When Hayden's parents met each other for the first time, it was during a trip to Canada, both of them there for business which then turned into pleasure for the two youngsters. Damien Grant was an up and coming actor; he snatched up a leading role and was working on a huge film when he met Alexandra Elliot, a model playing as an extra in what was promised to be a blockbuster hit that would shoot Damien right to the top; making him a star. Damien fell quick for Alexandra who didn't seem to be interested at first and played hard to get, informing the man that she didn't date actors but he didn't give up so easily.
It wasn't until after they were done filming that Alexandra finally gave into the man. Six very long months spending time with him and getting to know real Damien, not the actor, she couldn't help but fall for him. As soon as the two found themselves to be on the same page with each other, they were spotted everywhere together and denied to the public that they were in any sort of relationship. The couple wanted to keep things under wraps but that only became a lot tougher once the movie hit theatres and Damien became an instant star over night.
It only took a few months after the movie premiered for Damien to ask for Alexandras hand in marriage. It was the greatest mistake Damien would make of his life; being young, good looking, among other things, he would find out she wasn't worth it in the end. The two married in Hawaii while on vacation and it was small ceremony, only very few people knew about it such as close friends and family who flew out to see the couple marry. The newlyweds seemed to be the happiest people on earth. Damien went on to do bigger leading roles and Alexandra continued to travel around the world modeling for only the finest people in the industry. They shared a home in San Francisco, California where Damien was originally from and also had a place in the UK, where Alexandra grew up.
Everything seemed to be completely blissful at a moment of their lives. That was until Alexandra found out she was pregnant while in Italy. This was their turning point because both were so wrapped up in their work, they were far too busy to even think of having kids at that point in their lives. The both of them were against having an abortion and giving it away. They were wealthy enough to take care of this baby. It hit every news stands fast; they were on every other magazine cover and they could only deny these rumors up until Alexandra began to show.
Hayden Ryan Grant was born in San Francisco, California on July 14th, 1988. Both Alexandra and Damien asked for the public to respect their privacy as the couple and their families welcomed their first and would be their only son, together. It didn't take long for the couple to pop up on the cover of another magazine, back in the public eye and with their son. Damien went right back to working while Alexandra chose to take some time off to take care of baby Hayden. She wasn't too happy when Damien suggested they hire a full-time nanny to watch after their son just so Alexandra could get back into her work.
The couple began to argue, fighting with each other on how they go about raising their child. Alexandra was a fairly private person. Especially when it came to her personal life and she didn't want their son growing up a brat or in the same industry for that matter. Whereas Damien, a proud father, wanted him to follow in his footsteps. Alexandra imagined him living a pretty normal life, as normal as it got for them at least. Raising Hayden was rather difficult though. Alexandra struggled most with and this would be the reason behind her marriage failing with Damien.
Growing up and going to a public school, students would pick on him because they thought the teachers were giving him the special treatment because of who his parents were. He didn't make friends easily and this started at the early age of seven, which he would always struggle with. At this tender age, Hayden would go home and vent to his mother. He would ask why they were doing and saying such things? Why didn't he have friends like the others kids? Alexandra worried about her baby and took immediate action by making the decision to home-school him.
Damien wasn't too happy about the decision Alexandra had made without discussing it with him first. This only caused more tension to build up between the couple. It even took them a step further into divorce when she found out that he was sleeping with other women but instead of causing chaos on his side, she chose to keep everything under wraps and move out of their California home and into Seattle, Washington. What was in Seattle? Not a single thing. No family or friends. She just knew it was quiet, it was somewhere no one would find her and her son, Hayden. It was the last place anyone would suspect her to be; she was finally alone and at peace.
Hayden had a led a private life with his mother, Alexandra, for the most part. He had grown into a life not necessarily knowing much of who his father was although after few years split from each other, Damien had visited many times but still to this day Hayden denies knowing his father. His father was an actor, a good one at that, and even ten year old Hayden could tell when his father was lying. When Hayden turned twelve, Alexandra decided it was best for him to attend public school while she went back into the modeling and acting business.
By age thirteen, Hayden had found out a way to deal with the kids at school and now having many friends. He kept to himself most of the time but that was his comfort zone he learned to cope with when it came to him being home-schooled for so long. During those years of being home-schooled, his mom raised him to have thick skin, not allowing things to penetrate his heart or mind. She told him about the lifestyle they were living and would come with a price; always having cameras in their faces and people wanting to get to know their personal lives in detail.
At the tender age of seventeen, Hayden realized just how much his life was being watched by the public. It was at times nerve wrecking for the guy but he went about his life as if the cameras weren't there. In high school things changed for him. He found himself traveling from state to state, country to country, with his mom and then his father the next day. The airport became his greatest enemy but he always kept to his composure. Never allowing anyone to see him break. That was the case until he dated an actress named, Justine Kyler, who had worked alongside his father Damien as the female leading role in his dads latest movie.
The two dated for a few months and to Hayden, it felt like his love life was out in the open for everyone to see, watching every step, every level the two leaped. The relationship didn't last for very long though, sadly. The breakup had really taken a toll on the guy. He was devastated and everyone witnessed as Hayden struggled with the breakup. He was spotted out and about with his friends, rumors spread that he was on drugs, some even saying he was numbing himself with alcohol over Justine Kyler. No one was sure if the paparazzi news were accurate or faulty and Hayden wasn't going to give them any information about anything.
Just as Hayden thought he had enough with women in the industry, he found himself in another much-publicized hookup with Nicole Trent, a socialite like himself. They had known each other for a while before making it official. It was through their parents that they found themselves in love with one another. Almost a graduate and he was sure he had found the one but just before his eighteenth birthday bash, news hit the airwaves that Nicole had been seen out with someone else. While this was true, she tried to cover it up and deny all rumors. Hayden and Nicole had been at an after party when they got into a huge fight, allowing for everyone to see.
At that point, Hayden didn't care much about who saw or listened in; it was a very publicized break up. Nicole went viral and explained what had happened, accusing Hayden of cheating a dozen times and many other things such as drinking and admitted to seeing Hayden abusing drugs first hand. Although all of this was untrue, Hayden kept to himself as usual. After a few months of letting the breakup and rumors die down, the young man graduated from Ballard High School and went right into college, wasting no time at all with deciding what he wanted to do in the future.
Just before Hayden could finish school, after thinking and talking with his family and manager, he decided he wanted to make the solid move into acting. The first role he took on was Jack Jansen in Paperboy, which he played alongside Matthew Mcconaughey, Nicole Kidman, and John Cusack. After the movie premiere, Hayden got a lot of great feedback, many saying that he has his father's passion and talent, and had hopes that he keeps going in the same direction. Just before Hayden could sit down and relax, his people presented him with two more movie scripts, which he eventually took on without second thought.
Going from city to city, across seas, and other beautiful destinations to film, he lost contact with many of his friends back in Seattle. He couldn't worry much about that at the moment; he had to focus on business and getting work down. After his first big film, he went on to play Dean Whipple in At Any Price, as well as Dr. Charles 'Jim' Carrico in Parkland. Now that he has a break, he plans on reconnecting with his friends and relaxing, though with three scripts in his hands, he is determined to start living for him again and the way he wants without losing focus.
