BELVERDERE ASYLUM
Front of Belverdere Asylum
The framed Belverdere Asylum has fallen in a state of disrepair over the past thirty six years and it shows. In the front of the building there is a overgrown parking lot with a few abandoned and rusty cars.
Back of Belverdere Asylum
Behind the asylum is an over grown garden thick with weeds and a small murky pond. Underneath the weeds a few sun bleached bones can be found.
Lobby
On the main floor of the Asylum, this is where the main entrance and front desk are located. The windows and doors here are locked and there is a large tv screen there are plays a continuous welcome message from Nurse Belverdere.
Staff Lounge
A run down room filled with chairs, tables, a refrigerator and blood stains. This was the site of a particularly brutal murder of a nurse and is often the site of poltergeist activities.
TV Room
This room has some dust covered couches and a old-fashioned tv that still gets a signal and is the only connection to the outside world. Also has some old board games for the patients to occupy their time with.
Hallways
The corridors on the first, second, third and fourth floor are just as decrepit as the rest of the building. Don't be surprised if there are rats or small animals lurking in the dark corners.
Cafeteria
This is the only place the characters can find fresh food, outside of hunting in the woods or eating plants. The walk in freezer is always well stocked but does have a nasty surprise in the back. It is also one of the few clean, well kept places in the asylum..
Bathrooms
There are restrooms on the second and fourth floor. The ones on the second are simple public bathrooms but there are working showers on the fourth floor. The water's not always hot but it is always clean.
Surgery rooms
A gruesome site, the three surgery rooms each had murders committed in them. Blood stains still remain although the bodies are long gone. Sharp instruments found here could make for possible weapons.
Examination rooms
There are five examination rooms located on the third floor that contain files from past patients and on the history of the asylum. Some rooms are in worse shape than others. There is some ghost activity here.
Chapel
A discreet place of worship with stain glass, statues, a ton of dust and a great view overlooking the town. Bibles and holy water can be found here.
Offices
Some of the more important staff such as the administrators and doctors had offices on the third floor. The offices contain files, documents, office supplies and the odd bottle of alcohol hidden in the desk.
Hospital rooms
The fourth floor offers patients a place to sleep, use the bathroom, a lounge, and showers. The loung is in good shape but the rest are not in the cleanest condition and some rooms have blood stains but everything still works.
Morgue
In the basement of the asylum there are a few creepy rooms, one of which is the morgue. There are a couple of skeletons in the lockers and a few surprises in the shadows.
Cellar
Bad things happened in the cellar but don't bad things always happen in the cellars featured in horror movies. There are no bodies but there are occasionally ghosts and signs of the supernatural. There's also a secret trap door that is currently locked.
Furnace room
If the characters can get this old dusty piece of junk working they might get some heat in the asylum. Like the cellar it's also spooky and has a hidden & locked trap door.
Laundry room
One of the last renovations before the asylum closed was the new laundry room. It is still fully functional and is stocked with detergent. Why? Perhaps the nurse believed cleanliness is close to godliness?
Showers
Another fully functional feature of the asylum is the shower room where characters can go to clean up after a hard day and get all that blood and grime off.
BEDLAM ISLAND LOCATIONS
Abandoned Houses
These house use to hold the citizens of Bedlam Island until they abandoned their homes. A bit weather battened, some houses are in better condition than others. Any food found here will be rotten or gone bad. Some have electricity & water, some don't.
Public Library exterior
The doors here are locked but easily broken into and overall the outside of the library is in better condition than most of the buildings. For one thing, the windows are mostly intact.
Public Library interior
The inside of the library is filled with bookson many subjects, old fashioned furniture and plenty of dust. There is no electricity or water at the moment.
School house exterior
This is a one story building that is surrounded by a cast iron fence. Like the library it is in better condition than the houses and the doors are locked. It is easy to break into.
School house interior
The interior of the school is filled with supplies, furniture, dust and rats. However, there is no food, electricity or water.
Public Wharf
A fishing wharf that has abandoned boats and gear for the taking. If you want some fresh fish this is the place to start and you could even try sailing away from the cursed island. You won't get far but you can try.
Beaches
Beaches outline the edges of the island, a mixture of sand and rocky shores. Anyone who attempts to escape via a boat may find themselves washed up here.
Forest
The forest covers most areas on the island surrounding the village and the asylum and up the mountain in the center of the island. Aside from the asylum it's the only other place that has any living creatures. Namely deer, the odd bear, tons of birds, squirrels and more.
>
Power Plant
The power plant supplies the entire town with power and holds a few secrets of its own. It turns out the hospital wasn't the only place that had a massacre happen but whatever killed the people in the plant was supernatural and reduced them all to skeletons.....which will come to life and attack if they're disturbed.
General Store
Just a little bit away from the asylum, the general store is has electricity and water. It is surprisingly in decent condition too. Unlike the school or library, the doors are open here.
General Store Inside
The general store is full of useful items. Any fresh food there is rotten but there is can food that is still good. Simple and old weapons can be found here.
>
Church
An abandoned church near the power plant and graveyard. Doors are unlocked and most windows are boarded up. There are a few abandoned cars around here but none of them work.
Church Interior
The old church was a refuge back in the seventies but like the asylum it has fallen in disrepair. Old bibles and cruifixes can be found here. There is water but no electricity.
Graveyard
Leads into the forest and is filled with graves for the townspeople and the former patients. Has a lot of ghost activity and a few nasty surprises.
Cabins
There are several abandoned cabins in the forest covering the island. They are great for shelter when residents end up too far into the forest and they have a ton of canned and pickled food that is still edible but there is no electricity. There are wells near by for water and beware the basements in the cabins.
The bar interior
The Bar, or Pashnka’s bar, is on a hill which overlooks the entire town. The house formerly belonged to one of the asylum’s higher ranking doctors, and as such, it’s massive and grand. The furniture within is in excellent shape aside from signs of age. Pasha does his best to keep the main area clean. Patrons are welcome to pass out wherever they’d like on the main floor, should they drink a bit too much, but Pashenka has taken the upstairs for his own quarters. He also uses the second floor for storage.”.
Willie's shop exterior
On the outside you could mistake this for any other abandoned building but it is the home and business of Willie Moran. A survivor, a hermit, and a warlock who is willing to get you want you need for the right price.
Willie's shop interior
The inside of Willie's shop is a lot nicer than the outside and full of interesting objects. Willie does serve food but also requires payment. It can be anything, money, trinkets, weapons, favors, etc. If you're looking to buy something special Willie might just be able to help you. Willie lives upstairs but residents are welcomed to come into the lower level (main floor) any time. Just ring the bell on the counter if you need assistance.
Belverdere Manor exterior
The family home of the Belverdere family that was built when the island was settled. Yes, it is where Elizabeth Belverdere lives but she spends most of her time in the hospital so it is possible to sneak in but watch out if she catches you!
Belverdere Manor interior
Inside the Belverdere family home is quite well kept and even cozy, surprisingly. It would be a great place to spend the night if Elizabeth Belverdere didn't live there. Anyone who goes inside will find there are lots of magical books and artifacts but good luck getting out.
