 TENSIONS RISE by Die Fighting Crime rates within our cities are at a record high and our boys in blue can't seem to keep up. For decades, the Bay Area has lived in a slight realm of peace. Many of us just ignored the hows and whys, but now we're asking "What the H is going on?". Is this gang related? Drugs? Where have our unsung heroes gone and why have they left us to fend for ourselves? Though we may ignore the true underbelly of our cities, we could easily pinpoint the source responsible for our carefree years. A young Italian man came to the West Coast in the 1920's, around the time of The Prohibition . Luca Marsala kept illegal speakeasies stocked and jumping during the dry days. Since then, The Marsala's have seemed to be a permanent fixture in our lives. All the men tied to the late Luca Marsala have continued to deny rumors of criminal involvement. [As if we would expect a confession.] Records will show that crime rates had dropped drastically since the Marsala Family has stepped in. However, over the few years, the tight grip they had on the cities has loosened, allowing other families to step in. Most notably, a once peaceful motorcycle gang calling themselves The Sons of Silence. We have all seen them around, riding around on their Harley's and wearing leathers. For a long while, they kept to themselves and the smaller towns bordering The Bay Area. It seems they would like to get their hands in the cookie jar. |
