With the Hood and his Syndicate gone, there's a void in the costumed underworld. At the head of a movement to become the successor to the Hood is the Deadly Dozen. The survivors of a group of B-C level villains ressurected by the Hood to kill the Punisher in exchange for their lives and enhanced powers. With Castle dead (not sure where he stands in ML) and the Hood gone, the Dozen were directionless and desperate for a means to prolong their lives. Their answer came in the form of Blackheart who, in exchange for their souls, permanently granted them their lives as well as their enhanced abilities. Blackheart then directs them to take the Hood's place as the dominant criminal power, as he wishes to use organized crime as yet another avenue to corrupt human society.

As  a show of strength to the costumed underworld, tyhe Dozen stage a series of attacks on street-level heroes, showcasing their power to the criminal community. While these attacks don't lead to deaths, they due impress and even scare criminals with their viciousness and brutality. Thus the beginnings of a new syndicate are forming. As a result, street-level heroes have to join forces to make a combined effort to stop the Dozen before they gain too much momentum and create a new criminal juggernaut. They may find an unlikely ally in Wilson Fisk, who himself is starting to come back into power, and likely doesn't desire a powerful rival at this fragile stage of his efforts to rebuild his empire.

Finally  the heroes track down the Dozen and after a long battle manage to beat them, causing them to lose what support they had gained and halting their efforts to create a new Syndicate.  At the end however, the Dozen are rescued from imprisonment by agents of the Kingpin who makes them an offer they can't refuse: Work for him as his enforcers and lieutenants, or be killed. Naturally they agree. This arrangements works for Blackheart as he sees Fisk as a perfect tool to influence the underworld. Having the Dozen aid Fisk would be perfect.

This is not a set-in-stone plot, so feel free to add ideas or suggestions. Mainly this is meant to be a crisis to get all street-level heroes involved in. Plus anyone who doesn't have a street-level hero but want to participate can always temp one or two of the Dozen. Thoughts?

Iron Man Plot [09 May 2011|07:36pm]

Shadows of the Past

Part 1: "The Trial of Tony Stark"

A. During a press release on his latest project, Tony sees a man in the audience who looks exactly like Obadiah Stane. Feeling anxious and adrenaline rushed Tony attempts to stop the man from leaving. As he jostles thorugh the crowd he idadvertanly accosts an innocent bald man on national television. After the incident Tony finds himself increasing willing to give in to his more neagtive impulses: Insulting people less intelligent who don't get what he's saying in annoyance, making innapropriate, tactless sexual overtures to employees, etc. The incidenets seem to happen randomly so no connections would be made.

B. While out speaking to Pepper one day, the two are attacked by a suit of Iron Monger Armor. Tony dons the Iron man suit and battles it. He tries to get the person inside to speak, but it remains silent. This suit is more advanced than the original and Tony has a hard time fighting it. In the course of the fight, Iron Monger grievously wounds Pepper. The armor manages to gets away as Tony gets Pepper medical attention. Filled with rage, Tony tracks down Ezekiel Stane, who's imprisoned in the Raft, as he sees him as the prime suspect. Despite Stane's words to the contrary, Tony's too mad to listen and beats Stane within an inch of his life. It's so bad guards are forced to take Tony out of the cell. After leaving, Tony visits Pepper in the hospital, she's beat up, but okay. Whil;e they talk it's revealed Ezekiel Stane died, and that Tony's the prime suspect.

C. Stark is arrested and it's revealed Stane was killed with nanomachines just like the ones Tony used during the Civil War and his time as head of SHIELD. Also they have the guards' testimony of his violence and footage of Stane in pain and dying a time after Tony left, and his grude with the Stanes as motive. Tony is put on trial for Stane's murder, with maybe Jennifer or Murdock as his attorney. During the course of the trial, Bullseye tries to kill the security guards who had pulled Stark away to make it look like Tony's trying to cover things up. This adds more fuel for the prosecution. Meanwhile, Tony's friends are determined to find out what exactly happened. Also, durinbg the course of events, the man who looks like Obadiah Stane, make several appearnces to Tony, but not to anyone else, giving the impression that maybe Tony's losing it.

D. As they try to gain access to the security video, they can't intially because it's evidence, they discover that the head of security had recently come into a lot of money. When they go to confront him, they're attacked by the Iron Monger armor, who's there to kill the man so he can't talk. Meanwhile a friend of a more scientific bent has Tony undergo a medical examination using advanced Avengers equipment. It's revealed that Tony's andrenal glands had been producing an excessive amount of hormones, greatly amplifying his negative emotional state. This reveals meeddling, but not who. As the Avenger tries to leave he's attacked by the man who looks like Stane along with Bullseye. With help from other heroes they defeat the pair, Bullseye escapes but the Obadiah-looking man is knocked out. It's revealed that he's actually the Chameleon. Meanwhile the other group, after saving the inside man who admits he allowed the doctored footage to be used, tracks the signal of the Iron Monger suit to a warehouse. At the warehouse, the Corruptor is revealed to be the one behind Tony's aggravated emotional state. The suit attacks them along with Corruptor manipulating their impulses. The team beats the Corruptor and destroys the armor, revealing that it was really a mobile drone.

E. After the two team compare notes they interrogate the three men. Corruptor reveals that what was happening to Tony was an evolution of his powers. The Corruptor used a more advanced stream of his pheromones on Tony, so they'd only affect him while he was already feeling strong emotions. Chameleon had been similarily hired, but to impersonate Stane and play with Stark's mental state, making him believe he was seeing things and that he'd gone crazy ending with the murder of Stane. Neither man know who hired them or who actually killed Ezekiel. With evidence in tow, they head for Tony's trial, but Bullsye's orders are changed to kill Stark. They get there just in time to stop him. However a new Iron Monger suit bursts into the courtroom, giving Bullseye a chance to escape. Tony dons his armor and takes the suit down. Revealed to be a drone like the first. With the evidence gathered, Tony's cleared.

Meanwhile at an undisclosed location, Bullseye meets up with his employer to say things didn't go as planned. The man, who looks exactly like Obadiah Stane, reveals that they had only just begun to make Stark suffer.
