Biography: Isobel Leigh Powell was born Isobel Leigh Jensen on October 15th, 1977 in a small rural town in Massachusetts. She had a relatively normal childhood, coming from a very big family. She has four older brothers, Kevin, Paul, Michael, and Christian with ages ranging from 33-39, and one little sister, Emily who is 28 now. Her parents Jason and Carolyn Jensen raised their children in a large farmhouse. They all had daily chores and the like, and were a very close family, everyone helped one another.
Izzie was always considered to be the heart of her family. She was always the sensible one, the reasonable one, the dove in a family of vultures. Her brothers have always been considered to be hotheaded, rash, and impulsive, but Izzie was never like that. She was the mediator of her crazy family. Sometimes they would get in some epic brawls but she was always there to pick up the pieces and make sure that everything was okay again, this would help her later in life as well.
Ever since Izzie was a little girl, she'd dreamt of becoming an actress and participated in many roles in the community theater in her home town and garnished some recognition for an outstanding performance as Juliet Capulet in a local play that was attended by her uncle Charles who knew a lot of talent agents in Los Angeles because he had once dreamt of becoming an actor as well. He got in touch with the right people and a big hot shot agent came out to see the final showing of the play and was blown away by 15 year old Izzie's outstanding performance.
Chris Mailman, the talent agent, offered to take Izzie to Los Angeles to audition for some roles, but the Jensen family was very concerned about her schooling, it was very important to the family for Izzie to be successful in something else, she could have been a doctor or something. But Izzie desperately wanted to go to Hollywood and be a big star, it was something she'd dreamt of for so long. It was hard to leave home, one of the hardest things she'd ever done in her life, but it was a decision that would change young Isobel Jensen's life forever.
After landing a few nonspeaking extra roles in some low budget movies, she got the part of Sam on a nickelodeon television show called "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" This was a role that she kept until the show ended in 1996, when she landed probably her breaking role as Willow Rosenberg on the hit television show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." This was role that would lead her to eventual super stardom. While starring as Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she also managed to find time to play the much coveted role of Rose Dewitt-Bukater in the Blockbuster smash hit Titanic. It was this role that made Isobel Jensen a household name.
In 1999, she got the part of Jillian Armacost in "The Astronaut's Wife" and that is where she met her future husband Adrian. Sparks flew nearly instantly for them, though Isobel tried to deny her feelings for some time because she wasn't sure what her family would think or if she would be able to manage a real relationship with her career. She'd had terrible luck with it in the past. But the two couldn't stay away from each other and married in 2001.
After Buffy's end in 2003, Isobel was cast as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies in Finding Neverland. This was a very big role for her and she enjoyed doing it. The film got a lot of attention and won several awards. Isobel considers it to be one of the best roles that she has done so far. She was then cast as Andie in "How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days" and was well on her way to becoming Hollywood's sweetheart.
The Powells were blessed with a daughter in 2005 which was a very big year for Adrian with his role as Batman in Batman Begins. The couple got a lot of attention that year. She decided to take some time off and to work on raising their daughter as she had always been a big believer in family values, but in 2008 she was back on the scene playing Sadie in the Beatles musical Across the Universe. She's got some upcoming roles too to keep her busy, she's been cast as the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland and as Holly in "P.S. I Love You." It looks like things are going to be very busy for Mrs. Powell for a long time yet.
