Played By: Ryan Gosling. Birthdate & Age: March 19 1981. Screen name: pennedjonathan. Biography: Jonathan Porter White, which would later show as Jonathan Porter on his novels, was born in Seattle in 1981 to his parents Sharon White and Jeremy White. He was the second and last child born to the couple because they had decided that two boys were more than enough. Jonathan was born seven years after his brother, Bailey. The two weren't too close as they grew up, the age difference was a major factor, though the two got along, they just didn't play together as much when they were children. However, they talk regularly and get together at least once a month to spend some time together. Because of the lack of playtime as a child, especially as a toddler, Jonathan spent a lot of his time alone. Everyday when his parents would pick him up from the daycare, the teachers would always tell them how Jonathan mostly kept to himself and always drew the most creative pictures with the most creative stories to go with them. Jonathan knew that he wanted to be a writer when he was thirteen and wrote a love poem to Sarah in homeroom. The two dated before having a melodramatic break-up because Sarah said that Thomas was cute. The nerve. Luckily, Jonathan's parents always urged him to do what was best for him and emphasized following his heart. He graduated a year early from high school, and he immediately went into college, taking as many English classes as possible within a two year span. His first creative writing class, he wrote a character analysis of a character that would soon become Tristran in his second novel, and recently made into a movie, Stardust; however tragedy struck in 2000 when Jeremy White, Jonathan's father was killed in a car accident. The driver that caused the accident had been spending too much time paying attention to his cell phone rather than the road. This may have been later inspiration for Jonathan's most recent novel, American Gods, which is a science fiction piece about old gods (such as the god of war and the god of money) battling new gods (which are gods that we worship today such as the TV, cell phones, etc.). Despite this tragedy, Jonathan published his first novel almost a year later because Jonathan felt a sudden pressure that emphasized the short amount of time that we have on earth, and he wanted to spend it writing, and not in classes. By 2003, at the young age of 22, Jonathan had published 2 novels. But it wasn't always fun and games, he received several rejections before ever making a name for himself. Some of these rejections have been condensed into short stories and published in his 2007 book, Smoke and Mirrors. His books did not initially sell well until there was talk that Stardust was being picked up for a movie option and even then, it was the idea that A-list actors appearing might be appearing in the movie. The attention took Jonathan by surprise; he had always been more of a loaner. Thankfully, being a writer didn't require much publicity, but it was weird that magazines he had spent the past seven or eight years reading were now approaching him for interviews. Also, it doesn't help that Jonathan is an attractive male that gets attention (maybe not necessarily on a national level) with or without the status as a writer. He assisted with another screenwriter for both of his movies turned novels, Coraline and Stardust, and since early 2009, he's expressed an interest in screenwriting, though due to circumstances in White's personal life, there is a chance that his first screenwriting project may take longer than planned. At the premiere of the movie version of his book in early 2006 Stardust, Porter was spotted (having not walked the red carpet), wearing jeans and a graphic tee as he left the theater. On the set of Stardust in mid-2005. The two married in late 2009. Reports were that the couple was happy, but following the success of his most recent novel, Jonathan began work on another novel and supposedly an attempt at screenwriting and his wife was forced to be away for filming of one of her projects she is currently working on. After almost three years of marriage, the couple is filing for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences; however, the secretary, that up until recently worked for Jonathan Porter's editor, is making claims that the two were caught having an affair when his wife came home early from a shoot. The secretary also claims that the affair had been ongoing for almost three months and that Porter claimed that wanted to marry her and had even made plans to buy her a ring. Jonathan's representatives refuse to comment on anything, stating that it is a personal matter between Mr. and Mrs. White (though, it won't be Mr. and Mrs. White much longer). The truth is that Jonathan was stressed and feeling a lot of pressure from his career and the secretary was not supposed to go to the White household based on the contract that Jonathan and his editor signed when Jonathan agreed to switch editors in 2003. He had been attempting to write all day, but faced a horrible writer's block and had drank a few beers in order to help him relax, he hadn't actually seen his wife or really talked to her in days, maybe even weeks, the timing was horrible. The secretary, Tiffani, came to the apartment to drop off the revised chapters that Jonathan had planned to pick up the next day, but she was in the neighborhood. Honestly, Jonathan couldn't tell you exactly how it happened, but there they were on the couch when the lock on the front door clicked open and that's when Jonathan's marriage fell apart. He does still love his, and he's willing to give her everything that they owned in the divorce aside from their dog, Roxy, his Mustang, and the motorcycle. He feels guilty about what happened and is living in a state of shock at the moment, not to mention extreme guilt. Credits: Jonathan's works Other Stuff:
