Biography: Jillian Louise Simpkin was born of humble beginnings, to a hobby shop owner and his doula wife, in Stamford, CT. Her father owned a store which specialized in parts for miniature scale models, and her earliest memories were of watching her father craft a giant pink dollhouse which has since been passed on to her own daughter. From an early age, it was clear that Jilly had a keen eye for people, able to relate to their problems and listen to them with both empathy and compassion. It was one of many skills which made her a good actress and even in elementary school, doing local children's theatre and school plays, it was clear she could act with a natural rhythm and flow that was absent in her peers. In her spare time, Jilly enjoyed writing short stories and 'comedy routines' which she performed for her family and friends.

After high school, she attended college at USC, where she flourished in the drama department. Throughout her college career, Jilly was cast in bit parts and commercials, often appearing as an extra on TV shows that shot on the USC campus. She did theatre in LA and was often cast in student films, having a few successful runs at film festivals in California. Her big break came when she was 25, being cast as companion Inara Serra in the so-called 'space western', Firefly. The television show was the new project of a successful TV producer with a rampant fan following and though the series was cancelled prematurely, it set Jilly's career in stone; she was praised for bringing heart, soul, and depth to a character that could've easily been written off as a simple space hooker. It was this part that led to an audition for another show on the same network the next fall, Arrested Development. She was cast as spoiled heiress Lindsay Bluth, and became a fan favorite on the critically acclaimed but little seen sitcom. It lasted three seasons. During hiatus from AD, Jilly settled in the California desert to film Wristcutters: A Love Story. It was on this set that she met Trent Goldstein, whom she would date for several years. She became pregnant in early 2006 and on January 31st of that year, she gave birth to her first daughter, Unicorn Allegheny Simpkin-Goldstein. The couple split six month later due to Trent's emotional irresponsibility and his lack of commitment to both the relationship and their daughter. Jilly can now be seen playing Lily Aldrin on the hit CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.

Other stuff: PST. I'm on almost all night, and most of the day, too, save for when I sleep because I work from home. I very rarely thread; I have a lot of trouble keeping up with them and would rather write over AIM. I don't do one liners, but I also will not write 500+ word poses every single time; it sucks the fun out of writing for me, and prefer a good, fat, fleshed out paragraph that gives insight but also moves a scene along. I'm up for random IMs but will need advance warning if you want to scene. OOC plotting is always fine by me, and can be done via AIM. :]
