There are times when we will add or change the rules. When we do, we will notify all current members about the changes.


Rules to know before Applying

Rules to know BEFORE Applying
You must be 17 years or older to apply. Adult situations may and will occur, so we want to make sure everyone is old enough to handle it.
You can request a character's played by to be held at any time. Holds will last five days. After that, you must apply with a journal you've already made for the character. There will be no competing for pb's - its a first come first serve policy.
Please make your character's journal before you apply and apply with it. The journal must be in character. First and/or last name included. We will accept initials and underscores. For example, if your character's name is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, you could use jdmorgan, jeffdmorgan, jdm, jeffdeanm, jdeanm, jd_morgan and so on.
Your character's journal is basically THEIR online journal/blog. There you can have them write their thoughts, feelings, talk about their day, etc. Keep in mind that people can [and will] comment on your entries, so make sure if the thoughts are private, or locked so only a select few people can see it, label it accordingly.

    If you intend for a journal entry to be private, you must indicate such by placing what your character intends to be private within parameters such as "[PRIVATE] Insert secret stuff here. [/PRIVATE];" such entries are to be read as private thoughts of the character and may not be utilized in character.

    You may also lock certain entries to other characters. Be sure, once again, to indicate who the entry is readable or unreadable to -- e.g., "[READABLE TO PETER] or [LOCKED TO FAMILY]."
    Any text that is struck through should be read as text that the character initially typed, but opted to delete. It also should not be utilized as in character knowledge of any form.
Before applying make sure that behind a cut there is a journal entry specifically for you characters history, personality, and at least 10 facts about them. Place the link to your character's biography in the appropriate location in the application. We do prefer it be in third person.
Please have an OOC contact post and an IC contact post up befor applying. We ask for links in the application.
Example journals. Not everyone has one, not everyone logs their AIM scenes. If this is the case for you, feel free to PM the mod journal and we can work something out. In most cases, we'll just ask you to write up a thread example or a narrative.
Play-bys. We don't really have many rules on this. You see a face, you like it, use it. If your character is apart of one of the families, please do your best to find a PB that will fit their nationality. As for ages, the PB can't be more than five years older/younger than the character you're using, but please make sure that face can pass for your character's age.

    No PB under the age of seventeen is allowed.
    If you wish to change your PB at any time, just drop us a comment in the drop box and we'll change it.

Rules to know as a Member
NO god-modding at all. It's rude to the other players, and you will get warned/banned if you're doing it.
We'd like to keep this a drama-free zone, OUTSIDE of the rp. Do not line cross. IC | OOC Things done IC are not a attack on you OOC.
Characters are limited to seven. No member can have more than seven characters at one time. We ask you to be active with all of the characters you do bring in. To bring in more, you do need to send in an application. You must list all of your current characters in the example section of the application. In order for a new character to be accepted when you're already in game, we ask that you have met the sweeps requirements for that month for at least half of your current characters.

    In addition to this, if you have more than three characters at any given time, do not keep all of your characters the same sex. Some sort of balance is nice.
    If you bring in a new character that is on the same side as any of your current characters, PLEASE keep their interaction limited. Stay completely neutral when it comes to your characters. We do not encourage players playing characters within the same family, however, we know there are key roles we need filled and if we feel a player can handle it, we will allow it. At any time, if we feel a player is unable to keep a solid balance, we will discuss it with him or her before deciding to remove their character(s).
Activity If your character has failed to meet requirements, he/she will be removed from the game at the end of the two month mark. You are more than welcome to reapply.
We expect one of the following bi-monthly:

    Entries should be at least two detailed paragraphs. They can be private, blocked to certain people or public to all characters. Entries should be posted in your character journals.
    Narratives will count as entries, not threads. Narratives can be posted in your character's journal or in dfthreads.
    Threads must have six replies for each character involved. If you have started a thread but it was abandoned by another player, that will count for activity for your character. Threads and logs can be posted in a character's journal (feel free to use a custom group, just add the mod if you want it to count for activity) or in dfthreads.
Comments. In the past, characters have used the subject line to mark the comments as private. However, not everyone remembers that. If the comments are not marked as private, they are public knowledge. If you are leaving a comment that you may not want to be public, try to remember to abuse the subject line.
Serious story lines that may be offensive or off-putting to others, [like kidnapping, rape, drugs, abuse, attempted suicide, etc] are perfectly fine. Just please PM or drop box the mods before you decide to go there just so we can be aware of it. Also, make sure to label all threads with a warning.

    In order for other characters to have more plots opened for them, do not plot-hog. If something happens to your character, but it didn't have the effect you wanted, you have to wait until you start planning something else. If you want the plot to be effective, think it out. If it involves NPCs, write a detailed narrative. Don't just throw a post of in your character's journal saying what happened. The mods want details just as much as other players do.
If you feel you want to, you CAN kill off your own characters, but not anyone else's unless you've gotten permission from them. Also, make sure to PM the mods regarding it BEFORE the fact, just so we know.
Hiatus. Real life happens. Computers crash. It happens. Please inform the mods as soon as you can. Give us a reason why, unless it's too personal. We're pretty understanding when it comes to RL issues. We'll mark your character has on hiatus and it would help, greatly, if you have a story line prepared. Vacation, business trip, whatever. It'll make things easier for the other characters. If you don't have a story line set up, you're leaving it open for the mods to decide.
Pregnancy. We don't want EVERY female being pregnant. Currently, the limit is THREE pregnancies. This may change when/if the community gets larger.
To run a pregnancy line by us, please visit the drop box. We do not promise to okay a pregnancy line. We will discuss it with ALL characters that will be effected.
If you are planning on bringing in a character that is currently pregnant, please ask us before you apply! The pregnancy limit extends to future members as well as current.
Locations A list of Locations can be found here. We will add locations as the game progresses, but we rely on our members to submit locations using the form found in the drop box. Locations can be added, changed and edited at any time.
Communities. We have a few different communities connected to our game. They are as follows:

    Die Fighting is our IN CHARACTER community. This can be used for any public notices, club/restaurant/bar openings or special events, lyric or video posts. You don't need to do an IC intro post, but if you would like to, do so here. We ask that any texts, voice mails, e-mails, anything personal to any other character be posted on that character's IC contact post.
    Die Fighting OOC is our OUT OF CHARACTER community. This may be used to notify other members about hiatuses or even introducing yourself once accepted. You can also post any plot ideas who you have here.
    DF Threads is our THREADING AND LOG community. Here, you will post scenes between characters. You don't need to post every scene you do, but feel free! This will keep members up to date on what is going on behind the scenes. Please use the usual log format (who, what, when, where) and if it's a mature scene (sex, violence, harsh language), please label it as such.
    DF Wanted is our STORY LINE community. Anyone can join this community and here, you're able to post wanted lines and connect with other members and future members looking for lines.
