New Character!
Hey guys! This is Mark with my second character, a Beauregard senior named Malachi Ryder. Mal is a tall, lanky, tough looking guy, who is, for the most part, a good-natured person. What you see is what you get. However, he has a few things working against him: a great-grandfather who was a dark wizard, blackening the family reputation, and unresolved anger issues from his father’s murder, when Mal was six years old. These things thrust upon him an unwanted ‘bad boy’ image, that seems to be self-perpetuating; any questions about his family can cause a violent reaction. He has also started to abuse alcohol to ‘take the edge off’.

Malachi is a Quodpot player, an artist and an excellent cook (he has a passion for cooking-it calms him when his temper gets the best of him). He prefers to have one steady girl, but his last steady girl left him because of his family shame (the great-grandfather); her family demanded she leave him. Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tries, Mal’s tendency to solve problems with his fists, his quick temper, when his family is involved, and his excessive partying are making it almost impossible for him to shake his ‘bad boy’ image.

Malachi loves Girls, His friends, His family, Cooking, Cooking shows, Art, Art museums, Quodpot, Being in Control, Organization, Parties, Beer, Men’s grunge jewelry, Nascar, Muggle Football, Action Movies, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Metallica, Divination, Magic

He hates Authority figures, Smart asses, No-alcohol parties, cheap/nasty-tasting food, Poseurs, Guns, Loss of Control, Losing (Quodpot or whatever game he’s watching), Having his good time ruined, Being corrected, Muzak, Being pegged as a ‘Bad Boy’.

He has a few quirks…
-Freaks at loud explosive noises (like weapon-fire).
-Has a foul mouth with his contemporaries, but can control it with adults.
-He loves his beer and will drink during a party until he’s numb, but he loathes drugs, because it was drug dealers that killed his father during a drive-by shooting when he was 6 yrs old.

Hey! We've talked about Sim and Malachi getting along and also since he likes parties him and Charlie probably know one another!

As for my girls, Ella is in the same house and is pretty much friends with everyone, Mari probably thinkshe's hot but would definitely be spreading bad boy rumors about him haha and Frankie wouldn't have a problem with him! :D

Mal would definitely get on with Charlie and Sim and I can see him liking Ella. Now, he would think Mari was a cute little thing until he heard she was spreading rumors about him! LOL! Then he'd think she was a devilchild! Frankie seems like she would get on with him just fine, mostly in his sober state, I'd think.

Ella is also a Beau cheerleader so they probably spend some time together at matches and stuff!

Frankie is pretty wild at the moment too, kind of binging and partying so theyve probably seen each other around!

Hihi! So! As for my kiddums!

Sunny and Sam would definitely know him from Beauregard! Sunny is the Beau captain and Sam is a cheerleader. Sunny and Mal I think would get along, she tends to have violent reactions at times too >.>

Michi would know him from quodpot and probably thinks he's a sweetie pumpkin xD I'm not sure Meka, Apple, or Yevvy would know him but I'm totally up for random run ins!

I'm pretty sure that Mal would get on great with both Sunny and Sam because of their sport connection. He's really into Quodpot, both playing and watching. Same with Michi and Quodpot, even though she's on another team.

With Meka, Apple and Yevy, Mal would like them as long as they are nice and didn't piss him off (a-pry into his family history, b- insult his family or friends or c- explode something in his immediate vicinity. LOL)

For Colby here, I dunno if they'd know each other per se, but she probably thinks he's pretty cool.

Gael and him might be in some classes together and since they both play Quodpot I'm sure they're aware of each other. I dunno if they're friends, but Gael would certainly be pleasant if they ran into each other.

As for Alex, I doubt the two know each other much at all, being in completely different houses and grades.

I'm up for any kind of plotting or whatnot. :)

I think Mal would think sophomore Colby was adorable should they ever happen to meet.

I'm guessing they are probably in a few classes together and Mal would definitely know him through Quodpot. Knowing that Gael is a nice guy, Mal would be cool with him for sure.

LOL...not sure about Alex. I guess it all depends on what conditions Mal met the 9th grader under and how they clicked, y'know?

Gael's always nice! Unlike his brother, who's a bit of a bitch, most of the time. And yes, I checked and they DO have classes together!

Makes sense. Alex is a bit of a shit most of the time XD Though Mal being an older student may save him the brunt of his snarkitude.

Yes! Plot lines are so one of my favorite things! Colby's gonna have an open post up soon if you'd want to jump on that.

Leon is, well...resident asshole. XD I doubt he has anything in particular against Malachi....but I doubt they are friends, either. Just one of those things. Malachi might be among the group that could possibly remember Leon being a nicer guy, once upon a time.

Brain- Yeah, Brian would be a little "omg you are a senior" followed by "omg you are one of those evil, mean people" in his brain. Never allowed. He'd probably try to stay out of the way, because Brian is just like that.

Ginger- Probably knows him in a vague sense. Might have had a fling with him in the past? She's pretty much the 'anything to make me popular and people to like me' type, so...it is possible.

I think Mal probably does remember the old Leon and he probably understands him fairly well (LOL...not like Jake claims to understand him). Mal knows what it's like to have your private life invaded and people always whispering and asking questions. I think he gives Leon the space he needs.

I think Mal would be amused with Brian, if he knew him. Almost in a paternal way.

Oh yeah, Mal would know of Ginger. LOL! Besides...she's a cheerleader, for cryin out loud!

Ciaran...isn't overly fond of Mal, but he doesn't actively dislike him in the way that he dislikes Jake. He might think he's a bit of a douche, but that's about it. I think it's a case of one grumpy asshole staying out of another grumpy asshole's way for the sake of humanity type thing.


I know the creature hunt is going on right now/will be going on, but is Jake planning on speaking to C some time after that? I think it would be utter hilarity if they mixed. He's a bit more chilled out in my head now so he wouldn't be bringing his amp cords with him. ^^

Strangely enough, I think you've probaly summed up the way Mal would feel towards Ciaran too. he might think that the guy is a bit of an ass, but he wouldn't get on him about it or judge him; he'd just give the dude space and hope he'd do the same for him. He wouldn't believe any of the rumors or pass any gossip either...he hates that shit being done to him.

LOL...Jake IS a bit preoccupied with your boy right now. It would be hilarious for them to actually meet. Not sure if you've noticed, but Jake has tied him in with Emilie and Lisette as a sort of "Dark Forces rising" danger. Once he's met Ciaran, it might be funny for the three of thm to happen upon him somewhere. What do you think?

Ciaran would judge silently (Mal listens to Green Day and MCR, there is no way he can avoid judging him for that), but that would be it.

And I'm sure C's first stop after Jake would be Emilie. They...would definitely plot something against him, I think. Not sure how to get Lisette involved, but we can jump off that bridge when we reach it.

LOL...if Mal found out that Ciaran was judging him for that, he would laugh. Mal feels that music is a personal thing and anyone who judges others on their preferences is a pretentious asshole.

Yeah, Emilie already blew up a painting that Jake was working on. The only connection Lisette really has is in Jake's head: Ciaran=serial killer, Emilie=satanist, Lisette=voodoo queen and they are all dark to him and therefore probably in league.

C judges. Oh, does C judge. And if you're listening to Green Day? You DESERVE to be judged because they are whiny, punk-wannabe sellouts who are about as punk as the easter bunny.

I think it's because he thinks they're pretentious that he actually hates them, so...this topic of conversation should probably never come up between them or the world will end. :)

I'm sure there could be a way to inadvertantly form some sort of league of extraordinary bastards with Lisette, but we would have to see. Either way, C and E will most certainly be planning his downfall.

Yep, that's exactly the attitude that Mal would call C a pretentious asshole over. Mal doesn't like Opera, but he'd never be down on someone for liking it. Same goes for Gansta Rap or most Country, but he recognizes everyone's right to like what they like. He hates people who hold up their personal taste as the right way to think. Probably best that he and Ciaran don't discuss music, yes? ;)

No no no, that's not it. See, the other genres of music he doesn't like? C leaves alone. But Green Day...Green Day are trying to pass themselves off as punk and they AREN'T, and that is what gets to him. Therefore people who listen to these money-grabbing tryhards are just as deluded as the band themselves. It's all about the punk thing, not about the respecting genres thing. C doesn't think his personal taste is the right way to think (most of the time), but he thinks Green Day are posers, and bad ones at that.

I think he'd like to be the lovechild of Sid & Nancy. Saying 'but who cares' to C about whether Green Day are punk or not is sort of like kicking a bull in the bollocks. And it's not about the fanbase, it's about musical integrity.

It's an idiom. Means you might as well be caught doing something really bad rather than something just a bit bad if the overall outcome is going to be the same.

Well, I get what you are saying, but for Mal, it's like this...it's all fine being so involved in the music and everything, but let's use 'cars' for an example: Some people need to know everything about the car, all the parts, how it's put together...and then some people just want to drive...Mal just wants to listen to the music. He doesn't care about the politics or the integrity...it's music.

Rowan... may or may not know who he is outside of classes. Up to you! I don't see them having problems getting along, save for he's a 'bad boy' and she's a quiet girl 99% of the time.

Since they're not in the same house or year or in any clubs together, I don't think Amy'd know him too well.

However, my new character Kirsten [[info]mad_hatter] is in Beauregard (she's a sophomore) and would therefore know him. She'd be friendly, and being that he's attractive, older, and has that bad boy image, she'll probably have a crush on him. I'll be making an intro post for her soon.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

He probably wouldn't really know Tatum, different years/houses etc, nor enjoy being around her given that she basically spends 85% of the day stoned silly. I think he and Erica would probably get along, although she's a bit younger than he is. She likes older boys and she isn't afraid to let them know, lolllll. She also has major daddy issues, too!

Jenny is in the same house, and though I don't think they'd be super close, I think she thinks that he is nicer than people claim. She doesn't buy into that bad boy rep! Although he should calm down with the drinking. Numb is not good, gdi Mal.

Brody and he are, again, same house. She's just a year younger than him, and she plays on his quodpot team, so I expect they are probably good friends?? She likes a good party, loves to cook, and all that good stuff. I def think they'd get along well.

Hunter also probably thinks he's pretty cool. She also loves beer way to much, and despises the authority, all of that shit. I think they have a lot in common, and if you're down with it, they've probably hooked up at some point in the past. Because that is how she rolls.

He might not know Tatum and if he did, he'd avoid her, because he's a bit of a hypocrite about drugs, since he drinks heavily at parties and such (it's because his dad was killed by drug dealers).

As we discussed, Mal and Chuck are good friends. Probably she has a crush on him. Same house, same year, BFFs!

We also talked about Molly and Mal. Not sure how they'd know each other unless it was from Quodpot, but even though she'd be wary of him she would be nice.

Lisette, my little introvert, will probably know Mal from their classes Freshman year before she skipped Sophomore year and had to repeat it. So he knew her when she was a little more open and friendly and knows she took a year off. I think they could be acquaintances, but Mal's the type of boy that scares Lisette, so she'd probably be pretty reserved, or more than usual.

Yeah, Mal and Chuck are buddies and share their passion for cooking! I think Mal might not realize Chuck is crushing and gets a little too close and personal sometimes, what do you think?

They would be aware of each other from Quodpot and Mal would try to curb his mouth around Molly, probably not always being successful.

I think Mal and Lisette would be cool with each from knowing each other Freshman year and Mal would think Lisette was pretty awesome with the whole Voodoo thing.

Keegan & Mal are in different years and houses, but they'd probably get along. They do share their music class as a common thing, plus some musical tastes, cooking (though it's much more of an interest for Mal), parties, etc. At the very least they're probably familiar party buddies?

Quinn & Mal share a couple of core senior classes so she'd at least know who Mal is. I don't honestly know how she'd react to him, so we can toss them together at some point and see?

Sibyl and Mal also share some classes together, but I doubt they're friends, being different in many ways and in different houses. She'd be plenty nice, though.

Casey shares Beauregard with Mal, but I doubt there'd be much else. He's a bit of a video gaming hermit and pretty new to the party scene, really. Kid doesn't get out much XD

Yeah, it seems as though Mal and Keegan have a lot in common. Both are party boys, both like the girls and both are no stranger to getting into hot water. (Plus those things you mentioned of course). I think it would be fair to say they would be party buddies. Oh yeah, don't forget, they would know each other from Quodpot.

I think they would know each other because of the shared classes and they might have a unique relationship because Quinn is a lesbian. Mal could enjoy just being himself and not worry about the guy/girl stuff with her.

Mal would find Sibyl interesting because she's cute and she plays Quidditch. He loves sports and follows Quidditch, even though he doesn't play it.

Yeah, not sure about Casey. If he ever saw him in the common room or anything, Mal would be nice to him.

Oh yes! Quodpot! So there may be some friendly joking on that being that they're on opposing teams, harmless really. Party buddies definitely.

That sounds like an interesting thing, yea. Quinn doesn't have much of any close friends, and even less male friends in general. I'm absolutely up for them having a relaxed friendship, being able to be real with each other.
