GAME RULES
[+] NO GODMODDING/POWERPLAYING. At no point can one person’s character be controlled by another player without permission of that character's player. Also, please do not say another character has said or done something without asking the permission of their player beforehand.

Also, please refrain from playing with two or more of your characters together in one scene. If one of your characters does something that would normally make another character react, please simply refrain. The point is to scene with other people! (For Example: You play Bob and Sara. Bob does something nasty to one of Sara's friends. Being that one person plays both, Sara cannot confront Bob and that must be left to the characters of other players).

Addendum(s): With the exception of solo scenes, letters home, and brief appearances (a few lines), NPCs related to your character are to remain out of in-game scenes. NPCs are not meant to be played as PCs within scenes. If there is a need to have an NPC appear in a thread for more than a short period for plot reasons, please bring this to the attention of the Mods for approval.

Big things that happen to characters (Such as: getting pregnant, getting hit by a car, a huge family emergency, death, dismemberment, getting beat up by NPCs) should be run past the mods. If we know about these things ahead of time, we can troubleshoot them for the player, give the player information that could help, and let them know if their intended plot is alright or not to go ahead with. For example: there may be upcoming plot in a portion of New Orleans, and if we don't know that your character is planning on being run over by an escaped ostrich from the zoo? That might mess with our 'suddenly there are no ostriches in the world' plot.

See? Now you've done it :|

[+] NO MARY SUES/GARY STUS. No character is perfect and good at everything. Everyone has their flaws, secrets, and weaknesses. Not every other character will like them. Characters are not permitted to have relations to any of the characters from the Harry Potter novels, any other fandoms, or celebrities.

[+] NO SOLE SHIPPING. If you have come to the game to play your character primarily with another and only that one other, please look elsewhere. As a member of this game you are expected to play with other people and not simply one person. We do not require you to play with every single person in game, but if we notice that you interact with only one or two people, we will ask that you branch out. If that does not occur we will ask you to leave the game.

[+] AGE MINIMUM: 18 YEARS OR OLDER. There may be themes within the game not suitable for minors. Don’t apply if you are uncomfortable with NC-17 or R rated scenes and cannot simply scroll past. All scene with adult scenes must be placed behind a journal cut and friends locked. It is as your risk to read these scenes.

[+] ACTIVITY REQUIREMENT. To be considered active you must post two threads or logs with each character you play every month. Party/event threads count as (1) scene. Journal entries and commenting on others’ posts is not manditory but highly encouraged (as well it looks good for your activity if you decide to take up another character). Texting and emails do not count towards activity. Please space your threads out to prevent thread grouping at one period during the month.

Activity Checks are done on the first of every month. The results of the check will be posted on the OOC community and those that did not make the cut will receive and email.

If you do not make the cut, to be cleared you must email the mods at cci.mods@gmail.com with a description of a plot you will carry out. It could be anything from your character meeting with another to something more grandiose. You have one week to execute this plot. If you fail to email the mods and/or do not post your plot within that time frame, you will be removed from the community.

[+] CHARACTER CAP. The current cap on characters one player can have is five per player. You must apply again with your new character. There is a waiting period of two weeks or two completed threads from your most recently accepted character before you can apply for another.

As of January 2011, we are allowing certain players to request a 6th character. Those interested must have a good record of keeping up with all of their current characters, have finished scenes with their characters, and haven't skirted the monthly scene requirement in order to be considered for a new character.

Please note that if you seem you cannot keep up with activity on all your characters, the Mods will ask you to drop one for the time being.

[+] SPELLING & GRAMMAR. We know and understand that no one is perfect and mistakes happen. Still, please keep an eye on your spelling and grammar, and using spell check never hurts. Don’t type like an iDioT.

[+] DRAMA. Drama within a game is expected. We are all mature enough here, however, to be able to settle any out of character drama when and if it arises. If there is a situation you are unable to handle, please contact the moderators at cci.mods[@]gmail.com. If any one person is starting unecessary drama, a warning will be issued. If that warning is not heeded the player will be removed from the game.

[+] ROLLING. Throughout the game, there will be times when a roll (in AIM chat) is needed. Most occasions are to see the outcome of a sports event or to determine if a character has been caught by faculty being naughty. These rolls will have a base random roll of a d100 percentage and modifiers will be added or subtracted from the roll. All rolls will be done within an AIM chatroom with players present to witness.

Example: Bob is trying to sneak back into his dorm room after curfew. To see if he succeeds without getting caught by a member of faculty, a roll is made. The result of the base percentage roll is 56. The mods determine he needs a 60 to be able to succeed. We then add in point values for being under the cover of darkness (+5) and the fact he pays attention to the campus patrol made by the groundskeepers (+5). We subtract points for his room facing the commons (-5). That gives Bob a total of 58, and he is caught.
