Biography Early Life On November 5th, 1990, Jasmine Marie Salias was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Daniella Salias, who was a fashion designer turned stylist and Cory Salias, who is construction company owner, is the youngest of the two siblings. She ahs an older sister, Leilani, who is a famous singer in Austraila and also an assistant sytlist for their mother. At a young age, Jasmine wanted to be big and start acting and in school she was in drama club and always saying lines from films in the mirror and always singing, though she did have her moments of shyness, but that went away fast, as she starred in her 5th grade play of the Wizard of Oz playing Dorothy Gale, which was when she was, as her father says "discovered", by a Hollywood casting director and his wife, who was a director. Career It was really the young girl's big break, which at the time, she only landed a bunch of commericals until 2003 when director Catherine Hardwicke was casting for a film called Thirteen, the soon-to-be 14 year old actress went for it and was cast as Noel. The part was small, but it got her face out there. Her acting career started to take off in 2004 when she got the lead role in Catch That Kid about three kids who rob a bank to save the girl's father. "It was fun to actually do stunt work." Jasmine had said in a interview with Entertainment Weekly and when she and her co-stars appeared on the cover, it was proof that this youngster was truely making her name in Hollywood. In 2005, the 15 year old was cast in the film based on a book, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, as she was the youngest in the cast, she was working with first time actors and unknowns, which would change. While promoting 'Sisterhood', she was also asked about her weigh gain for the role of Carmen and she had laughed and said, "I ate McDonalds, Taco Bell, and a lot of junk food, but after filming I started working it off and went back to being a toothpick." As there had ben no word if they'd be making a second 'Sisterhood' film, the youngest Salias was going to continue taking jobs, which she did, as she in Bring It On: All or Nothing, playing Leti, which had the 16 year old learning Spanish, which didn't take very long. As she was both an actress, she was still in school, which she had a private tutor and when she wasn't acting, she'd be in an actual school, though getting asked for autographs, she wouldn't be stuck-up or anything nad she'd sign for her fans and even her friends. Also in 2006, the Disney Channel had seen some of when she'd done and the teenager was casted for a four episode stint on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, but it was then that she had realized she wanted to be taken more seriously in the acting world and not just a kid star or teen star. Entering 2007, the 17 year old actress was also in high school and knew all about how guys played multiple girls and with that, she auditioned for the role of Beth in John Tucker Must Die, which was a more mature role for her, which was got after three different call backs. It was a very mature role for her and she got to explore a different side to herself. The same year, the high school senior, would be joining the Disney Channel series, Wizards of Waverly Place, playing on of the main characters, Alex Russo, a young witch in training. It was something that she was really looking forward to doing. During the filming of season One, she graduated high school after the second semester due to having the best marks, though it was due to having a private tutor who knew what they were actually doing. As she got ready to film season two of 'Wizards', her new agent, Melissa Weinberg had given her a script to audition for a role in the book turned film, Twilight, but after auditioning for the roles of Bella and Alice, the casting director said that she wasn't what they were looking for and that she should try again when there are roles the fit her better. She also agreed with them and went on to continue with her acting career. She knew that they wanted different girls for those roles, but it didn’t make her discouraged or anything of the sort, as she knew that life went on and she’d just do other things until she found a great role for her to pick up besides the one she had on Wizards of Waverly Place.. As 2009 rolled around, she was a guest host on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve and she was helping out to promote her sister's singing career. Jasmine returned for the second installment of the 'Sisterhood' films, where she teamed up with her close friends again and she was excited to be back on set and she was just a bubbly spirit on the set and was always singing and bouncing around to be happy and this time around she added an extra 15 pounds for her role as Carmen again. As season 2 of Wizards was getting close to wrapping, it was only time for the TV series to turn into a TV movie, which after she filmed the second 'Sisterhood' film, it was right to filming Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. While filming the movie of the hit TV show, it was green lit for a three season. It wasn't long before things would get a bit crazier for this 18 year old. After the many rumors began to pop up on the web and everywhere, they became true, as Jasmine was joining the Twilight Saga: Eclipse as the only female werewolf, Leah Clearwater. She had auditioned in secret during the end of filming Wizards the movie and got cast. As the now 19 year old joins the franchise, she was also cast in 2011's Beastly and it was announced that she'd be appearing in 2012's 4.3.2.1, which goes to show that there is more to come from this young actress. Personal Life Jasmine currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her mother when she's not filming on location. She graduated high school with honors, but hasn't decided to go to college just yet, as she's busy with her acting career. She visits her father in Honolulu and visit family on major holidays. Currently, she's single and not really looking for any relationships, but she thinks being in one would be great one day.
