Happy Birthday Foxy (blood-free version) [26 Apr 2012|10:06pm]
Tonight was a strictly non-business night. And he was for all intents and purposes going to pretend this was March 20th and not...over a month later. So while he may be dressed in an all black suit and shirt with a red tie and a classic domino mask that was just Robin enough for her to see it, but not enough for a too obvious connection for anyone else, he was certainly not really "Robin". That would mean there was some aspect of the crimefighting in there. And tonight that was off the table. This was about as close as to the real him as he could get, that odd mix between Thomas and Robin that never appeared if he was worried about fighting crime or people not finding out he was Robin.

About a week ago he'd broken into one of her safehouses and left a note about the party they were going to hijack for her birthday.

Because if you were going to crash a party discretely you had to do it with style.

And for the two of them? That meant a masquerade party was the way to go.

20 Questions [03 Mar 2012|05:02pm]

1. When were you born? Where?
Gotham City, almost 19 years ago. You do the math.

2. What were some of the first words and phrases you spoke?
I used to apparently call Dick "silly" a lot when I first learned to speak.

3. At what age did you first attend school? What school did you go to? Did you like it?
6, Gotham Elementary Academy. It was fine for a private school, I prefered the public schools I went to later on.

4. Name one of your fondest childhood memories.
I had a ring of lock picks Mom gave me and I'd go around the Manor opening everything I could. She'd hide stuff around the house for me to break into and find. Our version of a treasure hunt.

5. Now name one of your worst.
Got shot twice in a mission during my really early years as Robin, before I even got to solo patrols. Young enough that I'll count that as a childhood thing.

6. Name one of your most embarrassing.
Robin initiations, nuff said.

7. Which parent/adult were you closest to as a small child?
Mom

8. What about as a teenager?
See above answer, that didn't change.

9. Did you ever try drinking, drugs, or both? What all have you tried? Were you ever caught?
Drinking yes, recreational drugs no. And never caught but I think they'd be more disappointed in me for getting caught than the drinking part.

10. Did you ever skip school? How frequently?
I fight crime in Gotham. Which occurs at all times, not just at night. That should give you your answer.

11. Who was your best friend when you were really small?
Really small? How small is that? Because if we're talking toddler I'd have to go with Isis, she was more fun than other kids. But if you mean elementary then it'd be Mark Hadden. We were soccer buddies.

12. Who was your best friend when you were a teenager?
Isis is still up there but in civilian ID only it'd still be Mark, overall including the Robin thing I'd say most of the Teen Titans too.

13. Did you sleep with stuffed animals? At what age did you stop – if you ever did?
Not really, I had a cat who'd curl up with me. I also had a Batman plushie Babs made me on a shelf, never had it on the bed, and a tiger one but that was only brought places and on the bed if Isis wasn't around.

14. Did you ever have braces or glasses growing up?
No.

15. Did you ever break your arm or leg and need crutches – or anything similar to that?
Similar to answer 10. I fight crime in Gotham. I have no enhanced durability or superpowers at all. Connect the dots.

16. Did you ever have any strange habits that you outgrew but were teased for?
No strange habits that most people would notice.

17. How well did you get along with your parents and siblings?
Very well with all of them. We're pretty close knit mash-up of a family. And yes, siblings doesn't mean blood related in this context, because I have quite a few of them.

18. If you could go back and change one thing about the past, would you? What would you change?
I'm not sure anything that I'd even consider changing would be in my power to change. I don't like regretting things, it wastes time and there's no guarantee that things will end up better if you did change them. Because while I wish some things had ended up better and I could save people, I can't berate myself about it because it doesn't help.

19. What were some of your favorite pranks to pull when you were younger? Did you have any favorite jokes? What made you laugh the most back then?
My sense of humour hasn't changed all that much, I'm just more devious. I can't reveal any pranks because new universe means I'm free to use them again and nobody will see them coming.

20. Did you have any pets? If not, why? If you did, what were they?
Yes, Isis was my russian blue cat. She'd jump onto my shoulders and we'd go on adventures. Everyone assumes Mom gave her to me, but she was actually a present from Dad for my first christmas. He just likes to maintain a reputation and lets people think he didn't.

Thomas and Sarah- Meme- Angst- Seperation (AU) [06 Feb 2012|09:50pm]
She'd been gone for months without a word and with no way to trace her. Just vanished into thin air. Had it been anyone else he'd be mad that they could even pull that off without him finding them. But with her...well he'd admit he was more hurt than anything. If she was going to up and leave he'd expected...well at least a goodbye, or some note or something. Not just an empty place and no leads to follow.

Which is why she's the last person he expects to see when he drops by a supermarket in one of the smaller neighbourhoods on his way home. There's an initial moment of shock and then it hits him what she's buying and her...condition. He probably scares a few of the other customers by the way he stands there, eyebrow twitching in anger, and glaring daggers at the young woman innocently making her purchases.

He never makes it home. Instead he follows her, recklessly still in his civilian ID, as far as he can without alerting her to his presence to where she's staying. Still blinded by anger, he doesn't wait till it's completely dark and changes to Robin gear to sneak into her living room ahead of her.

A tall shadow looms behind Sarah's couch, eyebrow still twitching, as she enters.

Meme- Thomas and Maria- Betrayal [22 Jan 2012|06:16pm]
"Why'd you have to go tell him?!"

Great. This was just...argh. Here he thought he'd done a good job keeping it a secret, and even when Maria had found out he'd thought she'd keep it from Bruce the way he kept her secrets from the Boss too. "I've never breathed a word about your dancing to him," he hisses at her. "And you go right ahead and tell him about...why?!" Maria finding out about...whatever it was between him and the thief, he could live with. If only because he'd thought that she wouldn't go telling the freakin' Batman, because along with the intense disapproval he knew was coming he'd also get a heap of hypocritical lecturing. From the goddamn Batman! As if he'd never done the exact same thing.

Sometime in the future [29 Nov 2011|09:13pm]
It's been a long and hard night of detective work for Thomas. A rash of killings has hit Gotham and the victims seem unconnected no matter what angle they've looked at. Was it the beginnings of a gang war or a random killer on the loose? So far interrogating the scum all over the city has been useless. They know nothing. Not in the way where they know something and aren't telling, but they genuinely don't know anything about the mystery killer or killers he's hunting. He's not sure if the possibility that this is an isolated individual should relieve him or not, after all, so far they've got no real evidence that it's even one killer or that these killings are related. But there's no such thing as coincidence for a detective.

Thomas decides to rest at one of the nearby satellite caves Batman has set up around Gotham over the years, it's cold and rainy and he's sick of hitting dead ends. This is one of the smaller ones, stocked with basic gear, a civilian change of clothes, first aid and some food. It also happens to be the one he's told the Fox about. Not that he'd admit to doing that if any of the others asked. But if she wanted to find him or needed help, he wanted her to have a safe spot to go. Maybe that's why he seems to gravitate towards this one whenever he can, it's not like he ever expects her there though.

He shakes out the rain from his cape as he enters and is about to peel of the mask when he sees the bleeding figure on the floor.

Test Scene [06 Oct 2011|01:04am]

First thing he registers: he’s face down in mud.
Never a good way to wake up, especially not in Gotham. Slowly he regains feeling in his limbs…and promptly he wishes he hadn’t. He aches all over, so much that he can’t tell where it hurts, just that it hurts all over.

With what seems to be a Herculean effort he manages to lift himself partially off the ground to figure out what fresh hell he needs to face now. He’s not quite recovered but in a split second he recognizes where he is. Wayne Manor grounds.

And for a brief moment he entirely forgets the destruction of Gotham and the sight of his universe crumbling before him as he groans.

“Unconscious on the grounds in Robin gear? Dad’s going to kill me…”

App [06 Oct 2011|12:59am]

Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Sands

Email: five_sands@hotmail.com

AIM: Sands2279

Character Name: Thomas Kyle

Character LJ (if applicable): cantkeepmeout

Physical description (face, build, weight): 6’2, 180 pounds, intense blue eyes and black hair, athletic and lean build

Age: 18

Birthday: July 27

Codename (if using one): Robin but with changing universes and all, perhaps eventually a hero version of Red X

PB: (If using one.): Silviu Tolu

Abilities:

No superhuman abilities. Has been trained by the “bat family” and his mother since he was 6. Expert hand-to-hand, disguise, hacker, strategic planning, acrobatics, escape artist, and all forms of breaking and entering.

Weaknesses and flaws:

Same weaknesses as any normal, fit teenager of his age.

Despite all his training he has a bit of a inferiority complex when it came to his family. His training made him determined to be the best Robin but he always felt that he failed to measure up. He felt second best at everything. He was better at acrobatics than the other Robins, except the first. He was a great planner and strategist but the third Robin was still better. And so on. His only area where he had bested his predecessors was in breaking into things, be it buildings, safes, complexes, etc, all courtesy of his mother’s training. Thomas constantly tries to prove himself to his father that he is the best crimefighting partner. Even though his family thinks highly of his accomplishments and skills, he wants to be as good, if not better than them.

Growing up with a retired thief and a perfectionist made Thomas generally unimpressed by the older heroes as his view of them stems from hearing of their shortcomings from his father and because of learning of the other side of the law from his mother and her general disregard towards non-Gotham heroes. He gets along well within his own age group but finds it difficult to get along with the more experienced heroes. As a result he challenges authority when he sees fit. Although his personality is generally serious he has a mischevious side to him only those close to him see.

Character location/Home: Gotham

Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero

Team: None at the moment but he doesn’t want to join the titans since he led them in his universe (too many associations), YJLA maybe

Relatives (living/dead?): (All are alt universes) Bruce Wayne (father), Selina Kyle (mother), Dick Grayson (adopted brother), Jason Todd (deceased/ adopted brother), Tim Drake (adopted brother),  Barbara Gordon (sister-in-law)

Backstory:

The son of Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne, Thomas became his father’s pet project. It was decided that he’d receive education not only from Batman himself but all the associates he trained in order to perfect crimefighting. From Dick he learnt acrobatics, from Tim planning and detective skills, Cassandra taught him to fight, and Babs taught him all computer related skills. Thomas is particularly close to his mother who has taught him all the tricks of her former trade, he takes pride in it as his claim to fame, there’s no security system he hasn’t beaten. He’s still living in the shadow of his brothers though. He goes by his mother's last name since he was born before the two wed and he never desired to change it to Wayne.

He started off as Robin to his father’s Batman, leading both Young Justice and later the Teen Titans.
Crisis of infinite earths eventually came to his world, destroying Gotham and somehow sending an injured Thomas to another universe. He’s found injured and unconscious on the Wayne property.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: He finds after the destruction of his earth that he’s landed on Wayne property in a new universe, have him meet some bats before moving out of Gotham
What are you planning to do with this character? Have him build relationships with others, join a team
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Connect with his new bat family, find his identity as a hero, cope with being stuck in a new universe,  join a team, maybe meet his mom in this universe
