I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE EVEN ASKING ME ABOUT MY OOC INFO GOD GROW UP.

Nicole P. Nini
18 (19 in February), freshman
music therapy
juneau, alaska

1 :: actually, I'm not from Juneau. I'm from a town, like, a million miles from Juneau so my parents sent me to a private school in the capitol my senior year so that it looked at least slightly more impressive and at least recognizable for my college apps. Pretty slick, huh?

2 :: seriously, I love Alaska, but there aren't many opportunities out there. I wanted a small school, but my mom was all, "Woh woh wohwoh JOB woh wohwoh woh MONEY woh BIG SCHOOL" so I had to go to Allegro. Yeah, she sounds like a Peanuts adult.

3 :: my first instrument was the violin. Not gonna lie, I'm kind of kickass at it. See, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I don't have the right amount of collagen in my ligaments. It sounds like it should suck, but it doesn't. Cause see, when I play the violin, my finger joints can bend and stretch in wicked ways, so I'm all, "Oh hey upper octave, let me give you a stroke," and I can play all over the neck without moving my hand position too much. It's pretty sweet.

4 :: but I feel like I'm just done with the violin. To be more accurate, the world is done with the violin. It's a great instrument, and kudos to those who keep it up, but there's hardly any appreciation anymore. Not in America, at least. So I'm in love with my shittyass guitar now. We're best friends.

5 :: my family's poor as hell, so my guitar is a Harmony. Apparently that's just not up to par with the rest of Allegro, but you know what? Considering every cent my parents make is going towards sending me here, and they have trouble paying for the heat in Alaska as it is, I don't think I should complain they bought me a guitar. I don't care it's not a Fender or whatever. I love her. And I love my parents.

6 :: allegro's ok. Everyone's kind of... intense. Kind of why I didn't want to continue with performing. It's so cat-and-mouse and stuff. I went with therapy because it's less competitive and people are, IDK, awesome? But seriously, you performance kids? Woooow. Caaaaalm down. Everyone chill out. Therapy is so not about yourself, it's about lovin' everyone else, which is so awesome.

7 :: jackson Barhiggams is the single greatest violin player at this school and anyone who disagrees clearly does not understand the instrument at all.

8 :: i don't really believe in capitalization. i do it because if i don't practice it, i forget to do it in my formal papers, but really, i think it's stupid because one letter shouldn't be more important than the others.

9 :: i name everything of value after presidents. My guitar is Jefferson, my capo is Ulysses, my computer is Grant, my car is Nixon, my phone is Ford, my tv is Adams, my iPod is Lincoln...I hate politics, but those old white guys were hot.

10 :: the cafe place in town lets me play for them a lot, so if you ever want to hear my folk songs, come on by. I have an okay voice, I guess. Didn't fail Class Voice at least (SWEET!).

shh :: i only got into Allegro by the skin of my teeth. I was wait listed, cause I did it on guitar, not violin. I planned on just forgetting school, joining a Canadian folk band and traveling, but at the last minute someone dropped out and they put me in. I know if anyone found out, they'd ostrisize me. People judge people by talent here. It doesn't matter how nice I try to be... if my chords aren't perfect, or if my voice isn't great, I'm no one. I'm worthless. I hate music.

happy-go-lucky me: (lene marlin)

(( discovered as rpg progresses ))

11 :: i just got dumped. face it: long distance is a lie teenagers tell each other the summer before college. it doesn't work. never will.

12 :: i have an accent. sorta canadian. you know tina fey's impersonation of sarah palin? not far off.
