Since the
Brinno time lapse camera TLC200 is based on still 720p photos then AVI. The pause image is no doubt much superior to the normal compressed and de compressed video file. refer to this video.
Playback on the spot
The most fustrating part for bike camera is playback. You will be able to see the trip till you come home ,connect to your powerful CPU laptop to finish all the file tradfer, video editing, post processing. It reminds me of the old days of DV or camcorder. The file is big and the editting process is torturing that evently one one will do that again. What you get is whole room of V8 , DV tapes. Very very few of them can be readily for playback.
The Brinno time lapse camera is good at file size ( abount 3% of the normal video file). So you actually can play back on your smartphone on the spot. This is, I personally believe the most significant breakthrough for the Bike recorder.
