For TOMS, espadrilles are a low priced shoe that costs $5 to make. Instead
UGG Online of selling it for $10, it is easier to sell them for $50 $70 retail and say "you really buying 2 pair, one for yourself and one for someone who needs a pair of shoes, any shoes.
The key element to make this all work is to make sure the price is in the price range of similarly comparable fashion brands, so that it becomes a replacement product.
TOMS took that idea and used the color fashion. By that I mean they took a commodity product, a low end simple shoe, and applied fashion fabrics to make people be able to be proud to be paying for free shoes while also getting their individuality expressed.
With that idea, there is a lot of money to be made. Now, Bono was
Ralph Lauren outlet using the color red, and Armstrong was using the color
UGG Online yellow,
Moncler sale and Komen is using pink.
