car and watched the stars until sunrise and they were inseparable from that day on. She'd do anything in the world for him and has been there through thick and thin with him. That was until the last week of her senior year, when she was passed a note that said Riley had cheated on her with a girl on Prom. Mia was distraught. The rest of the day it took everything in her not to confront the girl or Riley, but she held it together until she made it to her car. Riley noticed something was wrong and when he asked, she asked about Prom. When his face went white, Mia knew her answer and quickly got in her car and left. After that day, Mia requested to change who she was walking down with and didn’t speak to him. Once graduation was over, Mia left and didn’t look back.

College came easily for Mia. She got good grades, and made friends just as easily as she did in high school. Four years later, Mia graduated in business management and found a job upstate. Unfortunately, it wasn’t anything that she hoped it would be, and after a year she quit and moved back to Galveston and got a bar tending job at a local Open mic bar. It wasn’t what she had planned to do with her life, but she was happier and that’s really all she ever wanted. That was when she ran into some old friends and into Riley once more. While she was still hurt over what he had done, she forgave him and they slowly started to mend their friendship. After all, they had been best friends since they were tiny little tots. Over the course of the next couple of years, they would go through hell and back together, but finally end up in a relationship. That relationship would help them move to Washington where they opened up a Photography studio and continued to work on their relationship, but things would soon unravel and after a proposal, Riley and Mia would find themselves taking a break from each other. That break would finally be the end to them. Soon someone else would make their way into Mia's life; completely unexpected and instantly a blessing, Michael McCoy would win her heart. The future was looking promising for the two of them. So promising that Mike proposed and Mia finally felt she had found someone she could settle down with… and she accepted. The beginning was very exciting, but as the months went by, Mia was feeling more and more like Mike didn’t care about the wedding and in the end Mia broke off the engagement and did was she did best – run. She left Washington and wound up in New York. A complete fresh start where no one knew her and she wouldn’t have the burden of hearing people say ‘I told you so’ or ‘knew you’d run’. ’. After a year, Mia started to miss Seattle. She'd made a life there; no matter what had happened with Mike, she had been happy there and after some long talks with her mother and friends, Mia decided to move back to Washington. It had become home and she missed the friendships she'd made while being there. The move went smoothly and before she knew it, life was falling back into routine. She started bartending again and really started working on her music again.

Over the next couple of years, Mia's life went really smoothly. She enjoyed her job and moved up into a management position and was content in her life. She was able to bring her own flare into the bar; Mia executed a small Open Mic section to the bar which flourished. She was able to see talent twice a week, plus she was able to play her own songs which excited her. She could finally say she was happy. In the late Spring of 2015 an old boss from her time in New York would call and offer her a job of a lifetime. It would take Mia a little bit to figure out finances and things for the move, but she would take the plunge and move cross country back to New York to be co-owner of a new bar that had just opened. The best part - she was in charge of the Open Mic portion of the bar. It was a dream come true for Mia and she couldn't pass it up. The bar has been doing really well in the few months that Mia has been there and is excited to see how it will continue to blossom over time.
