Biography: Althea Charity Hayes was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her parents, Eric and Janet Hayes were both in the entertainment industry. Her father, a producer. Her mother wrote screenplays. "The way I see it, I was almost destined to become an actress. My father would take me to different movie sets, it all seemed so glamorous" Althea says about growing up in the hollywood scene.

Althea got her start on the Disney show The New Mickey Mouse Club. She joined the cast in 1993 when she was just 13 years old. The show mainly consisted of skits and performances. The cast members would act in comedy skits as well as sing and perform in front of a live audience. "I got to meet a lot of wonderful people on the show. We were like a huge family" She says. "The tours were a lot of fun, People often say they're surprised I didn't continue singing, but acting was always my first passion, and maybe I'm a little too old to get into the music business now." The show was eventually cancelled in 1995 and everyone went off in their own way. Althea says it was devestating for her to leave her friends and leave a life she had known for 2 years. "It was very sad. There was a lot of crying, a lot of 'we'll stay in touch'" Althea remembers.

The cancelation of the show didn't stop her on her road to success though. During her time on The Mickey Mouse Club she had worked on a couple movies and continued to do so. "I wasn't going to let it get me down. Being on that show just cemented the desire in me. I knew what I wanted and I was going to do it." and she didn't give up. Now she's one of the biggest names in Hollywood, Althea is definitely a name no one will forget anytime soon.

Now-a-days she's still working on films and has a role on the hit crime drama Criminal Minds. She also gave birth to her first son, Riley, early last year. "He's the love of my life, and the reason I'm living. Everything I do now is for him, he's always first on my mind."
