Summary: Hahn and Krisuk try to woo a pretty half-breed girl. With Sokka.

Sokka really, really hated Wild Fae.

He'd been trying to hunt when he'd suddenly been grabbed out of nowhere and heard two familiar, incredibly annoying voices.

"Abduction," the one who called himself Hahn had said.

"Complete!" the one who called himself Krisuk had finished.

With no further warning, he'd been dragged off.

Now he was travelling through the forest at an inhumanly high speed, being passed off between the damn Fae. Katara was going to kill him.

He had no idea how much time had passed before they reached a small house just outside the forest. The two Fae didn't even bother to knock, just blew into the house and dropped him on the floor.

"Hi, Song!" carolled Krisuk.

Grinning, Hahn added, "We got you a present!"

Sokka blinked up at a very pale young woman with electric green eyes. She had evidently just finished washing her hands -- they were held still over a basin, water dripping from them. Beyond her was an old man lying on a bed, and next to him--

Something light and dark blurred and then Hahn yelped. "HEY!"

The blur was a young woman, pale skinned and dark-haired and so very, very Fire Nation. Her expression was oddly blank given that she had just stabbed Hahn.

"Oh, yes," said the green-eyed girl calmly. "I have guests."

"She stabbed me!" Hahn cried. "What'd she stab me for?"

Sokka could think of several reasons, personally.

"She doesn't like the Fae," Song answered.

"Then what's she doing in your cottage?"

"Miss Song is a doctor, remember?" Krisuk told his friend, pulling him away from the Fire girl and spinning water from the basin.

Hahn looked around, and his eyes landed on the old man on the bed. Sokka tensed, but the Water fae only said, "Oh, right. Grandda's hurt." As Krisuk finished healing him, he turned his eyes back to the doctor. "Anyways. We brought you a present!"

Song eyed them both. "I see."

Hahn nodded and pushed Sokka at the Fire girl -- probably in an attempt to avoid being stabbed again -- then turned to his friend. "Hey, Krisuk, you wanna go play with the Avatar-blood prince?"

Krisuk grinned. "When do I not?"

And with that, the two Water Fae blew out of the house as suddenly as they'd snatched Sokka up.

Knives chased the two fae out before Sokka even realised the Fire girl had shoved him aside. He didn't hit the floor, at least -- Song caught and steadied him. "I'm sorry about them," she said.

".....What the hell?" he demanded.

"They like me," Song said quietly, letting go.

"Who are you?" Sokka asked. He didn't think those two morons could like anybody.

"My name is Song," she introduced herself. "I'm a doctor."

A Wild Fae doctor who didn't act like any Wild Fae Sokka had ever met. "Riiiiiiiiiight." He turned his gaze to the Fire girl, who was calmly retrieving her knives.

"You can leave whenever you want," Song added, checking on the unconscious old man, "though I'd recommend waiting until the boys are out of the area."

"Uh," said Sokka. "While we're on the topic, do you maybe miraculously know how to get them to leave you the fuck alone?"

She gave him a small smile. "If I knew that, they wouldn't keep trying to woo me with 'presents'."

He put his head in his hands and groaned dramatically, and she swatted him. "Quietly. Master Jeong-Jeong is resting."

Master, was it?

He softened his groan.

"How is he?" asked the Fire girl. Her voice had softened very slightly, but her eyes when she looked at Song were cold.

All the kindness drained away from the doctor when she turned to the other girl. "He's alive and will remain so," she said. "Unless you want me to call Krisuk back, however, it'll be a long time before he can be moved. He's the only waterbender in the area."

"Wait, what does waterbending have to do with it?" Sokka wanted to know.

"Waterbenders heal," Song explained gently.

"...so... that wasn't some freaky fae thing he did, then?"

The Fire girl gave him an incredulous look, but Song said, "No, it was a waterbending thing. You're from the South Pole?"

"Yeah," Sokka replied. "My sister's the only waterbender lAGH!"

The Fire girl had grabbed him by the ear and was dragging him to the door. "Go get her," she instructed him.

"It's too late for that," Song objected, and the girl turned to pierce her with a stare that would have frozen lava.

"What?"

"In the day," she clarified.

The Fire girl released Sokka, and he backed away, rubbing his ear. "Ow," he commented, but the ladies ignored him.

"What's wrong with him coming back in the night?" the Fire girl asked.

Song sighed. "I live outside the wild woods, Lady Mai. When night falls, the Light Fae sing."

That gave her pause, and Song added, "You are welcome to bring in your other knives when the sun sets. The Light Fae can be... persuasive."

"She has more?" Sokka put in, wide-eyed. Damn, but Mai was getting more attractive.

She smiled, and he realised the Fire lady was quite beautiful. "Special knives. Iron forged in the flames of Agni and tempered in blessed water."

He whistled. Blades like that had to be expensive. "Who made them?"

"Master Piandao of the Fire Nation," Song said softly, ignoring the filthy look Mai turned on her. "He makes weapons that are... potent against the fae."

"You'd know all about that, wouldn't you?" Mai said.

The look that crossed Song's face made Sokka step back. It wasn't rage, or hate -- it was pain. "Yes," she said. "I would."

"Okay!" Sokka said cheerfully. "Lady Mai, why don't you tell me more about your knives?" He gave Song an apologetic look as he guided Mai outside the house.

Sokka was half-asleep across the doorway of Song's bedroom, letting the rain lull him to rest. He figured Mai wouldn't slit the Fae girl's throat during the night, but... he just felt better being there.

A loud "SHH!" brought him immediately to full awareness, and he had his bone knife in his hand before his mind caught up with him. He rolled over as if asleep and cracked one eye open to see Hahn half in the window to Song's bedroom.

What the hell.

"Shh yourself!" Hahn hissed back, presumably to Krisuk. He was soaked from head to toe and dripping on the floorboards. How in the world could Song sleep through that mess?

As soon as he moved out of the way, Krisuk -- who was much drier than his friend -- vaulted in and closed off the window. He then did one of those weird dancey waterbending moves and dried Hahn off, carefully settling the extra in a nearby basin.

A similar move took care of what water had dripped on the floor, then Krisuk yawned and murmured something to Hahn, who nodded. The two Fae headed for Song's bed.

Sokka was on his feet and between them and the doctor before his brain fully caught up with him. "What are you doing?" he hissed.

The two Water Fae looked confused. "Nesting," Krisuk said after a moment.

"What?" Sokka asked.

Hahn said a word Sokka couldn't even start to pronounce, so the Water Tribesman stared at him instead.

"It doesn't translate," Krisuk informed him. "Move."

"No," Sokka replied.

Hahn started for him, but Krisuk stopped him. "We promised Miss Song," he said.

The taller Fae sighed, then looked at Sokka again. "It is cold and wet and full of Light Fae out there," he said shortly. "Miss Song has," and he said that word again. "So move."

"No," Sokka repeated. "That's her bed."

"That's the point," Krisuk replied.

Fae were crazy, Sokka decided.

"It's all right," a sleepy voice interjected. All three turned to Song, who had a smile on her face. "I've granted them permission, Sokka," she added.

Oh.

Hahn and Krisuk looked at each other, then each of them grabbed him by the arm. "Hey!" he protested as they dumped him onto the bed.

"It is cold," Hahn said.

"And wet," Krisuk agreed.

Song reached out and pulled Hahn down beside her, then pulled Krisuk down on the other side. "It's all right," she told them both, and gave Sokka an apologetic look.

Carefully, Sokka wriggled off the bed. "I'll just watch the door," he said.

"Your loss," Hahn muttered.

Sokka didn't dignify that with an answer.

The next time he looked over, the two Water Fae had curled up as tight against Song as they possibly could, each with his arms wrapped around her. Krisuk even had his face hidden in her hair.

He could hear faint singing in the distance, and Song whimpered in her sleep.

Sokka scowled and carefully joined the trio on the bed.

Stupid Water Fae.
