QUOTE.
Sometimes fate is like a small sandstorm that keeps changing directions. You change direction but the sandstorm chases you. You turn again, but the storm adjusts. Over and over you play this out, like some ominous dance with death just before dawn. Why? Because this storm isn't something that blew in from far away, something that has nothing to do with you. This storm is you. Something inside of you. So all you can do is give in to it, step right inside the storm, closing your eyes and plugging up your ears so the sand doesn't get in, and walk through it, step by step. There's no sun there, no moon, no direction, no sense of time. Just fine white sand swirling up into the sky like pulverized bones. That's the kind of sandstorm you need to imagine.

An you really will have to make it through that violent, metaphysical, symbolic storm. No matter how metaphysical or symbolic it might be, make no mistake about it: it will cut through flesh like a thousand razor blades. People will bleed there, and you will bleed too. Hot, red blood. You'll catch that blood in your hands, your own blood and the blood of others.

And once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what this storm's all about.

The moment of epiphany, that slice of time when you stand on the brink of a new life is one of the most magical, terrifying, most intoxicating experiences there is. It is especially so when, on some basic, primal level, you realize that the new world in front of you is somehow the place you were meant to be all along. For a little while, all you can do is gape in wonder. And then, if you are very brave, or very foolish, you take your first step. And at some point you realize -- maybe then, maybe later -- that the person who stepped through the doorway isn't the same person who emerged on the other side.

It's the Longing that ultimately undoes you. When it finds you, it gnaws at your bones and tugs at your chest. It fills you up inside like rot and makes you dream dreams and it drowns you. The Longing keeps you in bed, clutching at your sheets while the world goes on outside. It smells like old leaves and cigarette smoke, mixed with the scents of far-off places you will hear of, but never see. It's the gloss on a lover's lips the moment you realize you will never kiss those lips again. It is the bittersweet, unrequited love of creation and it will break your heart again and again and again.

If you know the Longing the way I do, then these words are redundant. We understand each other perfectly, you and I. And if you've never felt it - well, there's no point explaining. You can count yourself lucky - sweetly, stupidly lucky.
PERSONALITY.
At first you would think that Dren is shy, but as soon as you get to know her you will find out that is far from what she really is. Dren loves to talk to people, to make friends and to simply make sure the people she's around feels good. Think Heart of Gold. But when it comes to dating she get's a little spooked and some how finds away out of it, never letting anything progress to anything serious. The girl simply loves to design clothes and even has two very successful clothing lines. Rebel Spirit and Fancy Dresses, both are growing very quickly.
HISTORY.
Dren has never known her real parents. Her father died before she was even born while her mother passed away giving birth to her. But luck was on her side that very same day because there just so happened to be a couple looking to adopt after some bad news of their own. Mallory and David Bayer had laid eyes on the small bundle and instantly fell in love with her, so Dren became a Bayer and had a family. A few years later a surprise happened and then 9 months later Mallory gave birth to Ashley. The two girls instantly bonded and in no time there was no keeping them apart, even to this day.

But while they were growing up their father changed in to a monster that tried to abuse his children and his wife. Ashley surprised everyone when she stood up to him when he went to strike Dren for spilling a glass of water on the carpet. Needless to say while they were growing up, Ashley was more of the troubled daughter while Dren liked to keep to herself and draw clothes for her barbies.

While she was in Paris working on her clothing, she had met this guy whom was just the sweetest man she had ever met, and his eyes were the first thing she had noticed. The two of them at the time weren't looking for anything serious, so they had one wild fling. Sadly all things must come to an end. After kissing him one last time, she left to head back home to her sister. Little did she know, the man that she had the time of her life with, lived in the same state, and town. Will they make it to being an actual couple, or will things fall apart? Only time will tell in this fairy tale. Though with her record of not having a good record with relationships, she isn't going to be holding her breath.

Good thing she didn't! They didn't even last more than a month together. Turns out the man was simply wanting her because of the way she looked and how confident she was with everything she did. But now it's time for her to head back home to Texas, where she knows that men aren't exactly that stupid as they seemed to of been in Paris. But since she's been gone for so long, Dren worries that the life she had at home won't be like she remembered. A lot can change in almost ten years, not to mention people as well.
