[Private to Sarah Darcy] Please don't think this is odd or anything, I have an invitation to a birthday party this weekend. Friday, to be precise. Only it's a party for a one year old, it's apparently everyone in my year with a baby and all their friends so Rory is coming. He's the oldest of the year's kids, but I think there might be a few older ones? I'm not really sure how you feel about a house full of children or anything. Rory isn't really as shy as he seemed, he gets along well with the other children at daycare.

[Warded to Emmeline Vance] I would have probably sent an owl, like I said, but these things are so much faster and interesting - anyway! I was wondering if you had plans for Friday and would like to fill in that raincheck? There's this little place around the corner from the ministry that I've been meaning to have lunch at and just thought you might like it too!

Uh well what do Let me know.

People are REALLY silly when they get questioned by lawyers, but lawyers aren't much better at asking them! I was waiting for a hearing (I will spare you the details because it was rather boring and yeah) and this is the line of questioning I overheard:

Q: Please state the location of your right foot immediately prior to impact.
A: Immediately before the impact, my right foot was located at the immediate end of my right leg.

and here is another:
Q: What happened then?
A: He told me, he says, "I have to kill you because you can identify me."
Q: Did he kill you?

Thank you to the wonderful healers that put my stomach back inside and fixed Rory's boo-boos. Sorry if I said anything silly, there was a lot of pain potion involved.

I have a new scar on my stomach, I'm not sure I like it, but Rory is safe and that's all that matters, right?

Rory turned two last month, he's so big.

a far cry from 19 months ago.

The party was really a hit and now Rory wants cake every Saturday! We'll see, but thank you for those who came it was really great to see everyone!

Congrats to all those who are expecting or just had babies! There are so many and it's so hard to keep up with them, but I am going to send everyone a thank you card too along with congrats too and yeah.

Work is just really busy you know?

How is everyone??

Rory learned a new trick. I'm not sure where from, but it's rather unsettling.

I had to bring him to the office this afternoon because he was "sick" and couldn't be at the daycare, I guess, only he didn't seem sick. But his new trick, to get attention, is to start coughing and he just coughs and coughs and coughs and vomits. I do not think I like that he can make himself sick on command, just to get my attention. At least it was on his blanket and not my paperwork. So now I have to hold him while I'm trying to write, it's kind of hard. At least he's asleep now. I kind of can't believe he's nearly two.

I heard that there's some kind of reunion going on for a different class (you can't believe how fast news goes here at the ministry, faster than at Hogwarts) but it made me think about if our year is going to have one? It's been two years, that's enough right?

Is there some special secret to wrapping gifts? I've tried to wrap this box like eight times and it looks like I rolled it in shiny bits of paper and spellotape. It's a box, it can't be that hard, right?

I'm really excited for Halloween. Last year was kind of a bust, because Rory was only four months old and there's not much you can do with a wobbly baby dressed up in a puppy costume. But now, he's practically running around and I haven't figured out what he'll be.
