| The Valenti's are the founding family of the city of Los Angeles. Having been under the radar as vampires for many centuries. They established their clan in the year 1650 in Florence, Italy, and are no way blood related. The Valenti Clan traversed to the states 1760, just before the California exploratory expeditions in 1769 by the Spanish, Irish and other such immigrants began. They immediately began their control over the town since day one. Using their powers to their advantage. They killed for blood, stole, used humans as slaves, and set the first list of laws in the city. As time went on and the population grew, they would begin not only compelling humans with their mind control, but turning them into one of their own as well to keep their numbers. In 1789, a moving family of Irish gypsies settled in on the town, creating a damper on the Valenti's siege for power. These were not your everyday travelers, and they too kept a secret of a different kind. They were known as the Callaghans, and they were werewolves. They formed an alliance to protect each other's secrets and live in harmony, but this, would soon be broken. One of the younger Callaghans accidentally bit two of the Valenti clan members under influence of the full moon. It seemed they were destined to be enemies as nature had always intended. The two families have fought for power over Los Angeles since the attack and they are constantly getting in each other's way. Presently, the members of the Valenti clan each wear a special, enchanted ring or necklace which allows them to walk in the sunlight. The Patriarch also has the mayor of Los Angeles and executives under the influence of his compulsion. The Valenti hold power over the media, drug trafficking, nightlife, and town politics.

The Callaghans are a line of werewolves dating back to to 1789 or earlier. The lycanthrope disease has been passed on from generation to generation. All members are blood related and carry it in their genes, and when in form, their saliva. The Callaghans are decedents of Irish travelers, gypsies, if you will. They have always traveled and lived together in a pack, never alone. At some point, the Callaghans migrated from Dublin, Ireland to New York, and from New York, to Los Angeles after the potato famine. They were Constantly on the move. No one had ever managed to find out what it was that they were, or why they traveled as they did in a commune. They went where the vampires went, being their source of favorite hunt, scarcely feeding on humans on nights of the full moon; if they could help it (unfortunately, there is no real control). When the Callaghans reached LA, they were in for a surprise, learning that the city was riddled and ran by vampires. Since werewolves and vampires were always natural, sworn enemies, they did their best to coincide with them. they decided to try and get a piece of the pie, try to run parts of the city as they saw it only fair since the families knew each other's secrets. They even went as far as making a treaty with the vampires; which was accidentally broken by a young Callaghan family member. In return the valenti clan killed two Callaghans. After that it was all downhill from there. the Valenti clan threatened the werewolves' existence, threatened to bring them to light, and even make them extinct! And so, they would go on fighting. During their tiff with the Valentis they managed to make secret allies with a family of vampire hunters, and for decades to come they would try to work together to stop the Valenti clan and it's soldiers. This family has some power over media, owning one popular news channel, and they have people working for them under wraps in the police force. They also own a single, Vampire free, Irish pub and a popular upper class restaurant. | THE HUNT FAMILY |

Having been hunting vampires since the early 1700s, the hunt family originally hails from Germany. They have always been a secretive family when it came to their business. They started off hunting both werewolves and vampires, but because one of their family members fell in love with a werewolf it opened their eyes to the truths about them. It was then, that they ceased hunting them. The story was a tragic romeo and juliet story, where both ended up dead due to their "undying" love for each other. They migrated to the united states in 1786, and reached the growing city of Los Angeles in 1990; having heard rumors of unexplained deaths plaguing the townsfolk there. Eventually, the Callaghans caught wind of a Hunt family member seeking out Vampires in a nearby forest, and the two families began to work together. Still, the hunt family's secret was kept safe, and still is until this day. They were often involved in the politics of the town, to try and have a say over how the city was ran. Trying constantly to save corrupt mayors and their cabinet members from mind control. During these times, they created a special drug which would be sold underground to those who sought it out. This drug was called 'Veneer', and helped to block any mental attacks on a human. Veneer, or V, was made up of a mixture of aspen ash, along with it's leaves. In popular folklore Jesus Christ was nailed to an aspen tree. In testing the theory of the tree's natural properties they proved it to be a supernatural blocker. They also found that wearing charms made of aspen wood worked just as well, and began selling beaded bracelets and necklaces made of such wood to travelers and settlers. The Hunts were also the family that figured out silver was not a weakness to werewolves, but an aid to their healing and power instead. Their teachings of vampires and how to kill, fight and repel them have been passed down from generation to generation through journals and has become a responsibility and tradition amongst it's future family members. Working along side with the werewolves in secrecy and getting involved with Los Angeles politics, they still hunt vampires on a day to day basis. The Hunt family keeps a watchful eye on the nightlife. They try desperately to save the lives that cross paths and are changed by vampires. If they manage to save a human from an attack, they try to politely educate them in their ways. They also willingly live information to those who seek help.
